Hey everyone, considering that the Technical Wrestler Tournament is winding down, and that i have nothing better to do at present time, your Straight Edged Savior will be proudly bringing you a new tournament (well actually several new tournaments over the next few months but the next one will be...) Pro Wrestling's Best Feuds/Rivalries!!!
As this is no longer in the WWE section, I see no reason whatsoever to limit it to WWE only feuds, and it is in fact encouraged to use feuds from other promotions. I will be setting it up in a very similar way I did with the technical wrestlers tournament in that everyone will initially put in a vote for who they want to be in tournament altogether, and the match-ups will done in the same way as well.
There will be a few minor differences though with the way this will go down. Firstly, and namely, the fact that there will be NO automatic entrants this time, so all 16 spots in the tournament will be decided by the lot of you. The automatic entrants in the last tournament caused confusion and controversy so they have been eliminated altogether.
Point of this thread is to get you all to start thinking of your favorite rivalries beforehand. I think what's great about his upcoming tournament is that it is more opinion based, in that, a lot of different things could potentially make a rivalry great, and we all have different opinions as to how valued these components and factors are. For instance, one might say that Stone Cold vs. The Rock was the greatest rivalry ever because they were the two biggest stars in wrestling at the ime and the promos they had for their matches were the stuff of legends, but then again, someone may say Misawa vs. Kobashi was the greatest rivalry ever because EVERY match they had could be considered a 5 star match, and I've even heard one of their matches claimed to make "Shawn Micheals vs. The Undertaker look like Big Daddy V vs. Mark Henry." OR one could claim that Shawn Michaels vs Bret Hart is the best rivalry because of the real life hatred they had for one another.
Another great thing about this thread is that it isn't as limited as the technical wrestling tournament in that it can contain tag-teams, factions, and even non-wrestling types (e.g. Eric Bishcoff vs Vince McMahon).
Well, give it some thought, and if you took the time to read every word of this unnecessarily long post, then you have just accomplished a commendable feat and you should be proud of yourself for your incredible act of patience. You sir, (or madam) are a better person than I.
