It is clear that WWE has lost the edginess that was seen in the late 90s and early 00s. But what if these two eras were to collide and fight to see which era was more dominant? I believe there is some direct lines between matches that I would absolutely like to see.

Pre-Show: Sheamus vs. William Regal

Sheamus has shown that he can put on a lot of good matches if paired with the right person (Daniel Bryan, Big Show, etc.). But guess what else? William Regal is one of the most underrated wrestlers of all time. The technicality combined with power cannot be understated. I think that Sheamus comes out with the win here.

Winner: Sheamus

Daniel Bryan vs. Chris Benoit – Submission Match

I am not even going to get into Chris Benoit, but let’s just keep at he is one of the best technical wrestlers to ever have stepped into WWE. Daniel Bryan wrestles a similar, technical style, whereas he would like to focus on body parts. This match, in my opinion, would absolutely be one that hardcore wrestling fans would not want to miss. Not to mention that it would feature which Crossface is truly better. I would absolutely pay top dollar to see this match. Both men have strong wills to not tap out, but at the end of the day, I give the slightest of edges to Chris Benoit. The man is too aggressive.

Winner: Chris Benoit

CM Punk vs. Kurt Angle – 30 Minute Iron Man

Besides the fact that Kurt Angle and CM Punk have been at it in real life before, this would be another match that would absolutely blow the roof of the place. Imagine the type of technicality that would be seen between these two men. I like the combination of Kurt Angle’s mat to mat wrestling style combined with the hybrid style of Punk. At the end of the day, no man can out wrestle Kurt in a real match so I say Punk cannot hang on to the Ankle Lock.

Winner: Kurt Angle

Bray Wyatt vs. Mankind – No Holds Barred

Which man is more devious and willing? We all know Mankind has faced insurmountable pain in the past. Not to mention the fact that he has been absolutely psychotic in the past before. But what about Bray Wyatt? Sure, he has had an unsuccessful career, but could he use his mental instability in the ring and defeat Mankind at his own game? I certainly think it is more than possible. It is kind of a tough match to draw, but I think i like Bray a bit better. Mankind/Mick Foley tends to lose a lot of matches that has no disqualification stipulations (HHH, Orton, Edge, Undertaker).

Winner: Bray Wyatt

The Shield vs. The Dudley Boyz (D-Von, Bubba and Spike) : Tables Match

The Triple Powerbomb vs. 3-D. I don’t know about you guys, but I love this match, especially the stipulation. It is clear that both teams have different styles of wrestling, but they can put their teamwork to the test in a 3 on 3 tables match. We all know how much we loved how Bubba and D-Von would chant their famous catchphrase: GET THE TABLES!!!! But would they believe in what The Shield can do? After the match, I think they will. Triple Powerbomb on poor little Spike.

Winner: The Shield

Dolph Ziggler vs X-Pac

I don’t know but I think that these two can really mesh in the ring together. There is some potential to this match and I think it would be pretty darn interesting. I would say that X Pac gets the win after D-X interferes.

Winner: X-Pac

Antonio Cesaro vs. Chris Jericho – 2 out of 3 Falls

This match would absolutely be a show-stealer. Come on, Cesaro is one of the best to come from the indies. Jericho is one of the best wrestlers of all time. This match would absolutely be epic. Jericho is wonderful because he likes to put younger people over, and I think to solidify Antonio Cesaro as a legit threat, I like Cesaro’s chances coming out of this. But, i also think that he can look good in defeat as well.

Winner: Chris Jericho

John Cena vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin

I get that Cena/Rock was a dream matchup, but I would pay to see this match even more. It’s just because these two men represent completely different styles that make it more interesting. The thing with The Rock and John Cena is that they are too similar in that they were both the top in their respective eras. You have Steve Austin, the man who does nothing but drink beer and kick ass. You have John Cena, who wants everybody to leave smiling. I love this match, and at the end of the day, give me Stone Cold on this one.

Winner: Stone Cold Steve Austin

Randy Orton vs. The Rock

I think that that this is a dream match that doesn’t get talked about enough. Randy Orton and The Rock are two examples of people within WWE that has wrestling in their bones. They were both made to do this. They have the look, the feel, the moveset and the overall personality of what a top superstar should look like within the WWE. This match should be highly anticipated and I also believe that their styles would work in the ring. I say that The Rock wins by a slim margin but Orton is more than capable of giving us an upset.

Winner: The Rock
