Why Is Bret Hart Still So Bitter?

First off, i would like to say Bret Hart was an absolute legend for his contribution to wrestling, no doubt about that. 99% of the time Bret executed wrestling clinics to perfection, his technical ability and in-ring psychology was something to behold.

Now, we all know how Bret exited wrestling from The Motreal Screwjob to the death of his brother Owen Hart, then that kick from Goldberg which ultimately ended his career. For a guy that contributed so much for his career to end like that was devastating, and obviously affected Bret.

The thing is, that was the 90’s, and through the years he’s “supposedly” buried the hatchet, fast forward to the year 2015 and Bret Hart is more bitter than ever, the man can hold a grudge forever. Bret is known these days for being bitter and miserable, he often goes off on his own rants, which usually consist of the same things. Sometimes he does tend to speak his mind, tell it like it is, i liked that, but each year his rants are becoming very repetitive and annoying, they’re actually quite embarrassing to read as a fan. Bret’s laying into everyone this year, and he’s laying it down hard.

Here are some from Bret’s Bitter Interviews from 2015: In which i rate a solid 4/10!

Bret when asked if Hulk Hogan could one day possibly return to WWE.

“Let’s hope not,” The Hitman said. “Let’s really hope that he lives with himself in Tampa and stays there in his little world in idol worship of himself. I’m not a big Hulk Hogan fan. I kind of feel bad for him because I don’t necessarily remember him being a racist, but you know, I can say that through my experience that the vast majority—of course not all of them—but the vast majority of the white Southern wrestlers tend to be a little bit racial all the time and the n-word was frequently used in the dressing room when a black guy wasn’t around. As being a Canadian, I found that really difficult. I didn’t see eye-to-eye with that kind of stuff and I never felt like that and I’ve never been in that kind of mindset.” He’s probably glad that Rowdy Piper died when he did.

On the Kliq and there new Kliq DVD (The Kliq Rules).

“They were literally a cancer in the dressing room, all of them. I don’t doubt that Shawn Michaels is sorry for a lot of that kind of behaviour. Kevin Nash was a great wrestler and a good guy, but I don’t think he could be that proud of that association. It was a cancerous environment in the dressing room with those guys and they certainly did more negative than positive to the business. Scott Hall, all you have to do is just look at him. He’s a train-wreck with his own life and he was a malcontent, or a guy that when you were close to him long enough you start to feel the same way he did; you just felt so self-destructive and unhappy with your life and your job and everything. He was a guy that was infectious with his bad, bad sort of moods and unhappiness in his own life that would spread to all the other wrestlers. And you know, I’m glad I’m not remembered for that kind of stuff. I’m remembered – I think if you talk to different wrestlers from that era, the Savio Vega and those kinds of wrestlers that were on my cards – they’re all pretty proud of how I conducted myself, how I related to them and how I may have been the top guy but I didn’t act like a superstar; not to my friends and not to my peers.”

Bret on Owen Harts new DVD

“I’m looking forward to it but I’m not really optimistic that it’s going to be a great job. Martha Hart, Owen’s widow] handcuffed them so much. I don’t know if they’re even allowed to use any pictures from the past. It’s a poorly done DVD because of all the restraints and the limitations that Martha put on it. To me, that’s such a lousy thing to have happen. I think Owen would turn in his grave if he knew how much trouble Martha has gone to erase his career and make sure that nobody enjoys anything about his career today. It’s a bitterness and selfishness that I can’t stand by anymore. I think Martha’s taken the wrong approach and she should understand that, you know, we all miss Owen. I lost a brother, I lost a great friend and maybe one of the closest people I knew on this earth.

Bret On Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins is a great wrestler and i respect him but can’t forgive him for busting John Cena’s nose with his knee. You can’t make mistakes like that in the ring and call yourself a great wrestler when you make those kinds of mistakes.

On Owen Being Inducted Into WWE Hall Of Fame

If Owen isn’t inducted next year, he won’t attend another Hall of Fame ceremony until he and Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart are inducted as a tag team, The Hart Foundation. He also added that he hopes WWE inducts the whole Hart Foundation next year in Dallas – himself, Owen, Anvil, Brian Pillman and British Bulldog.

Bitter or Straight Talker ?

So the question i have to you is this, Is Bret Hart Bitter? Or is Bret Hart an Honest Straight Talker? I say bitter, that’s just my opinion. I’d like you to share yours.
