Resurrecting the Game

Triple HHH has been involving himself more and more inside the squared circle, making some believe he is ready to lace up the boots again.
The current storyline between himself and Daniel Bryan seems to be headed for
the long haul, making it reminiscent of the Vince and Stone Cold parody that took
us through the Attitude Era. In my opinion, I think the WWE has played their
hand extremely well with some interesting twists to this saga leading us up to
Wrestlemania 30.

It all seemed inevitable that Daniel Bryan would face Triple
HHH at the big dance, but we all were just waiting to see how it would be
approached. This was the setup for the Occupy Raw movement, which I thought was
one of the best Raw segments planned for television in a very long time. We all
knew Triple HHH was going to say YES, but instead of the usual lackluster
announcement of a match they needed an interesting way to build up to the
response. This is exactly what they did, leaving the WWE universe asking a
week’s worth of questions when it was announced that Daniel Bryan would be
included into the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match if he was able to
defeat the Cerebral Assassin.

As the weeks had passed by, many of us knew there would be
some sort of changeup to the Wrestlemainia 30 Main Event involving Daniel
Bryan, but just weren’t sure how it would be orchestrated.  The triple threat stipulation cleared this
up, but left us with another burning question. What if Triple HHH defeats
Daniel Bryan? This was pondered for a week until Triple HHH came out on Raw and
announced that if he is victorious he will be inserted into the main event at
Wrestlemania 30.

Everyone was trending around the world about The Game
returning, wondering if this was a setup to add intrigue to an inevitable
Daniel Bryan victory or if The Game was going to have one last Title run. Lets
ponder this for a second and think about the implication of a Triple HHH
victory to be crowned New WWE World Heavyweight Champion. As evident in recent
weeks, Triple HHH has always been excellent as a heel and has the physical
stature to capitalize on one last run as the number one player in the
business.  The scenario that keeps
playing out in my head is Triple HHH holding the title up until he would
eventually lose the belt to Daniel Bryan at SummerSlam. I am pondering a
reversal of fortunes as Triple HHH would actually be screwed in some facet by
long time friend and Daniel Bryan mentor, HBK. In a reversal of fortunes,
Daniel Bryan would get his sweet revenge for what happened at last year’s
SummerSlam, leaving Triple HHH outraged and distraught.

Obviously, this is only my opinion, but I think it makes
sense because it gives this current storyline, one of the best in recent years,
more time to materialize and grow. It also could get the WWE through some of
their lower rated PPV’s and help them construct the progress of some mid-card
talents along the way. The new “Reality Era,” as The Game has labeled it, could
be the setup needed to add a nice little changeup from the typical Randy Orton
and John Cena title runs. At any rate, whether you agree or disagree, this
storyline has, at the very least picked up a lot of steam as we lead on to
April 6, 2014.
