i was thinking after the royal rumble that del rio's push is so sloppy and so rushed its not helping him.
1) he entered the rumble late on so he wasnt devloped as a strong tough slugger who can hold his own with the best in wwe.
he basically got lucky with his entrance number.
2) His charecter is very cheesy and in my opinion i cannot take him seriously.... for example A Chiwawa dressed as rey mysterio.
i think the writing and casting of his charecter is very sloppy and rushed and all it does is push another relative nobody into the limelight.....
also the car thing and the stupid gay scarf have to go!

1- You do know the majority of winners of the Royal Rumbles came in late. And not all Royal Rumble winners win the title or even make it to the Main Event at Wrestlemania (http://prowrestling.about.com/od/thewrestlers/a/rumblewinnerfat.htm).
2- This is more your opinion because I find his whole gimmick enjoyable. It reminds me of the old heels I watched as a kid.

Typical IWC. Always complaining about someone else's push when the guy they used to support finally breaks through

This guy is a talented wrestler, he may not have been a WWE superstar for a while but its not like hes green. He can cut a promo, wrestle a match, get people to hate him etc. Hes smug and arrogant and yeah a little bit cheesy, but the guy is believable, Im glad he won the Rumble and I hope he wins the belt at Mania.

I would have rather seen Christian win, but Del Rio is great, he deserves it.

Del Rio is born a main eventer. He is great in the ring andplays the arrogant aristocrat perfectly in my eyes. I was very happy that he won the Rumble, and I really have a feeling he could be WWE's top heel within a year.

I would argue that he's already in that discussion.

From the Smackdown side, without doubt, if you include Punk hes a very close second.

I'd say the WWE picked the perfect person to push to the moon, but you already knew that ;)

He definately is. He just needs to solidify it with a great performance at Wrestlemania, and then it's a homerun. :)

This is sort of ironically amusing considering the strength, or complete lack thereof, of your own wobbly-legged, poorly-written amateur hour assertion that you've got here.

I think Del Rios doing a good job, considering that people said that he was a "recycled JBL with a mexican twist"..or something like that.
His promos have been gold(even if he speaks alot of Mexican and I don't understand him), and he draws ALOT of heat for someone who has barely spent 6-7 months in the WWE. I think they booked him well. The celebration on Raw this week was good too. Its usually the face that slams a guitar into the heel champ(CM Punk and Chavo on WWECW I think), but this time it was the other way around. Hes a breath of fresh air to heels, since he wins his matches cleanly.

maybe he is being pushed too soon however i do enjoy his character. i dont watch smackdown like i use too but he may lead me to try to catch it more. watching tonight i was thinking if they are going to push someone 'too soon' (by this i mean not going through the tag team, ic/us belts first) this is the way to do it. i like the fact that he has his own announcer who speaks in nothing but spanish. im shocked they haven't done something with him treating white people as 'day labor' like many of the latin population in america does. kinda do disturbing jobs like make a poor out of work white lady clean his bathroom after he uses it (maybe thats going too far but eh itd get him over more). the best thing i have noticed about him is you actually believe him, maybe not with the cars, but he comes off as realistic.
