View Full Version : Super weight division in the WWE

With the likes of Daniel Bryan, Kaval (I know he's been fired but if he wasn't), Justin Gabriel, Evan Bourne, Rey Mysterio, Chavo Gurrero, etc. I wonder why WWE does not create a division (Problably called the SUPER WEIGHT DIVISION) where small guys and upcoming superstars can show their talent. This division would be similar to the X division in TNA. All of the guys mentioned above are great in the ring and are capable of producing 5 star matches, for example you cannot tell me that you wouldn't like to see Daniel Bryan vs Kaval or Evan Bourne vs Justin Gabriel for the Super Weight title in a paper view. This division will serve as a building block for the these individuals to enter the Main event scene. With this division the chances of the smaller wrestlers just being buried are minimized.

What do guys think? Is it a good idea? If yes or no explain. Or just leave a comment, I'm jus sayin...

I'm glad someone else has realized this, as I suggested the very same thing a few weeks back. It's a great idea from my point of view, as WWE have so many mid carders that are high-flyers, and people are complaining that Rey Mysterio shouldn't be competing for the WHC, so this division would be for him also.
Not sure if it should be called the 'Super Weight division'. Why not just bring back the Cruiser Weight title and call it the 'Cruiser Weight division'? That or the 'Light Heavyweight division'.

Vince, or the WWE has always disliked the lightheavyweight/cruiserweight level. I agree theres much they could do with an x-division style belt, but in no time it would go the way of the tag belts.

They don't need to call it the Super weight belt I just thought about that, but I don't want them to call it the cruiser weight the name doesnt' do justice to how great some of these superstars are but light heavyweight championship sounds good, I'm jus sayin...

I would suggest that WWE make WWE Superstars into a show especially for this division. It has win written all over it, and it would get ratings.

But you already know that.........;D

@ Tommy Thunder I would like to see that happen and they can bring back some old and new superstars to the show, for example Paul London, The Brian Kendrick, Billy Kidman, Christopher Daniel from the city of angels, etc., I'm jus sayin...

The cost of creating new belts for the smaller athletes will be huge. They have just made new belts for the divas division, and the tagteam division, so I don't think they would spend more on something that VKM doesn't like in the first place.

Rey
Bourne
Low-Ki
Kofi
Chavo
Gabriel
Cody
Yoshi
Danielson

I'm forgetting people but there's enough talent there to create a division

Christian, Primo, Joey Mercury, Tyson Kidd and Trent Barreta are 5 others you can add to that list.

Superstars pretty much has its own superstars these days, a Superstars Champ or whatever would be fun. Oh and speaking of Low Ki check this out....

The cost of creating a belt????
Dude you can have them made for like $500
Vince has always like the big guys ie Crap Khali
I think Vince hates wrestling and wants instead a circus
Middle weights will always have the best matches from Steamboat to Hart to Micheals

Actually, those belts can cost anywhere from $1,500.00 to $3,000.00 all depending on the nature. There are some things I heard like The Undisputed Championship, That was rumored to be closer to $10,000.00 to make.

Also, I believe there should be a division specifically for the guys like Rey, Bryan, Punk, etc. Smaller guys who actually have potential for MAJOR title runs. It would establish credibility with these "internet sensations" and would honestly make perfect sense. And it shouldn't be taken by weight class, just the great wrestlers.

Yeah, but now you can get a replica belt for that much. A real one is worth much more. Its WWE dude, not TNA, so I'm sure they would pay a hell of alot more for a belt. That crappy Immortal belt cost $18,000 to make, so I'm sure WWE will spend more than that if they were to create a new belt.

The WWE is worth millions a few hundred for a belt or a few thousand is nothing and please stop hating TNA or other wrestling if you do not watch it.

I agree Jeff Hardy's belt was crap but you must agree so was Cena's spining belt, Stone Cold's smoking skull and Edge's belt with a friggin R in the middle (Belts R Us) where crap. The best one for me will always be Flair's old belt the one that Edge has currently.

its the same typical talk among the iwc
revive the tag devision, the light heavyweight and cruiserweight devision aswell
do it DO IT
now i agree i would like to see some high flying offense
but unfortunently if u want good quality, jaw dropping death defying matches, watch ROH, or jap and mexican indy shows

There is talk of this. I don't mind unifying the main titles, but unifying the mid card titles would be craziness. There are way too many talented mid card wrestlers in WWE and not enough titles to accommodate them. Although apparently there will be a huge clearout of talent after Mania, so there might not be any need for another title.

I watch TNA when I can, and I don't hate it. I hate parts of it, and for good reason, that anyone with common sense can understand. Get it right.

I'd rather have the Rated R, or spinner WWE belt over the Immortal one. At least those are gold. The Immortal title looks like a butterfly shat on it.

First; You understood how WWE main evented a PPV on Cena free or fired to have him come back on TV 2 weeks later ( on the next show as Juan Cena) If TNA did that EVERYONE would be against it.
Second; The TNA belt is back to its old self now that Anderson won.
I love WWF/E for giving me great memories yet I still believe that when something is good its is good not because we are marketing the crap out of it (Avatar).

When did WWE come into this? I thought we were discussing TNA. Look, every IWC'er hated when Cena showed up week after week after he was "fired". And of course if TNA did that everyone would be against it. If its someone who bores us to death- e.g. Kevin Nash, or Jeff Jarett, then obviously we would hate them.

I bet you jizzed when Nash appeared at the Rumble.
