5 Reasons to be hopeful about TNA’s future.

5. Less Pay Per Views

TNA will be running even less live PPV’s then they did last year. It may sound like a bad idea, but it cost more money to run these events, and plus the fee to get it on PPV. PPV is a dying outlet, and there is not much money to made from it. If TNA ran one every month, they would surely go out of business. ECW expanded their PPV schedule and lost buckets of money. TNA is making money by not putting on PPV’s, and when they do run one, it will mean more to the fans and will hopefully not lose money on it.  When WWE first started PPV, it was 1 a year, then expanded to 4. As a fan we had to buy all of them, because it actually meant something. Now with 12 or more a year, the shows lose their meaning, and are not worth getting.

4. More faith from Destination America, than from Spike.

Destination America has already given TNA, 3 t.v. shows, and will be giving them air time for specials as well. Spike always talked about giving TNA a second show, but never followed through. TNA appears to already be the flagship show on the new channel. The royalty rights are a lot less than Spike was paying, but with the extra shows, and airings, TNA could end up actually getting more money from the network than before. And I know that the channel is aired in a lot less homes, but if you actually watched last night’s show, there were commercials for shows that air on other networks. Destination America is part of a group of 10 channels all owned by the Discovery Network, and TNA should be advertised on all of them, which will give them more exposure, and could lead them to getting show on the more visible channels of the group.

3. The future stars of the roster.

TNA is loaded with young stars that are just starting to reach their potential. EC3 is going to be a great heel for many years. Add in DJ Z, Jesse and Robbie, The Wolves, Sanada and a host of others and the future is very bright. Plus NXT is a huge bonus for TNA. Not everybody there is going to end up with WWE, and just like EC3 when they get released TNA will be there to sign them. TNA will be picking up young talent, who have gotten t.v exposure and a solid education of how to be a “television wrestler”.

2. Reality based shows

A lot of people were sour on this idea from Dixie, to make Impact more of a “reality show”. Reality t.v. sells, simple as that. Now traditional wrestlings fan may claim to hate reality t.v. But these are the same people who buy shoot interviews, and listen to podcasts. Why do we as fans do that? Because we want to know what happens backstage, we want to see and hear the wrestlers out of character. Even after I became a pro wrestler, I still love hearing stories about what happens backstage.

1. The Veterans of TNA

TNA has a deep roster, it’s just a matter if Gaburick and the writers can use them properly. Kurt Angle, Bobby Lashley, MVP, Samoa Joe, Abyss, Loki, James Storm, Eric Young, Austin Aries and Bobby Roode are the core of TNA. All were featured heavily last night. TNA has more depth than WWE does, and after last nights show where 7 of the above were involved in the main event, it makes me hopeful that TNA will start using them to their full potential.
