I would say right now the vacant TNA World title is probably at an all time high. People may disagree, but although we don't have a champion yet, the matches especially Angle vs Hardy has improved the title prestige.
I remember in WCW and seeing guys like David Aquette and Vince Russo holding them. That lowered and hurt very much the WCW world title and gave it less credibility.
But right now in TNA the guys involved and fighting to be the next champion has only made the World title that much better.
What do you guys think?

I would've liked to have seen a larger scale tournament myself... They're going about two months without a champion, they could've easily had a 32 man bracket with that amount of time.
I also would've liked to have seen Bound For Glory feature the bracket from the quarter finals onwards, much like Wrestlemania IV.
As for the actual titles prestige? mmm, nah, I don't think the tournament has been pushed enough for the title to have gained from it.

Yeah I'm one for having big tournament too, would have been good to see some Fortue vs EV2.0 vs TNA going on.
What would have been really cool to have happened is an out of hat tournament where nobody knows who they will be up against, could be a little risky but would have had some good and interesting matchups.

If it were me I would have done a few months-six months with no champion. And have the whole company scrambling to find one. And because of the chaos a champ wouldn't be crowed for a while. That would put some prestige in the thing. Make it an omnipotent object.

Hogan and Bischoff are definitely making up for the plan Vince Russo ruined way back in 2000. Hogan and Bischoff planned this tournament in the WCW from July 2000-October 2000. Hogan was supposed to pin Jeff Jarrett at Bash at the Beach to win the title, then take the belt and disappear from WCW for 3 months. The tournament they planned would have been for a vacant title and would have lasted until Halloween Havoc 3 months later when two heels would be the finalists and Hogan would return with the belt to defend the actual belt. Hogan pinned Jarrett at Bash at Beach and left the arena. While him and Bischoff are on the plane Vince Russo did his Hogan trashing promo and set up another title match right then and there, ruining the entire plan. Now I think this drawn out title vacancy will satisfy Hulk and Eric becaus eit's sort of going to that original plan.

6 month is too long to not a world champion

Not entirely correct, THIS (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTmhVhFlwVo) is the Youtube of what initially went down.

Honestly, I see kinda of as a slap in the face of TNA roster. It is almost as if TNA is saying "None of you are good enough to be our champion right now, wait till will build you up a little."

Agreed. The management of the "specified amount of working dates contract" has been disastrous. Foley, Flair, RVD all got their agreed upon working dates used up far too fast. Not that Flair should be wrestling anyway. To me, it's symbolic of a company in panic - like, we need ratings NOW! So what we had was a few months of star studded cards and now we're left with what is possibly old WCW storylines - and that can only be bad.
Personally I think they are waiting until Jeff Hardy's fate is sealed by the court outcome - then, if he gets off, just wait and see if they don't place ALL their eggs in that basket. This is all, of course, if they don't run out of money before then.

Took the thoughts right outta my head.

The title has it's ups and downs. Honestly back in the day, I always considered the X title the number 1 title in the company because Jarret made the heavyweight title a joke by always winning it in the most ridiculous ways. Recently I thought AJ's reign was pretty darn solid but RVD didn't seem to care. So I'm glad the title is up for grabs. I feel a guy like Anderson can make the title seem important to him.
