WWE Wrestlers Who Must Retire!

Times are a changing! The future has arrived!

And still, many wrestlers simply want to hang on to past glory in the wrestling world for longer than necessary.

There are plenty of wrestlers out there that should consider about their next career move and let the next breed of talent naturally flow through.

With the success of NXT, and the emergence the New Generation of younger wrestlers and main event stars like Dean Ambrose, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, and Bray Wyatt, the WWE is on the brink of a major youth movement. Times ahead are looking absolutely fantastic. However, there are still many stars on the roster aged forty and over, and professional wrestling is starting to move past them. The recent NXT PPV special’s success showed how good wrestling can be, and how Raw is nowhere near that and if WWE wants to get that back they need to follow the same guides as NXT.

( For those of you that came to see John Cena down below, sorry, forget it. He has at least 5 more years left in him )

My Future Retirees Wish List

Big Show

Big Show has had a career based solely off of him being a giant of a man, and has been a huge star because of it. Show goes back and forth from heel to face about as much as anyone in the company ever, it’s all very frustrating for the fans. Before beginning his successful WWE career, Show had been a WCW personality known as The Giant. During his run with the company, he’d become a two-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion. However, it would take Show quite a while to see the same kind of gold in WWE.

Nowadays The Big Show is nothing more than a shadow of his former self. It’s time for Big Show to leave the active roster before more damage is done to his reputation, he’s still in decent shape all things considered and he’s probably got a number of years left in him. But the WWE’s booking has reduced The Big Show’s legacy to a joke in the eyes of many fans, and i don’t see no coming back.

My only hope is that Big Show will persue his acting career more and leave wrestling. He needs to stop stealing the spotlight and take himself out of the main event. Use his gained knowledge to pass the torch to the next generation, such as the NXT rookies.

The Undertaker

In the ring, he’s done everything there is for him to do and the memories will last a lifetime, his health will not.

He did look much better and in shape this past year, but now he is 50 years of age and has been competing in the WWE since debuting 1990, making him WWE’s longest performers. .At WrestleMania 30, Brock Lesnar did the impossible and conquered The Undertaker’s undefeated streak. During the match, Taker looked his age, worn out and suffered a severe concussion injury. This forced Vince McMahon to miss the end of WrestleMania as he went to the hospital with Taker in the ambulance.

It will be hard to even imagine a world where The Undertaker doesn’t wrestle at least once a year, but he has been used so little over the past few years that if you only watch WWE a few times a year, you would not know Taker was still with the company.

There is no doubt a big void will be left but Taker has done it all, he has nothing else to give . If he retired at WrestleMania 32, that would be a great send-off for the Deadmans legacy and let his career finally rest in piece.

Chris Jericho

Y2J is a legnd to many fans no doubt, but at this point more of his era ” The Attitude Era guy’s” have retired and moved onto new careers. He wrestles mostly for WWE House Shows, i’m fine with that as long as he stops the returns to TV.

At 40+, his best days are behind him and it’s time to take a bow before fans start to get sick of his act.

Mark Henry

During his early days, Vince was so high on Henry that he wanted to push Henry just like Rock. That didn’t happen and Henry’s career has been a roller coaster ride ever since. He joined WWE at the age of 24 and while he’s never been the dominant wrestler many hoped he would have been, he’s relitively seen as a great mid-level guy who has been able to reach main event level on few occassions. Mark played “Sexual Chocolate” during the dawn of the Attitude Era, Henry was a lady’s man who had a sex addiction and impregnated elderly Diva Mae Young (who later gave birth to a hand).

His character has changed quite a few times over the years, but now the time has come for Henry to leave. He teased retirement two years ago, but used it to turn heel and get into a program with John Cena and stayed in the WWE.

Marks injuries have slowly been piling up, and it seems he’s only ever around for a few months before having to take time away to heal up. It’s at this point that an athlete needs to listen to his body and slow down before any real damage occurs.

Goldust

He came out to the ring in a ball gag wearing bondage gear, was overtly sexual, and often displayed homoerotic tendencies. It took years for these fun facets of his character to die down, Vince loved it. That was then, now he should be helping to elevate the new breed down at NXT.

At his age, he isn’t around to win any championships but only to teach the future what he was taught from his dad. Goldust had a great late run and was able to live out a dream, by winning the Tag Team titles with his brother Cody, until his brother turned on him, leading to a couple of matches that Goldust actually won.

Now the time has come for him to step away from the spotlight.

Kane

Over 20+ years, Kane has had a memorable career that is definitely legendary He was The Big Red Monster, The Devil’s Favorite Demon, and The Big Red Machine, now he’s a glorified jobber. He was one of the hardest working wrestlers on the roster, and seems to never mind jobbing if it means elevating new talent, it’s just Kane’s character is not meant for jobbing imo, and now, his character, has been severely damaged to the point where he just isn’t a credible threat anymore.

He is has gradually become a liability to the company, yes, he’s been a great solider for WWE ever since he became the Kane character, and he’ll definitely find his way into the WWE Hall of Fame, but truth be told, it’s time to hang up the mask for good.

Daniel Bryan

This one is a hard for Daniel and his fans to accept including me. Daniel Bryan is one of the top stars in the company, but, with his health issues over the last few years, it appears he’s simply going to have to walk away before his body gives up entirely. Bryan really needs to sit down with his wife and think about his life and future after WWE. It’s not worth it to risk it.

His neck issues a couple of year ago forced him to undergo surgery and also forced him to give up the WWE Championship,. He returned to win the Intercontinental belt at WrestleMania 31, but again due to injury had to give that belt up.

He has vowed to return to action, but it looks like he will never be close to the same and it seems like he’d be risking his long term health by ignoring the doctors advice and retiring. Personally I would love to see Bryan go on to wrestle another decade, but then again it would only be selfish of me to think like that. The doctors didn’t know what Bryan’s problem was after the surgery and he is taking a huge risk by stepping back into the ring again to wrestle. Bryan should be a head trainer at NXT, or making babies with his gorgeous wife.

AND FINALLY

Vince McMahon

Vincent must be commended for his efforts as a wrestling promoter, and applauded for the heights he reached. Vince grew up watching his father buy up wrestling territories to try to create a global empire. Vince would achieve his father’s dreams with WWE by taking them global and expanding the brand to a wider audience, he even stepped into the ring himself a good number of times over the years.

Thanks to Vince’s determination and genius like business mind, WWE built huge stars out of Bret Hart Bruno Sammartino, Steve Austin Roddy Rowdy Piper, Macho Man Randy Savage, Jake The Snake Roberts, The Rock Hulk Hogan, and countless others. I thank him for all the great memories he gave us, but this is 2015 and at this point, Vince seems to have lost touch with his audience, his appearance on the Stone Cold podcast proved how out of touch he is with his viewers. He defended Raw’s meandering thirty-minute opening promos, and blamed “millenials” and their lack of ambition for what he saw as a thin roster.

I was absolutely astounded with what i was hearing, as was Austin. Although Vince is not an active wrestler, the man needs to hit the retirement home before he damages the product any further. The guy’s i listed are mostly still active due to Vince. Someone needs to have a quiet word (*cough* Stephanie *cough cough*) And to politely tell him to get the F out.

The WWE Universe as a whole would be happier if Vince relinquished control over his brand. He already has son-in-law Triple H who’s more than ready to take over the helm. Trips has proven that he can lead NXT and give fans what they really want.

Thanks For Reading.

If you have the time please leave the names of the wrestlers who you want to see retire.
