Nexus - I dont hate the song itself. Its just that it doesnt fit this group at all. They could use one of those gimmicky theme songs that everyone used to have back in the day created by Jim Johnston.

Hope nobody’s done this thread before?

Entrance music has been an essential part of Pro Wrestling for many years now. There have been some excellent tunes… and some awful ones too! Some are generic/boring while others are catchy/epitomise the Superstar they represent.

My personal favourite is, obviously, I’m The Mountie (... I’m handsome, I’m brave, I’m strong. I’m The Mountie and I enforce the law. You can try to run but you can never hide. I'm The Mountie - I always get my man.)! A brilliant and amusing theme! Comedy gold!

Others that spring to mind from the 80s/early-90s include: a couple of classical pieces – Also Sprach Zarathustra (Ric Flair) and Pomp And Circumstance/Land Of Hope And Glory (Randy Savage). Ultimate Warrior’s song was cool (the guy’s a goof but his music was great). Hogan’s Real American annoyed the hell out of me though. In the late 90s DX and The New Age Outlaw’s songs always stuck in my head.

More recently, I found Christian’s first solo theme (when he split from Edge) to be hilarious (Christian… Christian… At last you’re on your own!), I always loved Undertaker’s You’re Gonna Pay from the Big Evil days (bring back that version of 'Taker) and Goldberg’s song worked really well with his intense character too! RVD’s One Of A Kind also kicked ass!

That’s not forgetting some of the tunes performed by well-known bands: Metallica (The Sandman in ECW), Pantera (RVD in ECW), Motorhead (The Game and Evolution), Disturbed (Stone Cold for a short while in the early 00s) and Killswitch Engage (CM Punk/SES).

Anyway, enough of my best entrance songs… how about you guys? Past or present? What do you think?

I think Sandman used the Metallica version to begin with and then the Motorhead cover later on (probably copyright issues). Also loved the King Of Kings Triple H tune (they should have used that more often) and couldn't agree more regarding Christian's music.

Although I have many favorite wrestlers and theme songs through the years, by far my favorite theme song was Golddust, his image, his whole entrance with the lights, the video, the entrance, the Shattered Dreams theme song totally fit in and brought it all together! Basically the old in house themes were the best. The composers knew exactly how the music needed to sound in order to match the wrestler and it was an integral part of their character. The music would hit and you knew who was coming down the entrance.

Today, this generic rock all sounds the same and does nothing for the character. Very dull.

Jeez that song takes me back to better Taker times. He was soo evil back then. By far the scariest he's ever been, because it was very believeable that this man could take his gimmick WAY TOO far like he did with in the Ministry. I wish to God he would pull this theme out just one more time for his last match. I seriously feel like fighting someone now after listening to that theme...
