Smackdown's World Heavyweight championship lineage.

Does WWE link the World Heavyweight championship's lineage to the "literal" World Heavyweight championship with Frank Gotch and George Hackenschmidt? Or do they link it to the NWA (Race, Flair, Rhodes) and WCW (Hogan, Nash, Jarrett) days when that World title belt was designed exactly the same? Or is its lineage completely separate? I hope it is separate.

My guess would be it carries on from WCW/NWA - Kurt won it from Booker, remember? It would carry on from there.

Yea it's WCW/NWA. Even though their title history will show it as it's own seperate thing. The WWE is known for being ignorant to the rest of the wrestling community unless it's to steal ideas or talent.
