Why this years ‘mania could be the greatest ever

It is that time of the year. With the royal rumble done and dusted in a rather acrimonious fashion and on the backdrop of a twitter campaign against the WWE’s beloved network  a lot of fans I have met as well  as seen here have pretty low expectations regarding this years mania. However I remain optimistic that this years mania cannot only  live up to it’s billing as the best event of the year but rather go on ahead to top it’s predecessors. Here’s 5 reasons why:

5)  Paul Heyman’s ‘must see , can’t miss’ Beast:

Brock lesnar has quickly shed of a lot of the genuine animosity and anger people held against him upon defeating the undertaker at wrestlemania and has come into his own right as the foremost phenom of the business with truly awe inspiring performances highlighted particularly in the show stealing match at the royal rumble. A once in a lifetime athlete Brock’s sporadic appearance have truly become unmissable and although many believe this years Wrestlemania could be the end of his short lived renaissance in the WWE there is no reason to fear that this years mania will hold him back from showcasing his brute athleticism like only he can.

4) Legendary returns

Let’s face it. We all knew it. We saw it a mile away. But we still marked out more than ever when sting walked out on that ramp. Bringing an aura seldom seen in this era sting truly is the end of the wcw franchise in and of himself. WWE did a great job re introducing  him to the younger audience by building their entire marketing campaign of the 2k15 video game after him and it is sure to pay off when he locks horns with the cerebral assassin in a match up for the ages

3) The dead …pass the torch

As much as we love to hate on creative …and yes they can be mind bogglingly numb at times credit has to be given when it is due. Bray Wyatt’s reintroduction as a force to be reckoned (unfortunately at the expense of ziggler and Ambrose) and his redefined somewhat more focused promos have laid the framework for the kind of gimmick match that we haven’t seen since the ministry of darkness era. I expect this match to have a gimmick or false ending and set up Wyatt as the new face of fear in the wwe. A passing of the torch that perhaps might have been served better last year but as they say…better late than never. It does give you goosebumps to see the dark, sadistic promos these two will share

2) the Roman Empire or the Yes movement ?!

WWE screwed up big time. They knew it roman knew it even the rock new it when boos serenaded the arena after the rumble. However they might not end up regretting it. On the back of one of the most entertaining Smackdowns in history we were given a little taste of how much better Reigns can be made to look when he is allowed to perform against people other than Big Slow. His chemistry and friction against Bryan were electric and his presence and ability to pull of devastating special moves will combine well with Bryan’s fast paced style and Brock’s power arsenal to set up an intriguing three way.

1) Mr. Money in the bank.

Looks like a superstar. CHECK. Paid his dues. CHECK. Gets the crowd to chant this is awesome in just about every match. CHECK. Has great heel heat. CHECK. Is the wwe going to surprise us all and have this years wrestlemania be about Seth over reigns ,Bryan or lesnar and leave us shocked. CHECK. I firmly believe that we are going to look back at this wrestlemania as Rollin’s stepping stone to superstardom and I can’t wait for that.
