Which Surprise Entrants May Show Up At The 2015 Royal Rumble

With the Royal Rumble just weeks away, there’s always speculation on who may be a few surprise entrants. Here’s my list excluding Daniel Bryan considering we all know he’s returning.

Here are my prediction of who may surprise us with their in ring return, or debut.

Bo Dallas
Even though Bo has been out due to a foot injury, there’s still a chance that he could have healed up miraculously and will return at the Royal Rumble. Even if he isn’t 100% healed he could come back and get eliminated right away saying that no matter what he always Bo-lieved that he would return.

Randy Orton
Orton’s return has been pushed back for a bit, specifically due to a deviated septum injury he suffered. Orton has undergone surgery is said to be returning at the Royal Rumble. Though for Orton I also believe that he’ll get involved in the Main Event leading to a feud between him and Seth Rollins.
Following the Main Event, I see Lesnar retaining his title after a long match. Rollins attacks both Lesnar and Cena with a weapon and tries to cash-in his MITB case. As the ref almost calls for the bell Orton runs in and connects an RKO laying out Rollins thus beginning their feud; but also not officially cashing in his case. Orton leaves and returns later to the Royal Rumble. I don’t expect him to win, but at least he’ll be a returning superstar.

Alex Riley
There’s been some talk lately of Alex Riley returning to the ring. He’s thrown a few hashtags out there, #FreeRiley #RileyWalks. He wants to get back in the ring and I don’t blame him, if he’s comfortable in the ring let him compete. I say for the Royal Rumble Riley will return to WWE Televised TV though he won’t last too long.

The Bunny?
As ridiculous as this sounds, yes I am saying that the Bunny will also not only make a return but debut in the Royal Rumble, possible even being the next entrant after Adam Rose. The Bunny takes him out and then gets taken out himself by someone else; just another feud starter.

Darren Young
Darren Young has been out with an ACL injury and needed a re-image for himself. He has been out of the ring for over a year but has been training hard and trying to work out what he wants to do and how he wants to look. This past Raw he was seen standing beside Cena which tells us that he’s already back in the WWE. His re-packaging to be honest is not at all that bad. He looks different, he looks angry and at the 2015 Royal Rumble, Darren Young returns to the WWE ring. Now he won’t be the winner of the Rumble, but at least he may focus on the one guy that back stabbed him and that’s Titus O’Neil.

David Otunga
Davis has been missing from consistent ring work for a bit. He was a part of the 2013 Royal Rumble and even competed in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 30. But since those appearances he appears to be doing more backstage promotional work than anything else. Though Otunga status with WWE still showcases him as an active competitor, I assume he’ll make an appearance at the 2015 Royal Rumble but not last long.

Mark Henry
Henry has been out on injury for a few months now and his status with WWE seems bleak.  It’s understandable that the man is reaching a point in his life where WWE’s travel schedule can be a bit hectic, especially when the company has no storyline or feud to put you in. His latest feud was being apart of Team Authority at Survivor Series only to be the first competitor eliminated by Big Show’s WMD, way to seem unimportant. Following Survivor Series Henry has been out with injury. I’m assuming that the 2015 Royal Rumble will be his last as he reaches a point where retirement is a valid option for him. This time it won’t be a fake retirement just to get close to John Cena and attack, I believe his time has come.

Rey Mysterio
Rey Mysterio has had a very controversial year with WWE. Following the Royal Rumble in 2014 Mysterio got a very negative reaction from the crowd, but that was due to the fact that he was the last entrant in the Rumble where everyone wanted Daniel Bryan.  Following multiple injuries WWE under their own discretion had extended his contract due to him missing a lot of time in the ring. He has a minimum requirement to compete X amount of matches, if he doesn’t meet it, WWE will extend the contract. Mysterio was not fond of this and pretty much has stopped doing any work, and stopped cashing WWE cheques, all he wants is to be free from the company.
Considering Mysterio is still a part of the active roster and his recent tweets have teased at a possible return, I believe that he and WWE may have come to a conclusion where if he wrestles in the Royal Rumble his contract will end shortly after. This would allow Rey to focus more on Mexican wrestling promotions which apparently are willing to offer big $$$ for him. I don’t blame him, he is one of the originals to come into the North American scene and introduce Lucha Libra style to all of us, in a way Mysterio is a legend in the business. I will say that I wouldn’t mind seeing him fly around a WWE ring one more time.

Sheamus
The Celtic Warrior! Sheamus in my books is a definite superstar to return at the Royal Rumble, not only that he’s expected to return as a heel, possibly even eliminating another baby-face competitor. Sheamus has been off with a stinger injury in his shoulder and has gotten a surgical procedure to correct it. He has been in Ireland for a bit and did a few promotional adverts for WWE. His return would bring the ass kicking Celtic Warrior back to the WWE, and if rumors are true, he’ll be joining up with the Authority turning on John Cena.  Welcome back Fella!

NXT?
If WWE were smart, utilizing the NXT talents would also help add a bit more excitement to the Royal Rumble match, though adding them does take away from possible spots for the WWE main roster but in all reality NXT has had more excitement in a few weeks than WWE has for all of 2014.
Guys like Neville, Zayn, Owens, Aiden English, Balor, Enzo and a butt load more can truly make a good impact in the match. Though they wouldn’t win for obvious reasons considering they are only developmental talents, it would at least kick-start them to grasp more attention from the main show crowds then just the simple die-hard wrestling/NXT fans, just a thought.

Those are my picks for who would be the more likely surprise entrants to the 2015 Royal Rumble.
