If John Cena and Randy Orton were both out of action for an extended time who would you pick as the new front man for the WWE?

Who would WWE pick?

Everybody has their favorite wrestlers, but you have to admit not every wrestler has the talking and political skills to be the corporate #1 franchise player. It cannot be based on just in ring skills alone. It is a hard question if you think of it in those terms.

He is not my personal favorite, but my guess would be The Miz.

Miz would be a great choice. He has that desire to learn and always better himself.

CM Punk as the monster heel.....! For obvious reasons!

The Miz as an anti hero.....! For obvious reasons!

Daniel Bryan as the face.....! If he sorts his mic skills out a tad, this will come in time! or John Morrison, next Shaun Michaels imo!

Tell em hawk!"

Even if we wanted to pick, as soon as Cena and Orton were out of action, you could bet HHH would be lacing up those boots quicker than Big Daddy V at a buffett!!! theres no way Trips is gonna miss out out on that spot

I don't think it will be Edge, he wants to leave wrestling in a few years, and WWE need to plan long-term. CM Punk, Miz, Barrett, Bryan, Morrison, Sheamus and McIntyre are the future main eventers. Those are the guys that the WWE need to be building the company around. Anyway, Cena is only 33 and Orton is only 30, both are going to be around for several years yet.

yes but the starting post said out for an extended amount of time not gone, so if orton and cena would be gone for like a year i do think edge would be a main guy for that period of time

edge already headlined the main event with cena if u guys remember
and now he will again on smackdown against kane.

My bad, I really should read the whole post before replying!! Agreed, Edge would deffinately become one of the front men if Cena and Orton were out for a long period of time.

I'd say Miz would have to be one of them. CM Punk to me does not have the build to be a beleivable champion but I think the same way about Rey Mysterio as well. I think what they are doing with Ted Bibiase Jr. is dumb. The guy has the look and skills to be a top wrestler. I like Daniel Bryan's wrestling ability is very good but is mic skills and look isn't so I cannot put him up there. I'd say Wade Barrett could be up there as well. So I guess my thoughts would be:

Miz: Against the world
Barrett: The bad guy
Dibiase Jr.: Good guy

I think Punk is great, but like said before.. I dont think he has... Wait make that had the look. I like the short hair.

I also say DiBiasi, though IMO he needs a more cutting edge finisher.. He should steal Goldusts and end teh fued that way.

John Morrison is wicked in ring, but I dont feel he has "the look".. Theres just something missing.

The Miz, as much as I love the guy, I think in 5 years he will be mid-carding 24/7. I hope Im wrong, but it just seems to be likely once all is said and done.. Like Carlito or something.

I agree The Miz,CM Punk and Shamus could easily fill the role. But I think everyone is forgetting someone with a slight speech impediment and has an awesome mascot by the name of the swagger soaring eagle. Thats right Jack Swagger is his name and rasslin is his game. He's been champion before and he showed he can handle the spotlight. He's kind of taken a back seat to the big storyline, well really the only storyline (Nexus and Cena) but who hasn't? I enjoy watching Swagger in the ring and I like his persona. He won the money in the bank contract and I think when he cashed it in on Smackdown defeating Jericho it was one of the biggest shockers in rasslin history. Unfortunately dirt sheets and youtube ruined the special moment since it was taped and not a live show. But it still was great to see that a special moment like that can happen on Smackdown or raw and not only on ppv's. I guess that's one of the reasons why I try not to miss watching a show, you never know what might happen just as long as you don't go on youtube or dirtsheet sites before hand.

Let us not forget the Daniel Bryan. He is IMO, the young Brett Hart of 1990. Give him time to develop his character and we will soon see him as one of the new faces of WWE. People say that he doesn't have the "it" factor, but imagine him on Conan O Brian in a few years hyping Wrestlemania 31 or him and Jared doing a subway commercial. It works in my mind. WWE can build the entire company around him, and if they dont, then they would have seriously dropped the ball. Hes a likeable guy. Likeable with the kids, and likeable with the smart wrestling fans. Plus his theme song is the best. "Ride of the Valkeries" is the greatest theme since flair's "2001 a Space Oddessy".....

I forgot to mention Bryan Danielson. He should and will be the face of the company in years to come. When Vince McMahon talks about you on camera your headed to the top. Danielson could rape baby goats and I still would be a fan.;)

To my SHOWERHEADS, I'll be gone for a few days (going to Vegas BABY) but don't worry I'll be back soon enough to give you all my infinite wisdom as I only can. Until then I only have one thing left to say, U MAD???

Edge and Barrett FTW, I would love to see a feud culminate between these two. It would be off the chain on the mic and in the ring.

Who could replace Orton & Cena as the faces of the company if they were out for an extended amount of time?

That's a hard one simply because it's a really small list. I mean Triple H & Edge would probably be the two guys without question. I know some people mentioned The Miz, Daniel Bryan, John Morrison, Sheamus, Wade Barrett, CM Punk & Jack Swagger but I'm sorry to say most them just don't fit it.

The Miz: He has admirable mic skills but his in ring work is nothing special let alone thinking he could pull off the anti-hero role? Yeah...I think not & really should a former "reality star" be a face of a major company? I wouldn't think so. I've said it before & I'll say it again, Miz is a mid-card talent at best.

-Daniel Bryan: The only thing going for him is his wrestling skills other then that he has nothing else. No mic skills, not charasmatic, boring to look at & the list goes on...Daniel Bryan will never be the face of the company.

-John Morrison: This guy out of all of them has the potential BUT Morrison seems to be lacking in one or two things. I don't know what for sure, maybe it's his corny gimmick or possibly he's needs work on his mic skills. I think I'm not alone either on this since WWE must be thinking the same thing because he still hasn't been pushed to the top. Morrison is really a big question mark.

-Sheamus: This guy is going to be a top dog in the WWE for a long time but he will never be the face of the company.

-Wade Barrett: This is another guy that will be a top dog in the WWE for a long time & I'll be honest, Wade Barrett reminds me in some ways of an early Triple H. He has somethings to tweak & work on but he has great potential & hopefully for his sakes, he doesn't blow it. I don't know if Barrett will ever be the face of the company but there is no question he's going to be one of the top 5 guys in the company in the coming years.

-CM Punk: Great talent but not a face of the company kind of guy.

-Jack Swagger: This guy has potential to be a Kurt Angle-like but he needs to work on somethings & tweak somethings. Swagger will never be the face of the company but if he puts the work in he could be one of the top 5 guys in the WWE with ease.

So, when it comes down to it. Triple H & Edge would have to carry the reigns until Orton & Cena returned. The real future faces of the company are not even in the company yet. Truth be told though, Orton (30 years of age) & Cena (33 years of age) are going to be the faces of the company for many more years especially Orton since he just recently signed a 10 year deal. If either one of these guys leaves I would say Cena would be the first to leave as I see Cena trying his hand in acting more down-the-line. Whether he succeeds or not is another question. In the meantime, Orton & Cena are going to be the faces of the company for a long time.

Punk is tall but too skinny. Look at the Miz when he is standing next to Cena, dude has put on some serious weight since coming to the WWE.

John Cena is over for his looks an personality..

So I would have to say John Morrison would be the perfect replacement for him.

Orton is over for the same thing PLUS his attitude era like style that is present with him.

So Cm Punk would be his perfect replacement.

As for Edge-- The guy is already on the WWE's list of faces of the company.

-The Undertaker

-Randy Orton

-John Cena

-Kane

-Rey Mysterio

-Edge
