The All New NXT!

So the first episode of the new NXT has come and been!! What did everyone think of it? I think it looks great!

We saw some exciting new talents including Bo Dallas, The Ascension (Connor O'Brian and Kenneth Cameron), as well as a main event match between 2 guys in Tyson Kidd and Joe Henning who have proven that they can put on a great match together!
We also got a first real look at Husky Harris' new gimmick; Bray Watt in a video package. I have to say, I can't wait to see that!
We also got an exciting video package hyping Seth Rollins, who we'll see next week, can't wait for that!

I think there's a lot of potential here, and I can't wait to tune into this show each week!

I already care about The Ascension 100 times more than any tag team in WWE currently. They seem like a really cool team in my opinion :)

Yeah I enjoyed it as well. I like that whole sort of "indie" feel to it. Is JR going to be the permanent announcer I wonder? Dusty Rhodes as interim GM is pretty cool too. As with others....yeah the ascension definitely looks very promising......

It took the spot FCW had. Since that happened, it's only available in Florida and some international stations.

I like the revamped NXT, where I didn't dig the other seasons because I only watched until the diva season began. Giventhe fact that they use fcw stars and have Regal and JR on commentary and that the first episode of the revamped season bought me, I'll give NXT another chance.

Enjoyed the show, the new arena layout is really nice, I like the indy feel it has too it.
the commentary of Regal and JR is Awesome!

The first match was okay.. Bo Dallas that's Bo Retundo right?.

Looking forward too seeing Seth Rollins as I have heard alot about him.. Interested in seeing where Husky goes with that new Gimmick too.

Loved the Acension team, the olny thing I would change is there ring names.. For me personally, they don't fit the gimmick.

Kidd and Joe Hennig put on a very good main event! both men looked great in the ring.. the ending finish was nice as that's the first time I have seen Kidd's dungeon lock, also the crowd played there part and added too what was a solid first show.

NXT has always been pretty good. Wrestling is top notch and whilst the storylines aren't exactly great I sometimes find myself enjoying NXt more than Raw.

Glad to see NXT getting even better now though :D

Bodom's actually worked. I liked the Main Event match. Ascensions match was kinda Eh. But I didn't expect much though, as I figured it would be a squash match. The opening match was OK. Bo Dallas needs to work on his promos, badly. Loved his Slingshot Spear though.

Agreed, as talented as he is in the ring, Bo really needs to work on his mic skills. He's in the same boat as so many in WWE at the moment.

And I agree that there was a way too much Raw review. The whole first part (if you watched it in parts) was all just Raw review really.

It is a good thing and you are exactly right, it is the top guys and girls (you will see a beautiful woman called paige very soon) of FCW along with a few mid carders and curtain jerkers (Bateman,Curtis) all on one show it is and will be better than superstars and eventually smackdown i would say raw but it would be pushing it.

PS Yes i did think the FCW show was better than Raw.

To be fair, it is more for the Hardcore wrestling crowd anyways. The ratings, would still tank. It is kids who go "Where is John Cena or Sheamus?" who make the biggest difference. They weren't the ones tuning in to nXt, and it makes the difference. If I were a kid, I'd want to see Cena, Sheamus or watch no show at all.

I'd give it probably 7/10.

The main event was very good IMO. Loved the back & forth and McGillicutty using the Sharpshooter got decent heat.

I thought the undercard matches could've been longer but they served their purpose.

Didn't like the Sandow crap. I'm tired of the same thing on SD!, don't need it twice.

The Bateman/Curtis segment was awkward but the other segments were decent.

Ready to see the other people coming in. Maybe we'll get to see the Florida Heavyweight Championship defended or maybe a NXT Championship?

Another great episode last night!

Richie Steamboat looked good, can't wait to see what the future holds for him!
Seth Rollins got a good showing too, another exciting prospect!
The Ascension again looked good. The fact that they beat a main roster tag team in The Usos is a big indication that perhaps they're well liked?
Good to see that Jinder Mahal got a much better reaction than he does on the main roster. I think he can use NXT to re-assert himself in WWE.

Chris Hero next week! Can't wait for that!
And I'm very much anticipating Bray Wyat!

Rollins looks good, decent finisher too
Mahal just doesn't do it for me, sorry. Just a very bland heel for me
Kruger has a good look about him, his music amused me, tune of a football chant back home
Big win for The Ascension against the Uso's. Decent tag match, still not sold on their finisher though

Holy mother 7 matches in one show, Smackdown has already been outshined in my eyes. Ascension are still a cool tag team, Jinder still sucks, Jiro has actually been released, Aiden English has not won a single match on tv FCW or NXT, Rick victor is to good to be jobbing, Bateman vs Curtis was meh at the very most. Steamboat has always bored me, Rollins looked good Jiro fucked the finish though.

100% agreed. After Curtis won season 2 f NXT, I kind of expected him to team with Bateman to go after those tag titles after Truth turned heel.
I hope they revisit the Curtis/Bateman team though.

I'll admit, wasn't a big fan of NXT after the 1st season so barely watched it. Not overly familiar with Batemen (bar a Ryback squashing a few weeks back!) and have never seen Curtis before. Probably the fact I had no real idea who either of the two were made me care less about the match

Give them time to grow on you, if you still don't like them, then fair enough, but the least you can do is give them a chance.

Once again another great episode of NXT I have just seen. Already am enjoying it more than this weeks past episodes of Raw and Smackdown. Really cool to see new people compete. Match of the night was the 6-man tag main event match. Thought it was really funny during the main event when regal said how Hunico and Camacho met and that Camacho bit off the guys nose who stabbed Hunico.

2 divas of the future featured, and 2 divas who both look good and can both wrestle well. I can't wait to see Sofia Cortez and Paige on the main roster!
Finally saw Chris Hero, or Kasius Ohno in action. He has a very aggressive in-ring style, and he makes a discuss elbow look like a legit finisher (helped by the selling of Mike Dalton).
A good main event with Tyson Kidd teaming with Seth Rollins and Bo Dallas against Joe Henning, Hunico and Camacho. Good to see Camacho getting in-ring time on NXT.
Another intriguing video promo for Bray Wyatt. Can't wait to see the guy!

Agreed, so far all the matches have been relatively short. the nly real long match was the main event of the first episode where Kidd and Henning put on a great show. I hope we get some rivalries and feuds going soon.

And yeah, Dusty's the GM of the show, and I'm pretty sure he's actually involved on the creative team (or he was at FCW anyway) so I assume he's the real GM dealing with booking the show etc.

I really like the feel, the talent, the whole vibe of you don't know what's coming next. I guess when you don't have any expectations it's easier to be satisfied with what you get. Biggest problem with Raw is expectation - and WWE does nothing but promote that expectation.

Love love love the new nxt show. I'm just catching up on all of it right now and I can't get enough. The first thing that came to mind when I first saw it was Impact (except w/ an infinite money pool backing it up. lol) . Its got the same feel to it: Small, intimate, no non sense, just wrestling. Just wish WWE made full episodes accessible on their website. Oh well, no worries, as long as I can find it somewhere.

Mr. Punk, thanks so much for the upload. I can't seem to find the new ones on youtube. I am so stinkin' impressed with what NXT has become over the last year. I think it might secretly be WWE's best show. Why? It doesn't have the taint of one wrestler or another being super popular and always having to be over. The writers and wrestlers can develop, take chances, and almost just have fun with what they're doing. I look at just about ever wrestler on their roster (ok, not all) and have some interest in them. I almost hate to see some of these guys go to the next level and get lost in the see of popularity.

Agreed SilverGhost. It was odd that they called the DQ for knocking whichever Uso that was down. This could be a great feud.

I wish they'd add about half an hour more so we could get to see a few more guys wrestler. I'm happy the championship gold rush will be over (I know it is already and I know that they've had the shows already taped) because I want to see the return of more of the guys. After this weeks NXT I'm convinced that Richie still needs a little more fine tuning before he's ready for the main roster. He doesn't land cleanly too often. I kind of feel the same about Bo Dallas. Both are almost there but need to polish their work. I'm still the only one that's sad Johnny Curtis hasn't been on the show. Love this guy and hate to see him off the air. Also, more McIntyre please!

Basically just straight up competitve matches in a relaxed atmosphere showcasing the best talent that is moving forward and they still haven't shown some of there best guys yet.

Nope, sorry, can't agree. RAW ratings dropped down recently because it had MORE matches. Matches without talking, without highlighted story are simply boring, it's like watching a random soccer game. Same looking guys kicking a ball, whooopeee. The FCW wrestlers, besides maybe Ascension and all the guys that have been already drafted to SmackDown! are simply boring and have no mic skills (except maybe 4 of them, half being divas).

I guess if you want to have that bar set up high for the young guys who are on NXT and showing us what they can do but it is rather unfair though. We know NXT won't be up to par with RAW or SD! but that isn't a bad thing since they are the upstarts. We watch it because the future of the WWE is where everything shines. Right now they are diamonds in the rough.

They are slowly working in promos. Ohno cut one a few weeks ago that was fantastic. I think you're missing about half a dozen or so guys from that list. To me, you can get a Divas match that is an actual match that lasts longer than a piss break. You have McIntyre, Hennig and a few others that are getting to showcase what they have (i.e., great talent). Basically you have just really good wrestling. I can't tell you how excited I am when it's Wednesday (have to find them quick on youtube before they are pulled...not shown here in the States for whatever reason). So many of these guys are getting the chance to show their talent, gain that audience, and then transition much more smoothly into the big leagues. The Ascension could've been totally swallowed up or been another Highlanders if they had just showed up one day on Raw. What made Barrett and his crew so popular and made it easier to transition was that they had NXT. People got a chance to watch these guys grow. Now, the cream has risen to the top and most of the original NXT guys are some of the WWE's big future guys. With what they're doing now with NXT you are getting a chance to see these guys grow and become the next big thing. The best part about it for me is that there's no merchandise wars, no popularity contests, no need to feel like you've got to do some dumb gimmick or use some dumb catchphrase because otherwise you'll be forgotten. NXT is essentially what "watching wrestling" should be.
