After reading many of your thoughts on your favourite movies, I've decided we should settle the argument as to what really is 'EWN's greatest movie' from the past 5 years.

Here's how it works:

Firstly, every member posts ONE movie that they think is the best from the past 5 years (I will allow any film released in movie theaters/ cinemas from Jan 1 2007 - NOT DVD). The deadline for this shall be 1 July, 2012.
Next, the playoffs shall commence. This is where two movies will contend in a poll to decide which is better, with the winner advancing. Cleanse and repeat until we are left with two contenders...Let me know which way you think the draw for the playoffs should be done - 1. Simply random or 2. I shall rank them based on Rotten Tomatoes' rating with the best ranked going against the worst ranked etc. I personally prefer choice #2, but whatever the consensus is.
Any loophole or questionable choice made will be ratified and decided upon by me. End of.

I decided to do only 5 years just to see how this thing works out. We can gladly do all-time movies at another stage if this is popular enough.

Ok, so my choice is Drive (2011).

Great story, and fantastic performances by Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan. So good that Gosling really doesn't need to say much through the entire film!

My favourite film of the last 5 years is probably Drive but since you already said that I'll nominate an Iranian film called 'A Separation' (2011).
Might not be popular with people here but you seriously have to watch it to judge it, it even won the Oscar for Best Foreign film. Bielive the hype.

Love your taste dude. I saw this before it won the Oscars on recommendation and it was amazing.

This is hard though since everyone gets 1 choice......

I want to use the Hurt Locker sooooooo bad but I will give my nod to Slumdog Millionaire

This is a great idea. I am going to nominate "The Blind Side" (2009).

Amazing story and brilliantly portrayed from real life to big screen. Sandra Bullock plays one of her greatest roles ever and it is a great movie from start to finish, not a bad inch of this film.

Yea I was very big on this movie. Heard about it during the NFL Draft the year Michael Oher was draft to the Ravens, and when I heard a movie was going to be coming out, it really made me connect with the realness of the story and movie

The funny thing is, I only watched it by chance as I got outvoted by a bunch of girls during our Film Night!

I nominate The Avengers. It had a mixture of everything. Comedy, drama, suspension, action, all of it. Whether the person watching was a comic book fan or not, this movie appealed to anyone and everyone.

Love Exposure (2008, Sion Sono)

The Raid: Redemption is a close second. The only two films from the past five years I'd give 10/10 anyhoo.

Yeah, I need to see the second one.

But I look forward to seeing Love Exposure in the playoffs.

Ill put in a comedy film. Since Anchorman: Legend of Ron Burgandy is too "old" for this competition Ill have to go with Tropic Thunder(2008). Great cast and a funny movie.

I wanna change my vote to Mary & Max (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0978762/), this film fuckin' floored me. A better animated film than Toy Story 3, Up, Coraline, or anything that Japan has taken out in the past five years.
