View Full Version : John Cenas retirement

It's been rumored in the past couple of months that Cena has been working through some injuries, that will catch up with him in the next couple of years, causing him to retire sooner rather than have him wrestling into his forties.
If he retires, how would you like to see him go out?

I will probably get a bit of heat for this, but at a Wrestlemania vs. Orton

I like that idea, I mean Orton has been his biggest feud, the self described "Anti-Cena" and they are friends backstage.
Either that or have him lose cleanly at WM to whoever takes his spot

That is what I was thinking. Although in the next few years his biggest feud could change to someobdy else, but it seems unlikely

I completely agree with you but it should be a face vs face match....
Hopefully he just takes a break to sort out his injuries then make a comeback...

No matter how much time passes, people will always act like their last singles match back in 2009 was yesterday. I wish there will be a time passing where their next rematch will be considered significant by us Internet Wrestling Cynics, but that is not happening.

Well, they did have a tables match last year, but it was just a one off match really
For me, it's been a while, and Cena isn't going to be retiring too soon, so for me the gap is enough. Cena and Orton was way overdone, but by then, it will probably be regarded as a classic rivalry ;)

Have him took out of wrestling.... Like having the Miz and others beat him down....
I would think and speculate they would hold onto Cena for as long as possible.... Most likely after the Rock and Cena match at Mania they will have Cena take a few months off... Let him do movies, TV, publicity for the WWE maybe return during the summer.... but if he retires soon it will be Wrestlemania 30 or after wards say between WM30 and WM 35!!!!

Cena vs Hogan? jk, I like the Orton idea since they have had on and off again feuds for years.

I like the losing clean to the next face of the WWE but the question is who? who can be the next face of the WWE? Obviously this can be found in the future but at the moment the only one I can see doing it is Ziggler or Rhodes.
or Cena vs. Taker if Taker is still around

I think barring career ending injury or backstage blowout. Cena will be around for another 10 to 15 years or so. Maybe he takes a year hiatus, at some point in his career. I am in no way shape or form a fan, of cena's but I think if he took a year or two off. They would be begging him to come back. It would be a really big deal when he does

On a strecher, would do nicely for for me, if your wanting him to go out to an old rival how about edge...... oh wait never mind, orton it is then.
What about Wrestlemania main event against Ry-back/skip sheffield, who is tipped to be Cena 2.

If he were to retire in the next 5 to 7 years I would want his last match to be at Wrestlemania against the Miz. Miz beats him cleanly and Cena finally gets his respect and this turns Miz face.

Inferno match against Taker at WM 30. Taker last rides Cena into the fire. We see him burn a bit. Paramedics take him out on a stretcher. Next day, Paul Bearer brings an urn and claims it has Cena's ashes. Cena is never seen again on TV.
JK, fellas.
He has to lose clean against the next big man. Ziggler? Rhodes?

I would also like his final match to be at WM vs Orton, it just seems right.

Agreed. I don't see Cena (can't see him AAAA OOHHHH) doing anything wrestling-wise out of the WWE. He may do movies and stuff like that but he will be hanging around the E in one way or another.
On topic I don't want to see him go out in a beat down scenario. I would rather see him in a give it all he gots but it's not enough to beat the new face of the company scenario, maybe against Sheamus or Rhodes.

As much as I like the idea of Orton I would like to see him against batista (if he comes back)

I would actually want him to have a good final match, and not bury someone. Either against someone hes had a long history with like Orton, or pass the torch to someone young, maybe The Miz? It wouldn't even matter if Cenas a face at that point, because by then, he'll likely be more liked by the fans, and they will want both men to win.
He should retire next week I'm tired of him being an ASS KISSER
Just like Hogan, The Rock..

I doubt TNA would go out of business anytime soon, they are making tons of money, mostly international deals from what I have read...

Don't ever say never.... Remember a bleach blonde who's name starts with H back in 2004 he said he would never come to TNA.... but what happened in 2010 how things can change!!!

Wrestlemania 29, they recreate Wrestlemania I, Rowdy Piper and Mr T with Cena vs Mike Tyson.... Tyson gets knocked out after Cydni Lauper comes out and flahses Tyson....
Wrestlemania 30 they go to recreate the Hogan/King Kong Bundy Wrestlemania II match with Cena vs Brodis Clay, Clay falls on top of Cena, Cena lifts him up with his Superman strength..
Wrestlemania 31 they recreate WMIII Andre vs Hulk, with Cena vs Big Show, Cena after dealing with nagging back problems goes to slam Show throws his back and can't move...
I honestly think he should retire by being put out by the top heel, maybe Ziggler or Rhodes depending on the time, someone that will get elevated by beating him, kind of how people think a young guy should beat Undertaker at Wrestlemania. I could also see like a passing the torch kind of thing where he goes out to a face, but has anyone considered him actually winning in his final match? the Orton idea is fine, but I think it could be better than that.
