After a Money In The Bank PPV which saw a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion being crowned, the WWE heads to the Tampa Bay Times Forum in Tampa, Florida for WWE Battleground on Sunday, July 20th, 2014.
And so without further delay, here's what to expect:
Who will face John Cena?
With rumors that John Cena will be facing Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam on Sunday, August 17th, the question on everyone's minds is who will Cena face for the WWE Championship at Battleground? There are certainly several possibilities. But it's too soon for Cesaro while Randy Orton will most likely be facing Roman Reigns.
The only logical choice would be Kane. Yes, I know that Cena vs. Kane has been done to death many times before, but knowing WWE Creative, Kane has experience in the main event and that WWE doesn't want to take a chance with some new blood.
Is Dean Ambrose's The Authority's next target?
Dean Ambrose's chance to win the coveted Money In The Bank briefcase was ended when Kane chokeslammed him, allowing his former Shield teammate Seth Rollins to grab the briefcase. Look for Ambrose to get his revenge on Rollins as well as Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in weeks heading into Battleground.
Other possible storylines.
Look for Cesaro to emerge as Sheamus opponent for the United States Championship. Expect the Usos to feud once again with The Wyatt Family for the WWE Tag Team Championships, and Paige may possibly be facing Cameron for the Divas Championship.
