Does anyone recall a Wrestlemania main event that the baby face did not go over or win?

#9 Brett lost to Yoko but Hogan walks away with the title.

There were a few HHH wins that I do not remember if he was a heel or face.

Wrestlemania 2000, when Haitch retained. I'm fairly certain he was a heel at the time.
X-seven also ended with a heel turn, if that counts.

Wrestlemania 2000 with HHH beating Mick Foley, Rock and Big Show and forming the McMahon-Helsmley Regime, Wrestlemania 17 with the Austin heel turn vs the Rock, depending on what you wanna call the main event of Wrestlemania 19: Rock over Austin and HHH over Booker T, Wrestlemania 24 with Orton over HHH & Cena. Most of these weren't the "physical" main event, but they were all either for a heavyweight championship or a "sub-main event"

Well there's a reason why heels don't lose often at Mania. Sure, there have been a few heels winning, but you are right, most of the time faces win because we all know heels can't win 90% of the time in a clean match, and I think they are a bit hesitant to have someone get a cheap win at a main-event at Wrestlemania.

And thats why WWE almost never drops the ball at WM, unlike TNA.

If I remember right, wasn't WM 16 when HHH won, the first time a heel retained the WWE championship at WM?

Obviously WM 24 in recent memory, where Orton beat Triple H and Cena to retain the WWE title.

Heel HHH. When he won at Wrestlemania 2000 it was the first time a heel had won in the main event at wrestlemania. When Austin turned heel at wrestlemania X7 it marked the second consecutive Mania where the Rock had been screwed out of the WWF championship by Vince.

Since then a babyface has gone over in every match in the top spot at the grandaddy of them all!

Heels have won title matches since then but never in the last match on the card. Unless you include when Cena has won as he almost always gets Booed out of the building at The Big One ; )

In My Humble Opinion, the most despicable finish to a match at Mania occurred when HHH crushed Booker T's hopes of becoming the World Hearyweight Title. Despicable for two reasons. Firstly, it took Vinnie Mac's Favouite Son around 30 seconds to make the cover on poor old Books after The Match Winning Pedigree! It made Mr Huffman look like such a chump, the skinny old lady in the third row would have kicked out of it!
Secondly, Booker got the title shot by winning a 20 man Battle Royale on Raw. Last eliminating SuperNovaHeel Rock who had been distracted by The Hamburgle.... Oops, sorry, By the Hurricane.
After the BR he was on fire! The fans were finally "Digging It". Then they brought up his past (robbery, prison sentence) and The Tripster played the dreaded race card, There was no way in hell Booker was going to lose that match. He had to win that match more than any other wrestler had to win a match in history!.... But he never.... After that Booker T was never seen as a real title challenger until he became King Booker years later.

It was a travesty, but nothing more than a day at the office for the political nightmare that is The Game.

I dug it Sucka! Booker sure as hell deserved to win the title there, or at least allowed to put on a great match! Triple H screwed him over and its not the first time, and may not be the last time.

I'm glad you remember this horrible match as well dude! I was so disappointed at that one.... Let's hope selfish Hunter never rears it's ugly head again.

Then again, I heard that Haitch was the mind behind a recent fued, can't remember which one, but I think it turned out well. If he keeps that up, and stops being the asshole he was during that time, I'll be content.

He's been know to help when new headliners are needed, but his on screen presence (like Cena) never been good for the Mid-Card... But Backstage, I think I would actually prefer him steering the ship rather than Old Man Vince.

Well since Haitch is still in touch with reality, he might be able to do something good.
