Was Cena the right choice to win the MITB Championship match?

It’s been a few weeks now since John
Cena walked away with the Money In The Bank championship win and after analysis
I ask the question, was he the right man to win? For me – the answer is a
simple no. If we look at all the competitors in the match, who needed it most?

For me the obvious answer is no. With
Daniel Bryan having the vacate the title he will return at some point and once
again fight all odds to have his title shot again. When Bryan returns will the
WWE Universe lap up a face vs face scrap for the title in the form of
Cena/Bryan?  I’d say no.

Seth Rollins and Kane now have an affiliation with HHH so he
will always be in and around the main event, plus the programme Seth Rollins has
going on with Dean Ambrose would have been enough to keep him relevant until
SummerSlam (Where no doubt, he will have a say in the way the title changes
hands) because of his new found friendship with HHH. Having Dean Ambrose
stopping Rollins cashing in is quite interesting and will stay entertaining and
Kane will probably never have a title run again – this was just another way to
enforce a ‘plan B’ and the Authority.

Roman Reigns will get his chance, he’s
the next big babyface of the company, and with a potential opportunity to face
HHH one on one, Reigns title push can wait, he will get there eventually – he doesn’t
need it (yet). Sheamus has become about as relevant as Khali unfortunately, and
with one piece of gold around his waist there is no way he was getting a second
– let’s face it, he’s not Stone Cold or The Rock, is he?. Everything I just
said applies for both Randy Orton and Alberto Del Riiiiooo – boring, stale and
somehow still in the main event picture. No, just no.

That leaves me with two. ‘The King of swing’ with the best mouthpiece in the business,
Antonio Cesaro. It’s a tough one, because I’m sure the WWE would have wanted to
give him more by now, since he got over with Heyman at Mania they have taken
him down the heel route with no genuine fued and he’s frazzling out abit. He
would have been my second choice however my firm pick was the eater of worlds –
Bray Wyatt. After successful programmes with Cena and Daniel Bryan this was the
PERFECT chance to put him right in with the big boys. With Cena picking up the
belt and Lesnar’s return inevitable it leaves Bray Wyatt in a strange position.
Non of us want to see Bray Wyatt be paired with somebody like the Miz to keep
him on television. This week we saw the start of a Jericho vs Wyatt feud (which
don’t get me wrong, is awesome) however that isn’t main event. Wyatt is main
event. What’s the plan when Jericho leaves again in 2 months?…oh wait.. isn’t
Batista back then?
