The filetype of youtube videos are .FLV, right?
- Use mediacoder (http://www.mediacoderhq.com/download.htm)to convert the .FLV file to a .AVI file
- Windows Movie Maker *should* be able to edit the .AVI file (If WMM still won't edit it, AVIdemux (http://avidemux.sourceforge.net/) or VirtualDub (http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/) definitely will)
There are probably some video editors out there that work with .FLV files, but I don't deal with youtube videos and therefore don't know of any free ones with good functionality. Try googling "free flv editor" if you feel like it.
