Hi there everyone, and welcome to the Wrestling Fan’s Predictions for this Sunday’s WWE Night of Champions Pay Per View! I have wrote a couple of these prediction articles before and have been somewhat fairly accurate on the outcome of the matches that take place, so join me as I run down the matches for this Sunday’s Night of Champions event!

I myself am looking very forward to this PPV event as there are a number of matches that have had significant build to them heading into this show. Ever since Battleground I have been impressed with the match-line-up’s that we’ve been given and SummerSlam certainly didn’t disappoint either! Now, with all the championships in the WWE on the line and some major singles match coming into this event, I think this year’s Night of Champions will be a great show and has the potential to be very good. Now, let’s take a look at the matches that will take place this Sunday!

PRE-SHOW- Peep Show Hosted by Christian with Guest Chris Jericho-

A don’t know why there is a need for a on-hour pre-show, especially if all they’re going to show is the Peep Show, nonetheless, it will be good to see Captain Charisma back on our TV screens as he host the Peep Show. Having Jericho as his guest makes me believe that something is going to happen with Orton and Jericho, maybe Orton attacking Jericho before their scheduled match, which might kick off the show seeming on RAW they said the Peep Show will take place minutes before Jericho’s scheduled match with Orton. Nonetheless, this should prove to be a somewhat entertaining segment between the two Canadians! I still would have liked to see Swagger vs. Bo Dallas on the pre-show however instead of seeing the match take place on RAW this past week.

Chris Jericho vs. Randy Orton-

If this match does kick off the show and maybe even with an attack on the Peep Show by Orton, I definitely see this being a match where Jericho acts as the underdog whilst he tries to fight away the dreaded Viper… Randy Orton. I believe some sort of angle has to take place with Jericho getting injured as he is expecting to leave again after tonight’s PPV, something which I’m not that happy about as I really enjoyed Jericho’s return this time around. Expect Orton to get the win here and possibly delivering a Punk Kick to the head of Jericho to put him out of the WWE.

My Prediction- Randy Orton wins.

United States Championship- Sheamus (c) vs. Cesaro-

What a physical match this is going to be Sunday. The Celtic Warrior will square off one on one against the Swiss Superman Cesaro. These two have great chemistry in the ring together and I am glad this rivalry is being revitalized after they only had a brief rivalry earlier in the Spring. Many people see Sheamus getting the win in this one but I see Cesaro getting the win, I just have that feeling that it’s his time to get the belt back and become a significant figure again in the WWE. Expect for a hard hitting match-up and given the proper amount of time, this can be a great, physical match-up.

My Prediction- Cesaro wins the championship.

WWE Tag Team Championship- The Usos (c) vs. Gold & Stardust-

I have to be honest, I for one didn’t like the Usos at the start of their title reign, and I didnt like Cody Rhodes turning into the Stardust character, but over the past few months, I have really started to like both the Usos and Stardust. Goldust and Stardust turned heel a few weeks ago after winning a tag title bout, but by count-out, and therefore not winning the titles and thus attacking their opponents after the match. I love seeing the darker side play out with Goldust and Stardust and the fans are digging it too, and therefore I think it is a very logical move to let the Rhodes Brothers come out with the victory Sunday. This rivalry to me still has a lot of potential, so I hope not to see the end of this feud here tonight.

My Prediction- Gold and Stardust become the tag team champions.

Intercontinental Championship- Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. The Miz-

This feud has been centered around The Miz’s moneymaker and their stunt double’s, which nonetheless has been entertaining, but I think the I.C. title is not the direct focus as it should be, unlike the U.S. Title match where the belt is the definite focus of the feud between Cesaro and Sheamus. However, these two men should put on a decent match on Sunday but it’s way too soon to get the belt off Ziggler, especially after all the support he is getting off the fans. My worry is that with the WWE thin of really good mid-card talent, who will step up and be Ziggler’s next challenger? Moreover, Ziggler will still remain the champion tonight in my opinion.

My Prediction- Ziggler retains the title.

Mark Henry vs. Rusev-

To be honest I much preferred the Swagger vs. Rusev feud as opposed to this one, even though both Henry and Swagger were fighting for the same thing. I for one have never been impressed with Rusev since he arrived in the WWE, and history tells us that the foreign stars never seem to get over with the crowd, i.e. people like Vladimir Kozlov. I find myself skipping most of Rusev’s segments because I don’t them entertaining at all, and I can’t believe he got the main event spot on RAW this past week, and well, if you don’t agree with me, just look at the ratings. I don’t expect great things from this match, but for some reason I just have a feeling that Henry may pull out the victory tonight and be the one to stand up for America, that not saying that Rusev won’t win a rematch, but I think in order to the feud to continue, Henry needs to get the win.

My Prediction- Mark Henry gets the win.

Divas Championship- Paige (c) vs. Nikki Bella vs. A.J. Lee-

Is it me or can anyone else not stand the Bellas?! Seriously, they don’t entertain me at all and their reactions from the fans aren’t that great either. Nikki is now involved in the title picture but I would have preferred to see the third real singles match between Paige and A.J. Paige and A.J. have worked hard during their feud and that’s going to be taken away from both ladies when Nikki Bella walks away with the title tonight, who will then go on to feud with her sister Brie for the belt.

My Prediction- Nikki Bella becomes the new champion.

Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins- Part II

So, we have Part 1 of this match on RAW where Reigns got the victory over his former Shield member Seth Rollins. I was surpised Reigns got the clean victory on RAW this past week with no interference from the Authority, but that just leads me to believe that bigger things will occur this Sunday at Night of Champions. God knows why these two didn’t main event RAW last week as opposed to Henry and Rusev, but hey, it didn’t. These men had a great match this past week and it proved that Reigns can keep up and work with the smaller guys in that ring. With the rematch taking place this Sunday, I expect a Reigns victory but maybe by a disqualification, where the Authority gets involved. This would then lead to the Dean Ambrose return, who will finally get his hands on Rollins. This would also probably boost the subscription numbers for the WWE Network also as people will want to see the crazed return of Dean Ambrose.

My Prediction- Roman Reigns gets the victory, probably by disqualification or some other shoddy finish

WWE World Heavyweight Championship- Brock Lesnar (c) vs. John Cena

Ever since the build to SummerSlam, I wasn’t really excited about this match, due to the fact that Lesnar and Cena weren’t at most of the RAW shows leading up to the event. The match at SummerSlam was good in the fact that it was a slaughter, but it wasn’t a great wrestling bout or brawl, and that’s something that both men can deliver and is what I expect to see at Night of Champions this Sunday. The match at SummerSlam allowed for a different side of John Cena to come out, where now he wants his redemption and wants to truly conquer the Beast once and for all! The promos between Cena and Heyman have been excellent in my opinion, and Heyman has done a great job in bringing out that other side to Cena. When Cena really gets going in a promo and there’s a good storyline there, then you really see the desire and passion that John Cena has, and that is something that he will definitely show this Sunday. The problem is here that I just don’t see who Lesnar could face after this event, due to the severe lack of challengers he has to face. That’s why I can see Cena getting the belt back here, with there being a third and final match inside Hell in a Cell next month, where Lesnar would obtain victory. However, due to the backstage news that it most likely will be Roman Reigns vs. Lesnar for the title at next year’s WrestleMania, I cannot see Lesnar losing until that event, therefore, I am going to go with Lesnar getting the win on Sunday, but I just hope he doesn’t get a challenger like Mark Henry or Big Show after N.O.C., as those are feuds that I really don’t want to see.

My Prediction- Brock Lesnar prevails once again and retains the title.

So, there you have it, my full predictions for this Sunday’s Night of Champions PPV. This PPV has the potential to be a very good PPV, with most of the matches having some sort of good built to them that will make them interesting to watch. I do think there may be some surprise winners like Cesaro and Henry winning their matches, and therefore I do not think that this will be a predictable event like we have seen in the past. Lesnar and Cena should be an improvement from SummerSlam, and I can’t wait to see that one unfold!

As always, leave your thoughts and comments in the section below and have fun watching Night of Champions this Sunday, because I know I will!
