and it comes to the match from WMVI with Savage/Sherri vs Dusty Rhodes/Sapphire, and I notice they have Dusty/Sapphire coming down to some generic ass entrance music instead of the 'HE'S JUST A COMMON MAN.....' theme song we all remember. What the hell was it dubbed over for?

Only thing I can possibly think of is Vince/WWF/WWE didn't own the copyrights to the music. I always thot they owned the rights to pretty much everything they put on screen.

I thought it was written by Jim Johnson for WWF? unless they got sued cause it sound similar to another song.

That match sucked and shouldn't have belonged on the dvd. I rather would have preferred to have seen Savage vs. Crush from WrestleMania IX in their Falls Count Anywhere Match or the SummerSlam 1992 match for the WWE Title vs. Ultimate Warrior.

I thought so too, there were alot of themes written and produced by the Mouth of the South, himself, Mr. Jimmy Hart.

I wonder if he held his own copyrights. I need to look this up now because it's bugging me. Lol

Also, I agree....the match absolutely sucked. Dusty/Sapphire coming to the ring at a combined age of 105 maybe lol

He was at least in his 50's at the time and Sapphire was old as fuck, she was in her 60's I believe.

It also happened with Demolition's theme on the Wrestlemania Anthology DVD set. Rick Derringer did the theme originally and the generic one is horrible compared to Derringer's.

depends, Dusty was likely using a song by a famous artist and they needed to cover it up for the DVD

Don't mean to be a smart ass but Savage/Crush was Wrestlemania X not IX. IX was at Ceasers Palace, X was at Madison Square Garden where Savage hung Crush upside down backstage.

I used to love Dusty Rhodes "American Dream" theme in the WWF days.. I was so mad when he lost the match at one of the PPVs and Sapphire didnt come out.. I remember some kids in my class was telling me she passed away at that time.. It really hurt me back then because I didnt see Dusty since after that.. The Bionic Elbow was the shit..

I think it's a Jimmy Hart creation. But what I can't understand is why edit it out, if he still uses it to this day, whenever he makes an appearance. Maybe they didn't wanna pay Jimmy royalties, or something like that.
