Hogan-Andre was a bit early for me, but I think this was around the time I started (for the first time)

The second time? Probably this...

Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio for the IC title in 2009 was the match that got me watching, I started watching in 2009 and afterwards starting watching stuff that happened before 2009 to see what I missed.

I was originally a wwf fan, but acknowledged WCW. The first time I had my interest sparked and began marking out was this match. That's when I knew how to choose favorites.

Strangely enough it was Mr. T that got me in to Wrestling! I was a huge fan of the A-Team as a kid and when I found out he was going to be at Wrestlemania I, I started watching to see what it was all about!! Having relatives in the States was a bonus, getting wrestling related stuff sent over!!

I was a wrestling fan almost from birth because of my dad, but I stopped watching for a while after I turned 18. The main reason I quit watching wrestling back then was because of the finger poke of death. Watching my all time favorite wrestler lay down and hand over the title to Hogan ruined wrestling for me back then. But around 2005 I found TNA and it brought back the love of wrestling for me.

The first match I ever watched was Buff Bagwell vs La Parka on Nitro in early 1999 and I was hooked. I watched WCW for mostly all of 1999 but I can't remember much of it seeing as I was only 5 at the time. Then I found out about WWF in late 1999. The main event of the Smackdown that I watched was The Rock vs someone (I think it was Viscera) in a Lumberjack match with Mankind running down at the end with a trolley full of weapons. After that I watched both Smackdown and Nitro but started losing interest in Nitro and just watched Smackdown instead. I would say the Cactus Jack v Triple H rivalry is what really got me into wrestling.

As a kid, my Dad always watched wrestling and I sometimes tune into whats going (I was able to identify the likes of Hulk Hogan and the Rock) on but only really consecutively watched it after buying WM X8 for the gamecube (in hindsight, yeah the game sucked but for whatever reason, it got me watching the show). I don't know what inspired me to buy the game in the first place though. The first RAW I've ever seen shorty afterwards was slightly before Summerslam of 2002 where Triple H was looking for who jumped Shawn Michaels in the parking lot the previous week only to be revealed that Triple H was in fact the assailant.

My friends got me into wrestling in fourth grade, in 2007. They always talked about it, and had the trading cards, and everything. The first show I saw was the Smackdown when it was Taker vs Batista in the steel cage, and it was a draw, then Mark Henry came back, then Edge cashed in Money in the Bank. From there, I was hooked.

Undertaker vs Stone Cold 1998
I remember how exciting it was, everyone at school was talking about it, everyone had an attitude shirt or an austin/rock shirt, everywhere outside you go people had WWF merchandise on.

My Friends, the day was March 29, 1987. I was sitting in my father's lap as i was a pint sized version of myself watching Wrestemania III, and I sat there watching intently through most of the event until the Intercontinental Championship match between "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat. Part of the way through the match I got up off of my dad's lap and began practicing wrestling moves on my Tom stuffed animal,(from tom and jerry) which was about the same size as me, and as I was hitting elbow drops from off the lay z boy recliner, I was still watching, copying almost every move I saw (to the best of my ability of course) and from that day I was hooked. By the time Hulk vs. Andre came about I was a wee bit too tired to continue tossing my stuffed animal around the room, but when Hulk slammed Andre I know my face lit up in astonishment. Its actually the earliest memory I have of my life and is the reason why no matter how stupid wrestling may get sometimes, I am still a lifelong fan and proud of it.

My Grandpa told me about how crazy Piper was, along w/ Andre being an unstoppable force back in the day. I also came across Monday Nitro as a kid & saw the NWO beat the shit out of Rey Mysterio & I thought it was legit, then later on my Brother's friends showed me ECW and I've been hooked since. Disappointed a lot since the glory days, but still a big fan.

It's amazing how many different time frames that people get into wrestling. Whether its the 70's, 80's, 90's, or even the 2k's it really shows that new wrestling fans don't die, we multiply. I'm even willing to bet that the reason why ratings aren't what they used to be is because a lot of the people that grew up watching from the earlier days through the 90's and 2k's may work a night shift job to support their families and may not have dvr so they have to catch episodes on the internet early in the morning before going to bed. Like me.
