Nope very legal. Back then "claw" holds were pretty popular and quite over with the crowds.

The Iron Claw was a signature move of the Von Erich family

Kayfabe was bigger back then and the audience believed it a lot more than they do now.

I'm not entirely sure if this is how its supposed to be done but when me and my friends wrestled and someone did the claw on me their fingers were pressing down on my temples and it did hurt liek hell

A sleeper hold is actually believable since all breathing things pass out after being choked for a lengthy period of time. Also.. When you have somebodies legs wrapped tightly around your waist then you are one f'ed man. I respect Dolph Ziggler for having that move in this day of Wrestling where fans want fast pace rather than a good, slow, classic match.

Yeah but I'm referring to the sleeper as performed (if you can call it that) by Roddy Piper, Brutus Beefcake etc. Just real fricken sloppy! At least Dolphie's is fairly quick - not the 5 minute snorefests of yesteryear; only to see the victim mount a comeback more often than not.

i guess this sort of claws using ur fingers to hurt ur tendons is true after all i just found it more believable if the iron claw would be used in a more weak place like the neck

A claw on the neck would be a choke buddy lol.

There is a Claw maneuver where they grab the part between the neck and shoulder though

What about the GTS? I'd be thinking, I hope he doesn't fuck this up....again! Man, all he needs is to really mess it up bad one day and someone's nose cartlidge is going right up into their brain. It's a cool move but seriously dangerous, as evidenced by how many have actually gotten hurt by it.

I hate these long finishers, they're boring. Any other time that you "hesitate" with your finisher, like a Swanton, they reverse it.
