Thinking Out Loud: The Hell of Heyman

Ever since CM Punk sat down at the top of the ramp on an episode of RAW in July, Paul Heyman became an asset to WWE once again. Since then, multiple guys have seen different levels of success aligning themselves with the Mad Scientist himself. In some cases, it makes for a great, terrific run. Others don’t seem to have what it takes even with Paul E. In their corner. But in this weeks edition of Thinking Out Loud, we look at some guys who might benefit greatly with Paul Heyman in their corner.

The first one is going to throw EVERYONE off. Honestly, I can’t even believe I’m going to say this, but just imagine the possibilities. What if AJ Lee had Paul in her corner? Could you believe the havoc they’d wreak on the Divas division? AJ is crazy enough as it is, but having Heyman in her corner each and every week would make her even more of a threat. Not to mention that it would put Heyman in a very unusual spot. I can only imagine him being her mouthpiece (And I should be careful with how I word that to some of you). I can see AJ coming down to the ring, and saying something sub par. But then, Heyman gets on the mic and says that if they want a shot with his client they’d have to earn it. Blah Blah. Just let it digest for a moment, and then tell me you wouldn’t want to see it. I doubt that.

Then there are ones who need a complete makeover. Kofi Kingston is someone that I can see being a Paul Heyman guy. Think about this as a storyline; Kofi turns heel, and says that he’s tired of losing each and every week, and said town has lowlife in it, blah blah blah. You know, typical heel stuff. Then, he goes to leave, but says he forgot to introduce you to his new business partner, which in turn is Paul Heyman. Would anyone see that coming? I know I wouldn’t…Well, now I would since I just said it, but you get my drift. Look, Kofi is decent on the microphone, but that’s not his problem. His problem is that when he “Wrestles” he’s just too…Goofy. I mean come on. Can anyone take him seriously as he is now? Sure he has sparks of confidence, but if HBK had just sparks of confidence in his ability only sometimes, I doubt he’d be a Hall of Famer. What I’m getting at is that Kofi is just a heel turn and a great manager away from making a potential serious push. Will he be main event material? I don’t see it, but there is always a chance if he can shine through with the right manager. Hmmm….

This one will get some of you thinking. What about the Wyatts? Oh man! That sent a wrestling goosebumps down my spine! With the current storyline with Daniel Bryan, wouldn’t that be something if sometime down the line it is revealed that Paul is not just their leader, not just their adversary, but their…father? As a potential storyline twist, how cool would it be if Paul Heyman was the one who sent them to seek malice upon Daniel Bryan? I can only imagine Paul Heyman getting on his knees and having his arms up like Bray Wyatt does and saying to “Follow The Buzzards”. That pairing of the four of them just sends an ultimate freaky chill. But, it’s the pairings like that, that make it entertaining. It makes it worthwhile to watch, and to be (And dare I say) entertained.

The next one is someone I always wanted Paul to team up with. This person happens to be…The Worlds Strongest Man. Now, as it stands, Mark Henry is already a dominating force, therefore some of you can argue that Mark doesn’t need Paul whatsoever. But, wait a minute. Couldn’t we have said the same thing when Lesnar debuted? What about CM Punk? Did he need him also? No, Punk was already champion when he brought Paul along. Anyway, I see Mark Henry (Again turning Heel, unfortunately) pairing with Paul Heyman, and down the line turning on Big E. That would be a good “Passing The Torch” moment, if you will. I mean, Big E. Langston already wears Mark Henry’s Nation of Domination colors…Esque.

I swear, I must be on the big monster tear. Last but not least, what about Brodus Clay? It looks as if they’re pushing him into that heel direction, so why not? Brodus in my opinion is not that good on the microphone. Paul could be just the guy to propel him into a mid card title run. Whether or not he would be a threat at any point would be entirely up to Brodus and his in-ring work from there. That would be pretty good to see all around.
