NXT is Now!

What is up one and all? Roughly two weeks ago, the WWE Network kicked off. I will honestly say when there was the news of the Network originally before anything truly came to fruition, I thought the Network would never actually come together. I am glad it did. Now, NXT originally aired on Sci Fi. The first season, I watched every episode. It was new! It was fresh! Then, as each season went on, I watched less and less. Then FCW became NXT, and instead of featuring a select # of talents, it featured everyone in FCW/NXT. Out of there we’ve got The Wyatt Family, Big E Langston, Cesaro, and others. NXT was something I always wanted to watch, but unless I found a streaming site, I never got the chance or time to. Well, with the news of the Network coming about, we also learned of NXT Arrival. I’ll be honest, I didn’t watch it the night it aired. I actually didn’t watch it until this weekend. For any of you who have the Network, or are trying the trial, take the time to watch this show.

Here is what I have found to love with NXT between watching the Arrival episode, and then this weeks episode. NXT finds a way to perfect to blend story telling, actual wrestling, and gimmicks all into one tight fit show. Look at Arrival. The matches of the night for me were Sami Zayn vs Cesaro, and Emma vs Paige. Then look at this past weeks NXT episode. You got the debut of Adam Rose aka the former Leo Kruger, and while his gimmick was different and some might consider “Fandangoish”, I actually really enjoyed it. I see him as the type of character that hen cutting promos can come off as silly/goofy and sometimes serious, and when he is in the ring mixing that silly/goofiness with the seriousness. We also got a good match in Zayn vs Corey Graves.

Each week on Raw and Smackdown, we get a mixture of comedy, seriousness, and actual wrestling. Some weeks, the WWE really delivers. Other weeks the WWE will hit on one category, but miss on the others. In my eyes, NXT is hitting on all categories. Here is a rough rundown of Arrival, and then of this recent NXT episode. On Arrival, we got Cesaro vs Zayn, CJ Parker vs Mojo Rawley, The Ascension vs Too Cool, Paige vs Emma, Xavier Woods vs Tyler Breeze, and the ladder match between Adrian Neville and Bo Dallas. On this weeks episode of NXT we got Adrian Neville vs Camacho, a promo from Neville and Ballas, Emma vs Charlotte, a Corey Graves promo, and then Graves vs Tatsu. Then we got an Adam Rose vignette, and then Rose vs Wesley Blake. To end the night, we got Zayn vs Graves. Look at all of that. Seriously look. Out of all of those matches from the last two shows, really only 1 I can call bad which is Woods vs Breeze because really it didn’t do anything other than have Rusev attack both men. Looking at both of these shows, they were both pretty damn good!

My point is this. NXT is worth watching now, and gives us all a glimpse of the future. For anyone looking for a genuinely good show that only eats up an hour of your time, then this is the show to watch. As always, I look forward to all of your guys comments and thoughts!
