A New Years Revolution: What Wrestling Fans Really Want For 2016

Welcome back guy’s. We hope you’re all still enjoying the Christmas Holidays and looking forward to what the New Year brings.

With that being said, let’s make ourselves heard in 2016. We need change, we need “A New Year’s Revolution”.

For WWE and wrestling in general, 2015 was not one of the best year’s, far from it. We lost some of the biggest characters to ever grace the squared circle this year, and they will be dearly missed. Yeah sure, we had some good moments like The Dudley Boy’z return or when Seth Rollins cashed in the MITB briefcase at WrestleMania 31, but those moments were few and in-between.

Fan’s showed their displeasure with WWE’s flagship show RAW by tuning out in droves week after week. ThIs showed with the disastrous TV ratings . WWE itself in 2015 suffered the worst rating’s decline in over a decade and as TNA iMPACT continues to slowly ebb away, wrestling is in dire need of another boom period to continue to grow or 2016 could be a lot worse.

WWE and wrestling in general need to make a New Year’s Day resolution, and that resolution should be to have a wrestling revolution, a new era if you will.

Here is a list of 5 things WWE Must change in order to make their product better again:

#5 More NXT Call Ups

The NXT roster is very deep with lot’s of special talent. Yet, aside from this only select few were called up to the main roster in 2015. The best of those being Neville, Kevin Owen’s, Charlotte and Sasha Banks. Next year i hope to be seeing a lot more as the NXT roster including the likes of Enzo Amore & Big Cass, Finn Balor’ Baron Corbin’ Nia Jax, Samoa Joe, Kenta and fellow Japanese Superstar Kana’ who now goes by the ring names Hideo Itami and Asuka. These are the names who will really revolutionize WWE again.

#4 Make The Royal Rumble PPV Good Again

I think we can all agree that the last few Royal Rumble’s have damn near killed the PPV. From the Batista return and basically given his Royal Rumble win, to the deflated crowds, the never ending Daniel Bryan chants and then only to have Roman Reigns win it all the following year (he was hated at that time).

Next year they need to listen to what the fans really want and not what we hate. Give us extra surprises, if Daniel Bryan’s in the Rumble, keep him in it for longer than 5 minutes and give us a happy ending.

#3 Retire The Big Show and The Authority

Nothing much to say here. Just do it.

#2 More Surprises On Raw

2 week ago Raw hit us with a surprising WWE World Heavyweight Championship match and title change. No one saw it coming as the last time it happened was a little over 4 years ago. It needs to happen more often with other various titles as well as the WHC.

Make RAW what it is ‘your flag-ship show’. Make it interesting again, and make it so we can’t afford to miss it the following week.

#1 And Finally… We As Fans Need A Real Threat. A True Competitor To WWE

If they’re not going to listen, then someone needs to make them listen. For far too long now the WWE machine has been sat comfortably as the #1 wrestling promotion in the world. Maybe the WWE needs a competitor to make them better, like back in 1997 when Ted Turners WCW knocked them off the top spot and they were forced to change the show for the better.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that companies including WWE, often produce their best when faced with real competition. Strategies have to be better, ideas have to be better sharper, execution has to be perfected. Without a true sports-entertainment competitor, the WWE has grown to become a global monopoly and while that is good for them, it has also allowed for a lot of complacency, and before anyone say’s it, yes there is a lot of “other promotions” out there. But can any of them truly match the WWE? Hopefully, in 2016 someone stands up to that challenge..
