Does Sting Bring Anything To WWE?

The rumor going around right now, is Sting going to WWE? This has become a yearly rumor on the internet and we might just get it this year.

The “Icon” is one of the most well recognized figures in wrestling due to his years being in WCW (World Championship Wrestling) from the colored face paints all the way to the black and white attire, from him coming from the ceiling to the ring. Sting is a legend none the less, but does he bring anything to WWE?

The 54 year old has been in TNA full time since 2005 and been out of the WWE spotlight. With Sting’s contract assumingly ended with Total Nonstop Action Impact Wrestling, the rumors are going nuts right now to see if he is indeed going to WWE.

The rumor of the “Icon” taking on the “Dead man” at the grandest stage of them all (WrestleMania) has been fueled by Sting’s yearly decision of should he stay at TNA or go to WWE? Back in 2011 it might have come true and honestly that is the closest we every got to see Sting versus The Undertaker at WrestleMania. For the fans of the 1990’s that is a fantasy or a dream match to say the least. Two guys who have carried the black colors for two rival companies at the time was always a dream to see.

Now with the Undertaker only wrestling once a year and Sting in his mid-fifties is that really a match you want to see? Taker can still go with anyone and always has the match of the night caliber matches on WrestleMania. The real question is, can Sting bring his part of the match to everyone’s expectations?

Sting is a one-time NWA world heavyweight champion, six time WCW world champion and if anyone count’s four time TNA world champion. Some will and some will not count TNA’s hall of fame important accomplishment. He has proven to be a legend and I believe Sting is a WWE hall of famer no doubt.

His rivalries with Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan and fighting the NWO are his career highlights. The only problem is in his career is that he has never wrestled in WWE where everyone believes that is the top wrestling promotion ever. Which I would have to agree with that.

While he has been in TNA as of late, his matches have decreased and not lived to the standard that everyone has been used to see from the Stinger. With that being in mind, what can he bring to World Wrestling Entertainment?

He can bring legend status to the company, he can have DVD’s, commentary, on air roles and special appearance with one or two matches a year. Of course there is more he can do, but you get the idea.

As far as a full-time guy, I can’t see it. He is not even a full-time wrestler for TNA anymore. TNA does not run as many live events, TV and PPV compared to WWE. Some people could make the argument that he could be a part-time wrestler, he could but does he bring that much to WWE in that kind of role? No not in my opinion. He can make special appearances for Raw, maybe WrestleMania. So with that being said yes he can bring something to WWE.

Let me hear you in the comment area below and thanks for reading along.
