View Full Version : What's Up With Evan Bourne?

Is it just me or does he get the snot beat out of him every week? Seriously, I see him come out on Raw and say to myself..."Uh oh, here comes the weekly Evan Bourne beating" and I'm never let down! What's up with that? This guy can't seem to catch a break, win or lose.
IMO he's definately being under/misused.

We clearly see that.....
I think they are ragdolling him and sending a message to the people saying "We don't people of his size, no matter what they have accomplished."
Though its just a thought.

WWE has longed been accused of this, but what about Rey Mysterio? They evidently have no problem pushing him.

I think its because he relates to kids more than Bourne.

Thats how WWE is now.
If they relate to kids, money isn't far. Thus they(wrestler) will get pushed.

Yeah I know. When the primary goal is money then someone is bound to get rear ended I guess...this time around its the fans of yesteryear.
I just think its crazy how much the WWE was pushing Bourne when he first arrived on television and now he's been reduced to a mere whipping boy. The weirdest part about it to me is...its not even like he's jobbing. That would make sense. Bourne has become the "Kenny" of Monday Night Raw...you KNOW he's going to get it. How it happens doesn't even have to make sense anymore.

Normally he doesn't get beat up that much, but the reason he did last week was to play off an injury. He just had surgery and will be out for a short period of time.

That is just the bonus. Kids want role model wrestlers and buying their items is just a bonus.

well in wwe is not all about if u can wrestle its wether u can sell merchandise or good mic skills...i dont thikn evan bourn has that....but he is a good worker and makes others look good..therefore he has a job :)...only reason why rey got a push was cuz his mask sale like crazy and kids see him as a super hero i guess...so yeah

Erra, what show you watching? It's pretty frequent!
As far as what everyone else is saying...yeah, I guess. I just find the beatings a bit pointless and weird. My question wasn't so much as "why isn't he being pushed" as it was "what's up with the way he's being used".

Please allow me to give my infinite wisdom on this matter. Evan Bourne is the definition of a ham & egger. Please Google it if you don't understand. The top guys need someone like Bourne on their rise to the top, that's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. Google that one too kiddies. U MAD???

Bourne will get his push. They started making him and Mark Henry a solid tag team. Plus, he sells taking a beating better than anyone.

They have had a problem pushing him. They just know what a valuable talent he is. His last World Championship reign was supposed to have been given to Undertaker, but 'Taker was injured by Rey in the Fatal4Way qualifier. Rey was supposed to take some time off and was upset with the company, but they needed him to stick around since 'Taker was out of the picture. The World Title reign (if you can call it that) was a way of appeasing Rey and getting him to stick around until 'Taker was healthy.
As for Bourne, I agree, he is usually underutilized. The good news? Paul Levesque is in charge now! Since Hunter was the one who requested to bring Bourne over from ECW because he claimed that "athletes like him are the future of the company" I think there is a good chance that Bourne will get another good push once he is healthy again.

If HHH is the guy bringing in Sheamus and Bourne, then I guess we have to wait and see Bourne shine.

I can't believe no one has mentioned that Evan would be better off as a heel! Give him a valet/bodyguard and watch the heat rise!
Don't think it would work? Check out the underrated (but not for everyone) wrestling society X for a look at Evan as a heel. What a cocky little shit he can be!

Was that supposed to be a compliment? I don't see any way it couldn't have been. Kidman was a great talent. A lot of guys were high on Kidman, including DDP and Bischoff, though Bischoff's opinion clearly carries significantly less weight in matters of actual talent. I can definitely see the comparison though, and not just in the fact that they both have an equally beautiful Shooting Star for a finish. I think Bourne is much more of an agressor though.
As for Bourne as a heel, I've never watched Wrestling Society X, so I don't know how he did as a heel. Though, I am quite intrigued by the idea and will look up some footage.
Lastly, yes, I believe Bourne will get his time to shine again with Hunter in charge. I don't see the push being as big as what Sheamus has gotten. Not that the don't both deserve. I'll admit that I'm a complete mark for Sheamus, but I don't see Bourne getting the same treatment.

The thing with him is the only way he really connects himself with the fans is by flashing out his peace signs. He does no backstage interviews or skits or in-ring promos that let fans see more of him than just his ring actions. All that happens is he is sent out to the ring and he wows with his moves. He's gotta do more.

What I meant by this is that both men r high flyers that dont really have all that much of a clear cut and dry gimmick. It wasnt niether a compliment or an insult. Just an opinion.

Bourne had Cena vouching for him and was even "Cena's little buddy" on screen. And that only lasted a week

If you want a truly massive heel Bourne give him Michele McCool as a manager.

Which is why they had Vickie help Laycool so much, to make Vickie look hotter than she is. (get it, heat?)
