William Regal has signed a 42 month contract extension with WWE. This is great news. Although it doesn't mean he won't be released early or simply wasted by WWE writers, I can't help but thin they might have something planned for Mr. Darren Matthews (aka Regal ;)).

This has made my day! :D

Or he will just go behind the scenes and become and trainer or a agent.

I hope not, not yet at least. I think he's still got plenty to offer on screen. Where is Regal lately anyway?

(I can't believe a thread on the failure of Knucklehead has more responses than this!) ;)

Maybe Regal isn't as big as Knucklehead xD

I kid but I want to see Regal in a championship spot.

Please allow me to give my infinite wisdom on this matter. I am a HUGE fan of the man they call William Regal. I hope WWE creative uses him to his full potential. I screamed BLOODY HELL when he pissed dirty last time into one of the biggest pushes of his career. Hopefully it was a lessened learned. I know I showed this clip before but here it is again for the people that missed it. It is a classic moment of Wiliam Regal and I don't think he besmirched his name, in fact, I think he won over a lot of people with his rapping ability. U MAD???

lol knucklehead was an epic fail...less than 75? 7 people went to see this movie? anyway regal had his chance unfortunately. i hate the fact that he f'd up his push cuz i liked regal since dubbya c dubbya. but in retrospect you never know what wwe plans.

He has been a great manager in the past as his mic skills are top notch.

But to reply to this thread, I don't see them doing anything constructive with him in the near future unless they draft him to SD!. Otherwise its Superstars, and stupid skits on RAW for him...

It means he will become Goldust. Help out in the back, train and all of that good stuff.

My guess is Regal will train upcoming stars, shame really.

Regal would be excellent in an "Exectutive Consultant" role to an up and comer, much the way Perfect was for Flair during his initial WWF run.

I don't see Regal getting much of a look in any more to be honest. I think his last Intercontinental run was probably his last run (unless he gets a break in the tag team division). Although, I think he would make a great US champ. He would play a heel British as a US champ, and I think that could be interesting.
Regal is a great technical wrestler with great mic skills, but with WWE pushing younger talent, I doubt he'll get anything of great importance storyline-wise anymore. I expect he'll move to a backstage role eventually though (a trainer perhaps, like Finlay), or even as a general manager, as he has the mic skills to do that.

REAL, infinite wisdon.

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is The Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."

Could be interesting to see him as a commentator too.
