Well done WWE, Well done..

One final segment does not a show make, but hell it’s a start. This past RAW was one of the better shows I’ve seen in a while, it was still full of stale moments but the slammy awards broke the monotony nicely. You can’t deny that the show lacks depth regularly, but I acquait that to lack of talent, and not because they don’t have it, but because it needs to be built.

I love that WWE choose to showcase the hometown hero, Daniel Bryan. They knew going into it that fans were going to be extra unruly about him this week, and they gave him the spotlight. I’m also glad that Triple H, Cena, and Orton acknowledged him during their promos. It shows exactly what I’ve been ranting about for weeks, use your words and scream. You’re paying to keep WWE’s lights on so tell em what you want. The people of Seattle, Washington did that to perfection.

Now obviously the part of the show that made RAW so good was that final 25 minute stretch. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the show can be shit till the end, but you have to leave fans wanting more. That’s something we’ve lost in pro wrestling and it’s what makes weekly TV dramas successful. When Sons of Anarchy ends each week, I let out a sigh a say “shit… I gotta wait a week?” For those of you who read my work regularly, you know how harsh I am with WWE on this particular topic, also you guys kick ass, Michael loves you. But I digress, fact is for the first time in a long time, I actually WANT to see a PPV.

There’s been a lot of uncertainty with story lines lately, and it’s caused me to become frustrated. One would assume that The Shield vs Punk match is somehow tied to the Authority story line, but they’ve barely scratched the surface of the topic and it’s been bugging me. Well needless to say when CM Punk got physically involved at the end of the show with Triple H and Orton, I could have screamed with joy. Finally, in just minutes, you created questions and twists that people are gonna want to see unfold, and with Triple H pedigreeing Orton and standing with Cena I’m even more intrigued. You created a hundred different potential outcomes and everyone is going to want to know what happens next.

And thus we come to the moment of truth, the moment where WWE has inexplicably destroyed more than one could ever recall. A great idea that is poorly executed, that is the norm for WWE. You’re coming off one of the better pieces of mic work you’re ever gonna get between Cena and Orton, and you have a whole mess of talent ready to be involved after Monday. You have potential feuds and stories ready to drop, and you have people waiting for the “big ending”. So now do you capitalize and give fans a show where we go “woah that was a bad ass show.” Or do we tune in Sunday night and you rewrite story lines because you think fans will see the ending coming, maybe someone made an accurate prediction online so now you can’t use it. Don’t screw this up, regain your PPV customers Sunday and make me tune in on Monday. Or don’t and I’ll be back here Sunday night telling you what hot garbage your product has become. Now go sign AJ Styles and don’t just make him a mid card jobber, he’s the reason I started watching TNA. I will rain down a hell storm of biblical proportions, the likes of which you have never seen before if you turn him into Christian. DO NOT FUCK THIS UP.

As always thanks for reading everyone. Be sure to get at me on Twitter @MikeyPellerito and I’ll follow back. I hope to hear your thoughts and opinions from now till Sunday.

On a side note, The New Age Outlaws are my favorite tag team ever. I wish they’d come back, but I can’t believe they choose to rip off Kaz and Daniels on the dumb and dumber tuxes. I guess it goes to show how deeply those within WWE believe their audience isn’t watching TNA.
