Prediction Day: Survivor Series 2014

Hello and welcome back to prediction day!

PPV Prediction: Survivor Series 2014

Survivor series is the second longest running PPV in the
WWE, with a plethora of classic matches, such as: Team WWF vs Team Alliance
(2001), Montreal screw job (1997), Elimination chamber 1 (2002) etc. This year’s
survivor series may not live up to some of the past matches, but it does
provide something very important. This year’s main event showcases the
continued rise of Rollins, attempts to revive the careers of Ziggler and
Ryback, and welcomes Harper, Rusev, and Rowan to the main event. This is a
match with a long term strategy, something WWE rarely does. This is the perfect
PPV to give away for free.

Fandango vs. TBA

Winner – TBA

Rating: 2/5

Fandango’s opponent has not been announced as of yet, but
one can hope it will be Xavier Woods, Kofi, or Big E. It’s the most logical
sense to debut their new faction on a free PPV. Let them make an impact on the
man who defeated Chris Jericho at Wrestlemania (it still irks me to say that).

AJ Lee vs. Nikki Bella – Title match

Winner – Nikki Bella

Rating: 3/5

If AJ carries the majority of the match, and they’re given
more than 3 minutes to wrestle, this may be an enjoyable Diva’s match. Nikki
winning leads to Brie vs. Nikki setup for the title, which was bound to happen.
There have also been reports of AJ leaving the WWE. Factoring both of these in,
it looks like Nikki will win.

Alicia Fox, Emma, Naomi and Natalya vs. Paige, Cameron,
Layla and Summer Rae – Traditional Survivor Series match

Winner – Team Fox

Rating: 2.5/5

I am expecting this match to have the girls score some quick
eliminations and this match to be over within 10 minutes. It’s been quite a
while since they have had an enjoyable multi-Diva tag team match. With Nikki
(likely) winning the title, expect to see a happy-feeling babyface Diva team to
win.

Gold and Stardust vs. The Usos vs. Los Matadors vs. The Miz
and Mizdow – Title match

Winner – The Miz and Damien Mizdow

Rating: 3/5

This may be a bit of a stretch, but I am putting my chips on
Miz and Mizdow winning the titles for two reasons. Reason one is that they are
hot right now, and Mizdow is completely over with the crowd. They are featuring
a YouTube show on the team, and Mizdow has new shirts on the WWE shop. The
team is also making The Miz more watchable as of late. The second reason I am
picking them to win is because this is a fatal 4-way match. This way, there is
no heel vs. heel(ish) match for the title. The Miz can pin Diego and still win the
titles. Other than that, the quality of the match has the potential to be good,
but it will likely suffer from time constraint. Expect some flying Usos, some lucha moves from Diego and Fernando, some random spot with El Torito,
and a huge pop for Mizdow.

Bray Wyatt vs. Dean Ambrose

Winner – Dean Ambrose

Rating: 3.5/5

A lackluster build should still see a great match between
the two. Dean Ambrose winning makes logical sense, since Bray’s feuds usually
begin with the other person winning, and him still continuing to come after
them. I only predict this to be a 3.5/5 because I feel like this match is just
building to a larger match later one. Hopefully this will lead to some sort of
extreme rules/tables/street fight match at TLC between the two.

Team Cena (John Cena, Dolph Ziggler, Big Show, Erick Rowan
and Ryback) vs. Team Authority (Seth Rollins, Kane, Mark Henry, Rusev and Luke
Harper)

Winner – Team Cena

Rating: 4/5

Ryback – eliminate Kane, eliminated by Rollins

Erick Rowan – eliminate Harper, eliminated by Rollins

Big Show – eliminate no one, eliminated by Mark Henry

Dolph Ziggler – eliminate Henry, eliminated by Rusev

John Cena – eliminate Rollins, eliminated by no one

Rusev – eliminated via DQ

Even though I have high hopes for this match, I still think
creative will take the safe route. If that’s the case, the best case scenario
is that they don’t rely on “Super Cena” to overcome the odds against the entire
team. I can’t see Rusev being pinned, so expect some sort of DQ. Ideally, Cena
would get eliminated in the middle of the match, leaving someone new to step up
to win the main event. Rowan and Harper will have a good spat, Ryback will hit
some pops, and Big show & Henry at one point will be the only guys in the
ring and have some sort of slugfest. The possibilities of this match are
endless, so let’s hope for the best.
