View Full Version : WM 30 in London?

So from the front page. Rumour is London will host WM30! I want your opinions on this.

I personally don't think even D-Bryan can yes long enough for how awesome this is. They're probably aiming to beating the all-time WWE record of attendance which I think was Summerslam 92 (In England as well :P) which I think they'll manage.

I'll definitely be going if this comes to reality.

If this happens I would kill someone for tickets, been considering going to a WWE event for a while but if Wrestlemania comes to England I'll be there! (Hopefully :p)

I really doubt it, not the big one. Possibly a PPV but I can't see them taking WM offshore

Expect a swerve.

I think it'll be Montreal.

However much I want to think it's true, the reason I don't is the time difference.

It's 9:58 here in England for all you yanks, and when Raw's here, they normally start taping it at 7:30ish. To have a live PPV, is going to be very difficult to do

Like Rob, I don't see WWe taking Wrestlemania outside of the North America, and I think that's the way it should be.

I can definitely see a ppv being held in the UK and other places, but for me, the big one should always stay in America.

Wrestlemania in London would be good, but remember they have to keep the New York tradition.

Whilst I agree with ya. We can dream! lol

Vancouver recently held the 2010 winter Olympics so another option is them.

Lets look at the options realistically:

Doubtful:
-London: simply because of the time difference
-Calgary: not easily accessible to Yanks by car, and not a really a tourist destination
-Rio: WWE is just now starting to do shows in Brazil, not enough of a local fanbase there
-Atlanta: just had 27 there
-Mexico City: not somewhere many people want to travel, too many security risks, and the risk of alienating the "Nascar fan" base

Probable:
-LA: plenty of outdoor stadiums, perfect weather, iconic city
-St. Louis: the Ram's indoor stadium, a traditional wrestling hotbed, easy travel for American fans
-Montreal: indoor stadium, near the US border
-Vancouver: state of the art stadium, close to US border, a booming tourist industry

My pick: either Vancouver or LA

If its an Olympic City in US / Canada it could be

St. Louis (possible, but since they only had the Olympics in 1904, it would be kinda weird to mention it)
Los Angeles (possible, but since they host Summerslam every year, not likely)
Montreal (possible)
Atlanta (recently had a WM, so probably not)
Salt Lake City (possible I guess .. but not likely)
Vancouver (possible)

So I guess WM could go to Canada?

Well, I'm saving up regardless. If it's not in the UK, I'll have a good bank balance - enough to pay for me to go anywhere in the world and see Wrestlemania.

I think it will stay in North America with a huge possibility of being in Canada. It would be the best time for Christian to retire maybe even Jericho and I bet Edge said if they brought it to Canada that he would resign the legends contract. I remember him saying last time he was there that he would be retiring if WM was brought to Canada.

Honestly, I hope WWE keeps the tradition alive by holding WM 30 at MSG in New York. I know WM 29 will be in NJ, but it only seems right to have it at MSG for the 4th time. Same goes for WM 40,50,60,70,80,90,100, and so.

It's not a big enough venue tho. They have proven the last few times that can sell 70k+ tickets.

I don't see why they couldn't have Wrestlemania in London. I know everyone is talking about the time difference, but you have to remember that if they started the show at 7pm London time, that it'll be 11am on the west coast of the US. I think people would watch a Wrestlemania that started in the afternoon, hell, people in the US watch afternoon sporting events all the time. I think it would be a great thing for the WWE to say that they really are global and can host a wrestlemania anywhere in the world.

I think London would be a great idea, especially at the new Wembley. 90,000 capacity minus the side for the titantron etc but also the ringside seats, could get upwards off 100k people in there possibly... Also, weather wouldn't be an issue, normally crap in the UK in late March and April but it has a closeable roof so wouldn't matter! Great idea, apart from obviously the time issue, but i dont think that will matter that much.

Also the FA (Football Association or Soccer Association) for those who aren't from the UK would bite the hand off an offer from the WWE because they need to pay off the vast amount of money they spent building it!! Something like £1.3billion or something like that it cost. On top of all this, it is an incredible venue with a great atmosphere when the roof is closed.

Time difference isnt a issue at all in my opinion, if you started the show at 8 pm London time, it would be 1 pm Pacific coast time. As much as they promote Mania, they would beat into us, the special time for the Mania PPV. Plus, for the 30th, if not going to be in MSG, might as well do something that hasn't been done before, having the biggest event of the year, oversees. The only problem I can see is the next night on RAW. It would be a horrible, if the biggest RAW of the year, would be on tape delay due to it being overseas. So, at the end, it looks like Vancouver, St. Louis, or LA(Coliseum or Rose Bowl).

It very possible London could be the city for WMXXX.... Doubtful it Russia, then Rio seems like a viable city to host the event....
My guess somewhere in North America.... Would say keep tradition and stay in NYC for 30, but with 29 being in the NJ/NYC area it possible they going elsewhere??

Yo Guys,

I'd like to throw out my vote for DALLAS. Jerry Jones just built the most expensive, outrageous, and grand stage of them all in arguably the most American state of all. I think, not only will it NOT be in Europe, it will be at Cowboys Stadium. And after attending in Miami this year, you can bet you ass I'll be wherever 30 is.

Very much doubt a mile stone WM would be tested in such a way so randomly remember SummerSlam 1992 was 20 years ago its very diifrent ball game this is a untested and risky move to stage WM in london, I would think they would test run a pay per view in this day and age and see how it sells-The UK buyrate isnt the problem, its the US and the timing.

the time restraint means the US would watch in the afternoon.

what about other countrys time retraints that would factor in as well

I would say until a major pay per view that isnt WM tests the water it wont happen but if it does I would give anything to go

i doupt that they would bring Wreslemania in Vancouver. we haven't had a live event in years. but when they do come its a sold out smackdown house show. we have had ppv in Vancouver years ago. I know they were considering us before for wrestlemania 29. I also read the vince came out to cheak out Vancouver. but im sure that our Vancouver riot hurt us alot. i HOPE that we get it it would be #SSSIIICCCKKK

KJ PUNK

There is no way they would put WM in London, mainly because they wouldn't want to run the PPV at 10 am in the US (where most of their buys come from) and if they aired it on tape delay, a good number of people would just look up the spoilers. I do, however, think that they will have a normal PPV there within the next 5 years. It just won't be one of the big ones, though.

I'm aware of the 100 problems with it, but how crazy would it would be to have the biggest PPV in Wembley, it would raise WWE's global popularity again with all the promotions they'll do etc.

Nothing, the problem is the timezone :p

Tomsta666

There shouldn't really be a problem with the timezones. The UK is between 5 and 7 hours in front of the US, dependant on which coast your on. So even if we did get it, and it started at the standard 8 pm it would mean that it would be live in the US mid- afternoon. Is that really a major problem?

KJ PUNK

Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas should host WM30. Can hold over 100,000 people and would be a sight to see.

I think WM would benefit from being in the UK, there are a number to large enough venues, like Wembly, Millennium stadium, the Olympic stadium etc. I feel it would make WM a more prestigious event for it to be held in the UK. And I am aware people in us are worried about timezone issues, but Europe would love it, and I'm fairly certain there would be enough Ppv buys to make it very lucrative. After all I think there are more fans in Europe as a continent than in the USA.
