The final graduate of the Hart Dungeon, Wilson ...
I asked our faithful Facebook followers whom they wished to see on the main roster. There is an abundance of talent, and many of them are veterans in the wrestling industry already. They are simply working through the WWE system to reach the big time. Let's begin with #5.
#5 Tyson Kidd - 3 Votes
Tyson Kidd, the last wrestler to be trained in Stu Harts dungeon, has all the athletic ability in the world. He can put on excellent matches with the fresh young faces of NXT, and the last time I saw him, he had improved his mic skills dramatically since his days on the main roster. I wonder if the WWE will ever have faith in him to bring us matches on the main roster like he does on NXT. Maybe in time?
#4 Adrian Neville - 4 Votes
The NXT Champion is one of my favourites, and not just because he hails from the north-east of England like myself, but because he can fly like nobody else in the world today. He is already a veteran in the industry, having wrestled all over the world for over a decade. He is so close to being called up, and I hope it is sooner rather than later.
#2/#3 The Ascension - 6 Votes
I don't watch NXT every week, but if I did, these two men would be a highlight. Whenever I do see these two, they remind of how tag teams used to work in the WWE. Who remembers Demolition? Who remembers the Road Warriors? This tag team could easily go back in time and rival these legendary tag teams, because they are intense, they work really well together, and they have an identity.
I might be giving them too much praise, because we will never know just how great these two can be until they reach the main roster. I feel like a PG environment on Raw or Smackdown could hurt these two, because you look at these guys, and you want to think of edgy storylines and bloody feuds with other tag teams. You want them to be dominant, because we have not had a tag team like that in a very long time, and you want to boo them like crazy, while also respecting their ring work. The cute babyface road is not something these two could pull off, just let them fight.
#1 Sami Zayn - 16 votes
Sami Zayn is the total package. He is similar to Daniel Bryan, he worked all over the world making a name for himself as the masked El Generico. Wrestling fans already loved him before he took off his mask after signing with WWE, and they love him even more now. He has a natural connection with any audience he performs in front of, and more often than not, he will be involved in the match of the night.
I watched NXT Takeover and Arrival, and although Sami Zayn lost his matches to Cesaro and Breeze, he was a huge contributor to those amazing matches. He could very well receive a match of the year award at the end of 2014. Sami Zayn was clearly the winner of this question, and it shows the amazing following this man already has. He could do big things in the future, he could even become WWE World Heavyweight Champion down the line. Jumping to conclusions can be bad sometimes, but I can safely say, if there is anyone on the NXT roster who can become a legend in the WWE, it is Sami Zayn. Can I get an olé?
*sings* Olé! ... Olé! Olé! Olé! .......... Olé! ... Olé! ...... Olé! .. Olé! Olé! Olé!
My next article will touch upon the subject of singing/dancing/rapping gimmicks in the WWE. Thank you to those who pointed it out in my previous article.
It's time for me to go, try not to miss me too much!
