What is up one and all? It is I, the one and only Bearkg88 back to bring you another edition of One Man’s Thoughts. This time, I’ll be giving you my thoughts on tonight’s Raw! Ill be using the same format from my Uncooked blog series, with the good, the bad, and the indifferent. So I’m not going to keep on yapping, instead, I’ll get straight into it!

The Good

*Big E Langston/Rhodes Bros vs Shield

The first good thing of the night for me was this 6 man tag match. Now, most of the time the Shields 6 man tag matches are good, and this was no exception. I liked the back and forth, and the ending. I wouldn’t be surprised if in the Rumble, Roman Reigns ends up passing Kane in the total number of eliminations in a single Rumble. This match was a good first match of the night, and makes me excited for the Royal Rumble.

*Bryan/Wyatt promo

Next up we get a Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt promo. I know some are not high on Bray, but I am not one of those people. When Wyatt cuts a promo, a good promo, I get chills. While there is such a big part of me that hopes and prays Bryan wins in his match against Wyatt, and then wins the Rumble, I think we will see Bryan only get one win on Sunday. I think Bryan will beat Bray, and then go into the Rumble, make it towards the end, and be eliminated. Good segment though, and a good way to hype Sunday.

*Rey Mysterio vs ADR

Originally I was going to list this as bad as I feel like before the commercial, this match really didn’t take off. It was after coming back from the commercial, a few minutes into the match at that point, the rest of the match, and then the after match events, that made this good for me. We’ve seen Mysterio vs ADR plenty of others time, and there was a big part of me that wanted to see Rey win. The thing was at the end, it became clear at least in my eyes. ADR wins, and then…Batista is here! I was really hoping for something different for Batista other than putting ADR down, but hey, it was better than nothing..right?

*Big Show/Brock Lesnar

For me, I will always remember two things when I think of Brock Lesnar vs Big Show. The first being their match at the 2002 Survivor Series for the WWE Championship, where Paul turned on Brock and helped Big Show win. The second thing being when Brock superplexed Big Show off the top turnbuckle, and the ring broke. When this match was announced, I wasn’t sure what to think. Tonight though, got me into the idea of this match. Just seeing Big Show man handle Brock, and then Brock’s rage on the outside, just priceless. I really enjoyed this segment.

*The Usos vs The Wyatt Family

It would seem at least for me, there have been two matches that before the commercial break, nothing was working for me, but after the commercial, things picked up. I liked the second part of this match after the commercial. I liked the ending with the Uso’s winning. I liked Bryan attacking Bray. I honestly hope in 2014 we get to see The Usos hold the tag titles. If there is one team that hasn’t held them that I think is deserving, it is these guys.

The Bad

*Fandango vs Woods

I’m going to vent here, so bear with me. You have this whole thing with Xavier Woods, R Truth, and Tons of Funk where Brodus turns heel, and it seems like Tons of Funk is split. Woods and Truth get wins over them, and then what? It just ends, with no explanation. The WWE missed on a prime chance to take Clay, and make him into the monster that I, and I can only guess others, wanted to see. That is not the end of it though. They build of Woods. Hell I think he is entertaining in the ring. They put him into a match with Fandango…and Fandango squashes Woods. Let me repeat that. FAN-FREAKING-DANGO squashed Woods. Talk about a slap to the face moment! I’ve never been a fan of Fandango, and still think Jericho shouldn’t have had to put him over at WM 29. This match did nothing for me, and in my eyes, just hurt Woods. Ok…venting is over.

*Orton vs Kofi/Aftermath

We end the night, on this note, what I feel was a bad note. I enjoyed the Kofi/Orton match last week, and I enjoyed the aftermath with Orton attacking Cena’s dad. This week though, it took a 180 for me. I would have loved to see something so different with this being the final Raw before the Rumble. Hell you could have still done the Orton vs Kofi, have Orton win, and then call Cena out. Cena comes out, and the two start fighting, and the whole locker room spills out to separate them, but they still keep trying to get to one another. This just didn’t work for me, and didn’t get me hyped for the championship match this Sunday.

The Indifferent

*Opening Promo/Orton/HHH/Batista

We kick the night off with a promo from The Authority, which leads to Orton coming out, which then leads to Batista coming out. For me at least, this opening did not do much. Yeah it is great that Batista is back, yeah he made his intentions clear that I am sure myself and others knew were his intentions even before this promo, and yeah, it gave us a glimpse of what could be the title picture for WM30. This opening just felt…i don’t know..not like the right thing for the final show before the Royal Rumble.

*CM Punk vs Gunn

Another match from tonight, Punk vs Gunn. I personally wasn’t a fan of this match. I like the New Age Outlaws, I like them cutting promos, hell I even like them still in the ring, but this match was just..meh. The aftermath with Kane naming Punk the #1 contender was ok as well. Part of me wonders if we see Punk run the match and end up winning. Time will tell. This was an ok match, and helped further the Punk/Authority storyline.

*Diva’s Tag Match

Before this match, we get video of AJ and her celebration and no one coming. She then accidentally throws a cake into Tamina’s face. So with that in mind, we get this tag match. I would have rather seen the Bellas face Lee and Tamina, but oh well. I’m wonder if we will get an unannounced Diva’s title match at the Rumble.

Final Thoughts!!!!

This was the final Raw before the Royal Rumble. Friday, we get Smackdown, and maybe we will see some stuff to really hype the PPV. This show, some of the matches and segments really worked, and some, not so much. Nonetheless I am really looking forward to the PPV still, and can’t wait to see what comes. Instead of doing another editorial on my predictions for the PPV(as I am sure a few others will do that), I’m just going to give a quick run down of my thoughts below, and that will be the end. I look forward to reading any and all comments. Thanks for reading guys!
