Facebook Poll: Who do you miss the most in WWE?

This article will focus on the answers given to the question: Which WWE Wrestler do you miss the most?

As I wanted fair results (based on WWE of today), I put forward a list of wrestlers for our Facebook followers to choose from. They were only allowed to choose one wrestler from the list below:

  • Bad News Barrett – Inactive; separated shoulder.
  • Brock Lesnar – Makes limited appearances.
  • Christian – Inactive; various injuries.
  • CM Punk – Departed after the Royal Rumble.
  • Daniel Bryan – Inactive; multiple surgeries.
  • David Otunga – Inactive; has not appeared in over 30 days.
  • Rey Mysterio – Inactive; hand injury.
  • Roman Reigns – Inactive; hernia surgery.
  • Ryback – Inactive; hernia surgery.
  • The Undertaker – Makes limited appearances.

After making a few posts, I counted all the votes up. I can confirm 64 votes in this poll. Some posts were disregarded as they didn’t give a serious vote, or they mentioned more than one wrestler. As you can imagine, four wrestlers got the vast majority of votes, while the other six picked up on the scraps.

#10. David Otunga – 0 votes – Poor guy, no one misses him at all.

~#8. Christian / Roman Reigns – 1 vote (1.56%) – How can Christian only get one vote? Disappointing result from my point of view, but I guess I am a little biased. Roman Reigns with only one vote also? Maybe he hasn’t been away long enough?

~#6. Brock Lesnar / Rey Mysterio – 2 votes (3.13%) – Lesnar with only two votes? I guess the fans don’t want to see the WWE World Heavyweight Championship anytime soon. Rey Mysterio has clearly gone out of fans minds, and his contract will come to an end soon … hopefully.

#5. Ryback – 3 votes (4.69%) – Does anyone really miss Ryback more than Lesnar, Mysterio, Reigns or Christian? Yeah … surprising result, it happens. #Donotkillfacebookfortheresults #Nomorestupidhashtags.

So we are down to the famous four, but in which order will they come in? All I can say is, the next three wrestlers were pretty damn(!) close.

~#3. Daniel Bryan / Bad News Barrett – 12 votes (18.75%)

Before their injuries, these two were the most over (and entertaining) wrestlers on the roster, and I don’t really care if anyone disagrees with me on that. Daniel Bryan was the #1 most over guy on the roster, and many fans praised the entertaining “bad news” gimmick of Bad News Barrett.

As an Englishmen, I am torn between these two. Barrett is my #1 English wrestler (sorry Regal, you fell off the top a while ago), while Daniel Bryan is my #1 American wrestler. There is no doubt that both of these men have bright futures, and they are sorely missed. The roster isn’t the same without them, they bring the excitement to crowds like most active WWE wrestlers cannot. All we can do is hope for a speedy recovery from the pair of them. Expect loud pops upon their return.

#2. The Undertaker – 13 votes (20.31%)

No matter how old The Undertaker gets, the fans will continue to show their respect, and miss him with a passion. There has never been a wrestler like The Undertaker. As a fan since the first day I got into wrestling, all I really want from him is an appearance. It is tough for the fans to see him lose at Wrestlemania, only to hear nothing from him over half a year later. Yes, he has shown up in pictures on the internet, but it’s not quite the same.

I don’t blame our Facebook followers for missing this guy, he is a true legend. How great would it be if The Undertaker could return full-time to wrestle on the current roster? It would be absolutely amazing! However, I think most fans have resigned themselves to the fact that he isn’t young anymore, he is an old man, and he deserves to retire while he can still live a normal life with no severe injuries. I see the fans pinning their hopes on what would probably be a retirement match between The Undertaker and Sting at Wrestlemania. It would be a dream match. It wouldn’t be anywhere near as good as it would have been back in the day, but it would be a suitable match for both men to retire their careers with. I aint going to hope for too much though, you never know what will happen.

#1. CM Punk – 18 votes (28.13%)

There was only one reason I included CM Punk in the list; I wanted to see if he would be #1. He is the only wrestler on the list who is not under contract to WWE, and is clearly the most missed. I feel for you all, I really do. I don’t feel for the haters though, those people who assume that he “walked out on the fans” and all that rubbish. Seriously? Was you there? Do you really know what happened between CM Punk and WWE? No, I didn’t think so. I have a face just like CM Punk above when I read comments like that. Who needs fans like that huh? Those fans who cry the minute he leaves, but you know for a fact, if he returned at Hell in a Cell, those same fans would be “marking out”. There are so many hypocrites in the world, and CM Punk has never been one of them. He has always stuck to what he believes in, and what he has said.

All you have to do is listen to the “CM Punk” chants to recognize how much the fans miss him. His abrupt departure often has me pondering over WWE and how they look after their talents. CM Punk was visibly worn out during the Royal Rumble match, and they had him wrestle for over 40 minutes from the beginning. Is CM Punk a machine? No. CM Punk is a human being like the rest of us, and he had the right to walk out of his job under the circumstances. All he wanted was some time off to recover from injuries, but Vince wasn’t willing to let that happen, so CM Punk took it upon himself to find that time.

I already wrote an article on CM Punk lately, which you can find on my profile page if you are really interested. All this result tells me, is that CM Punk has made his mark in wrestling history, and WWE made a really bad mistake by letting him walk away. The ball was in McMahon’s court, and all he wanted was to sponge all the life out of CM Punk as he could, and why? Well isn’t it obvious? It’s all about the money. Punk doesn’t need the money, he has plenty of it, and that is the difference between him and other wrestlers.

I miss his honest nature, and his ring work. I also miss his heel antics because he could draw serious heat. I know you all miss him too, even the haters. On this occasion, he was voted the most missed WWE wrestler, and we havn’t seen him since January. This year would have been so different if it didn’t play out like it did. If it didn’t happen, WWE would still be taking talent for granted when they request time off. That’s all that can be said really.

CM Punk didn’t turn his back on the fans, and it appears the fans havn’t turned their backs on CM Punk. I want to thank everybody who voted, and I want to thank everyone for tuning in and reading. You guys/girls consistently view and share my articles, and that always brings a smile to my face.

As Mick Foley would say .. Have a nice day!
