With the WWE's annual Slammy Awards coming up soon, the early categories for 2010 were revealed on the front page-Shocking moment of the year, Match of the year, Superstar of the year, and Diva of the year.
My picks for the early categories would have to be:
Diva of the year: Natalya. Let's face it, when Beth Phoenix got injured and was off tv for most of this year, Natalya was the only diva that was entertaining in terms of wrestling. She's got to win hands down.
Shocking moment of the year: Even though it just occured, I would have to go with The Miz because, cashing in MITB on Randy after he was jumped by Nexus and successfully defended the WWE title against Barett. I thought for sure that since Miz hadn't cashed in on the past couple ppvs, they would save it for 1 next year, so him cashing in on Raw definitely took me by surprise.
Match of the year: Although many say that the HBK vs The Undertaker match at WM 26 was MOTY, I reckon their bout at WM25 was better. You can't beat the classics.
Ever since Daniel Bryan showed up on tv, any match hes in has the ability to win MOTY, because he's just that good. There is 1 match in particular that was unforgettable, at Bragging Rights where Daniel Bryan took on Dolph Ziggler in an interpromotional match. This contest had several near falls, and showed us that Daniel Bryan is here to stay, and that dolph could pull off a 5 star match.
Finally the most prestigious award, Superstar of the year: Who has accomplished the most in the WWE this year? I would have to go with The Miz, because he's AWESOME(no pun intended). In the current year so far he's accomplished-
1) Mentored daniel bryan on nxt
2) Mentored alex riley on nxt
3) United states champion
4) Unified tag team champion
5) Team captain of raw against smackdown at bragging rights
6) Money in the bank winner
7) Last but not least, WWE champion, the greatest highlight of The Miz's year and career.
So with my opinions out here, who do you want to see win a slammy in the announced categories?
