WWE Smackdown (4/2) Results: Bryan vs. Sheamus

Welcome to Thursday night Smackdown, we get a live shot inside the arena and Seth Rollins makes his way down to the ring. He gets a minor pop as Big Show, Kane and J&J security joins him. They make their way down to the ring. Rollins cuts a promo about how he won the WWE World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania 31. The fans boo this. He said that he is the new face of the WWE. He said being a champ is not about all being great in the ring, but dealing with the media (The Today Show). He said that when he found out Brock Lesnar wanted his World Title rematch on RAW and when you fly from California to New York will make you jet-lagged. He said that Lesnar does deserve a rematch, but Monday night was not his night. He said if Lesnar did not F5 Michael Cole and a cameraman then maybe he would get a rematch tonight. Randy Orton makes his way down to the stage. He cuts a promo about how he almost ripped Seth’s head off at WrestleMania 31. He said that he has been owed a rematch for over a year now and he is at the top of the list to be given a title shot. Rollins said don’t worry about the past because the future is standing in the ring right now. He said that he is the one who calls the shots around here. Orton said that Rollins has never done anything on his own. Orton called J&J rats, he said that Kane and Big Show are lapdogs for the Authority. Orton said that Kane didn’t do anything at WrestleMania, but Big Show at least won a battle royal. Orton said that he went from the big red monster to the little red riding hood. Kane booked Orton vs. Big Show right now. 

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Randy Orton vs. The Big Show.

Big Show with a series of rights to start the match off. Orton fought back and nailed a top rope DDT to the Big Show. Orton went for an RKO, but J&J security attacked Orton from behind causing the DQ.

Winner: Orton by DQ. 

After the match, J&J security beat him down in the ring. Ryback ran down to the ring to make the save. Orton and Ryback cleared the ring of The Authority. Orton hit an RKO to Kane. Both Ryback and Orton stood tall in the ring as Rollins stood looking from the top of the stage.

Highlights of Sheamus attacking Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler from RAW is shown. Bryan vs. Sheamus is our main event. 

-Commercial Break-

The Bella Twins are on commentary for the following match. 

Singles Match: Naomi vs. Natalya. 

The two girls ran the ropes early and then both went for a drop kick. They lock up, Natalya backs Naomi into the corner. Natalya hit a powerslam followed by a drop kick for 2. Natalya mounted her and landed a series of right hands. Natalya went for the sharpshooter, but blocked and Naomi sent Natalya face first into the mat for the win. 

Winner: Naomi 

Naomi and Nikki Bella had a stare down after the match. 

-Commercial Break-

Kane and Seth Rollins are shown in the back talking. Rollins bragged about how Kane made Orton think he would be the number one contender for the title. Kane said that he is thinking about it and for business, the match between Orton and Rollins at the Extreme Rules PPV would be best for business. Dean Ambrose comes out of Kane’s executive bathroom. This makes Kane upset, so he books Ambrose in a match later in the show.  

-Commercial Break-

Bryon Saxton’s sitdown interview with Roman Reigns is shown. 


Singles Match: The Miz vs. R-Truth.

They lock, R-Truth with a flurry of strikes. Miz kicked R-Truth in the face and then hit the Skull Crushing Finale for the win. 

Winner: Miz. 

After the match, Mizdow ran down and attacked Miz. He hit the Skull Crushing Finale. Mizdow stood over Miz and celebrated to end the segment.

-Commercial Break-

John Cena makes his way down to the ring and starts stalking about how he will make sure that the U.S title means something again. He said that Rusev being the champion made him sick. He called Rusev a douchebag. He said that all Rusev did was complain about how much America sucks, but Cena has a new flash for him, America does not suck. Cena said that he will put the United States Title on the line every week through an open challenge. Rusev made his way out with Lana. Rusev said that he didn’t lose to Cena at WrestleMania and at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view, he will get his U.S Title back. Cena challenged Rusev to a match tonight, but Lana calmed Rusev down and said no. She said that Rusev would meet him at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view Rusev and Cena had a staredown that resulted in an American flag hanging above Cena to close the segment. 

-Commercial Break- 

Singles Match: Luke Harper vs. Dean Ambrose.

No lock up here, they start brawling to start the match off. Ambrose shot off the ropes, but Harper countered and sent him flying to the floor. 

-Commercial Break- 

We’re back with Harper throwing Ambrose into the corner, but Harper missed a big boot and fell to the floor. Ambrose fired up and hit a dive through the ropes. Back in the ring, Ambrose with an elbow drop for a near fall. Ambrose with a series of right hands, but Harper nailed a big boot out of nowhere. Harper went for a powerbomb, but Ambrose blocked and sent Harper to the floor. Ambrose went after him, but Harper reversed and threw him into the timekeepers area. Harper started getting the announce table ready,  but Ambrose jumped off the barricade and took him out. Ambrose went for a powerbomb, but Harper shoved him back first into the ring post. Harper hit a powerbomb to Ambrose through the announce table. 

-Commercial Break-

The Prime Time Players appear on the big screen. They start mocking The New Day and how they get no reaction from the fans. Millions of Dollars….

Sheamus makes his way down to the ring with his new (much better) entrance. He starts cutting a promo about the reason he attacked Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler is because he can. He said that he’s been watching the show since being gone, but where are the real men. He said that Bryan and Ziggler are too small runts. He said that the fans should be ashamed to have faith in them. He said that a real man has come back to the WWE. 

Bad News Barrett is on commentary for the following match. 

Singles Match: Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan

Sheamus throws Bryan into the corner as soon as the match starts, but Bryan fought out of it with a series of kicks. Sheamus rolled to the floor. Back in the ring, Bryan landed a series of kicks to the chest of Sheamus. Bryan went for a move, but Sheamus caught him with a back breaker. 

-Commercial Break- 

We’re back from break with Sheamus in control of Bryan. Sheamus beats down Bryan until Bryan makes his comeback when Bryan caught him with a flying clothesline. The fans started chanting YES. Bryan sends Sheamus to the floor and then followed it up with a dive through the ropes. Back in the ring, Bryan went for a kick, but it was caught and Sheamus went for White Noise. Bryan reversed and went for the YES lock, but Sheamus blocked. Sheamus threw Bryan into the corner, but Bryan reversed and kicked him in the face. Bryan went to the top rope, but Sheamus knocked him down. Bryan still sitting on the top rope, Sheamus landed a series of uppercuts. Sheamus dragged Bryan down and hit a neck breaker. Sheamus put Bryan on the apron and knocked him down. Bryan popped up and is bleeding from his forehead. Bad News Barrett hit Bryan with the Bull Hammer. Bryan got counted out and Sheamus is your winner. 

Winner: Sheamus 

Sheamus celebrates in the ring and walked up the stage to end the show.
