With the loss of Joe Paterno this morning, being one of the coaches with the most wins in college football and what he did at Penn State..... Probably one of the greatest coaches ever???
It a sad day in State College PA.... I say...

Thats beside the point and we may never know the whole story about that, and what went on in the past....

The thing is Joe is and was a legend of his time like him or not....
He built a college football program that had one of the most historic numbers from wins, to championships and etc...

^^^^^^^

I don't care what anyone says about the sex scandal, the man is a legend, and it's a real shame that he left us, and it's even more of a shame that he couldn't live long enough to enjoy retirement. JoePa will be missed

R.I.P. Joe Paterno

So was Chris Benoit but the fact is because of what happened no one will ever be able to remember him without thinking about the crime. Whatever his involvement, he was involved in letting kids be molested and that will always overshadow how well he played a game

The big thing is when Joe was told or found out of such happening in his program, it was basically hear-say.... Was he wrong for letting such happen YES..... Could he have done anything on the issues YES....
But unlike Beniot, he was less involved then we might and may ever know....

How much could he done if nobody else who knew what was happening if they wasn't going go out and tell someone of higher authority???
Sure he could had went to the police his-self, but that wasn't the case.....
Still don't make it right you calling someone names now that they are dead.... That a low in itself!!!!

no when peope die there dead and don't have to deal with being killed. a child being raped has to live with being raped there whole life.

What sad is you have no respect for the dead......
I bet if the tables was turned, and someone close to you did some act or knew of some act similar you would trash them after their death....

I'm just saying the sometimes Accomplishments outweighs the negatives and such in one life....

my brother is in jail for kiddy porn. i wish him death. again your defending a guy who let kids get rape. i don't care what he did good in his life. kids were raped and he could have stopped it. winning games was more importent then stopping a man raping kids.

him being dead doesn't mean he gets respect. lets respect all the killers in the world who are dead them.

Well, your brother is a lowlife for that, but still it wouldn't make the pain or thoughts go away for the innocent child....

I just saying he will be recognized no matter what happened..... Better yet nothing you or I know what he knew could probably change the facts what happened.... He told certain people and it was ignored.... Facts is facts more could have been done, and more people then Coach Paterno knew what happened and when it happened and nothing was done.....
Still blaming him don't and name calling don't make it better or close's the problems afterwards...

Well you did or you mis-interput my question from a earlier statement....
Again sure he knew, but it don't change who else knew and what wasn't done.... Scandals like this is nothing new, and likely more of similar will happen in the future.... and hopefully others will learned from what happened here....

You've said some pretty stupid things in your time here, but this takes all of the cakes. In no way does winning a bunch of friggin' GAMES outweigh fostering an environment where countless young boys were exploited and victimized. Shame on you for suggesting otherwise.

Not only was "JoePa" the most powerful person on that campus, he was also one of the most powerful people in the entire state of Pennsylvania. If anyone had the clout to do something about that situation, it was him. And what did he do? The bare fucking minimum. All because he thought a bunch of guys running a ball up and down a field took precedence over the innocence of young children. That's completely deplorable, and absolutely inexcusable.
