Well i was thinking the other about how wwe has changed with the years and how little impressive or exciting house show are right now, ive only been to three wwe house shows, so let me tell you the card for each one ( doing this by heart so sorry if i miss something and im not mentioning all matches)
1.-smackdown house show before wm 23
super crazy vs funaki vs gregory helms
lashley vs umaga
matt hardy vs mike knox
ecw originals (rvd sabu sandman dreamer) vs new breed(stryker ,burke, etc)
chris benoit vs booker t
batista vs mvp and mr kennedy
2.- raw house show 2008
shelton benjamin vs trevor murdoch
carlito vs jeff hardy
jericho vs shawns micheals
jbl vs cena
triple h vs umaga
3.- raw house show 2011
chris masters vs swagger
zack ryder vs percy jackson
cm punk y alberto del rio vs show and kingston
ziggles vs sin cara
miz vs cena
see what i mean??? no big names, no one you reallly want to see live (personally i marked out with the ecw originals, hbk and y2j).
So i think wwe needs top stars so they can sell more house shows, give more to the fans , not only midcard matches and a cena vs miz match
so what do you guys think???

Yeah house shows are predictable and every house show match is the same move for move with the same ending... i think its attendance suffers cause of that.... its not like it was in the 80s or 90s, no longer to hear about the Pillman vs Liger 5 star house show match, or the legendary Ric Flair vs Bret Hart Iron man match, also the Owen Hart vs Bret Iron man match. WWF use to have soem of the great matches on colisum video such as the Harts vs the steiners..... But talent is different now, ifthey are not on TVthey dont care un like the Wrestler before like Bret Hart, HBK, Ric Flair, Rick Steamboat and so on and so on, when they were told that house attendance was the mostimportant thing, now guys are thought House shows mean nothing and TV is everything.

agree with you, wrestlers dont care anymore about house shows, i dont think even wwe cares, did you know that the last house shows that came over here (4 in 4 different cities) had the same exact card with the exact same results???? thats a joke

It the same thing over and over again at most WWE house shows.....
at least 3 or 4 main event guys depending on booking and contracts, I guess...
the rest are a mix of mid-card to low card to guys they use as jobbers, to a new star as well..

I went to a house a year or so ago and I wasn't to impressed. When I was in high school in 1997/98 we went to all the house shows and they were better than the tv shows. All the wrestlers were having a good time being themselves. I remember Owen and Bulldog joking around the whole match. Never forget Bulldog stroking and sucking an imaginary dick. Remember this was the attitude era, not many young kids there. Saw a Shawn Mchaels and Gold Dust match that was a 25 minute gay joke. They took turns getting each others in holds and acting like they were humping each other. Back when Triple H was in DX he got a hot woman in the crowd to flash the whole stadium, then she got ejected. Austin beat Triple H with like 4 stunners. After the fourth one Triple H over sold them and wobbled around the ring on rubber legs a couple times before he flopped down, the whole time Austin was leaning against the turnbuckle watching him and laughing his ass off. Trips layed there while Austin had fun with the crowd. After Austin left Hunter got Austins cooler of beer, got on the mic for like 15 minutes talking about how bad he just got his ass kicked then preceeded to hand Austins beers out to the fans. Those were the best shows ever, nothing like today.

that sounds like an incredible house show, even better than some tv tapings, but wwe doesnt have that big of stars right now and itsa completly different era though

Yeah, this was when the attitude era was really kicking off and there were almost no kids there. Mostly 15-35 year old guys and hot ass women looking to meet up with the wrestlers after the show.

I went to a house show a couple weeks ago and it was the worst I have ever been to. The crowd was more sparse than any I have been to and just generally weren't into it near as much as in the past. I have been to house shows since I was a kid in the late 80's and I think WWE is at its lowest point as far as talent, not in the ring but just not great entertainers. The whole thing is stale, I really love wrestling but I am really not into it these days with the garbage product WWE is putting out.

The last time I went to a house show was 05 & I see your point. There were some great matches on the card, Booker T vs. Christian, Benoit vs. Orlando Jordan, Rey vs. Orton, & Batista vs. Eddie. Mexicools were there too cutting up. I remember Randy put a chair in the ring for Rey to stand in so they could be eye-to-eye lol. Awesome show!

Growing pains..... yeah WWE should really be building the next generation, not burying or caring less about them...
They have the guys who should be involved in the Main Event picture or title picture.... but they limit them all to often....

i agree with you, they should be creating the next big star, some superstars that you actually WANT to pay to see, i do believe that or some legends should return (jericho for example) do something interesting at house shows

Its hard to go to them now because about the only huge star you'll see is Cena. When I used to go to them you could see Austin, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, just to name a few, all at the same house show. I remember one there was a six man tag. I was in the front row on the faces corner of the ring. There was the Undertaker, Sid Vicious, and Diesel in that corner on the same team. You don't know big until you see those three guys standing together less than ten feet away from you.

Don't remember who they were going against. Owen, Bulldog and someone else I think. Most of they time they say the wrestlers are bigger than they really are but being that close to those three they are just as big if not bigger than they are announced as.

This I agree with! The E' has only 2 big stars in cena and orton. The fans are gradually turning on cena due to being stale and predictable and I can see it happening to orton sooner than later due to the same reason. When hbk retired I was sad like most of you but also concerned because he was really the only other big name they had. Triple h was around then too but we all knew he'd be winding down due to his new position behind the scenes. What other star do that have that's on that level? Hbk came back Monday to plug his hunting show and got a bigger pop than everyone else who is out there busting their asses day in and day out! And the reason is simple. He was built up and made into a legit superstar. Like cena. Like orton. They have to be pushing new guys and now! Ziggler, Morrison, swagger, hell even Evan Bourne is pretty over and guys like this need to be pushed and booked to look like mega stars! We need more top level superstars and fast. I know I'm saying everything that damn near everyone else is saying and I'm saying everything that the E' knows that they should be doing but I don't get why they don't just do it. Makes no sense.
Btw, after watching Bourne here lately I feel it's safe to say that he's probably one of the top talents in this or any company. Im sold on this guy. I think he's great

The last couple of house shows have been sunday or saturday afternoons then they do another show that night in another town, its a bit much to be dropping 40 bucks the see a two hour shows most of the matches are rushed cause there in a hurry to get to the next show. I remember the 80's and 90's house shows here drew 5 to 6 thousand ppl I doubt they get 1200 people now and for good reason. There is a smackdown house show coming to town in sept or something I doubt that I am going this time

Ive been to a few in the UK, they usually get all the bigger names over, Ive seen Taker, Triple H, HBK, Flair, Steamboat, Punk, Edge etc. TNA's house shows are much worse, even in the UK they tend not to bring the bigger names over except Angle and Joe and AJ.

i thought tna had a bigger fanbase in the uk since their ratings over there are huge but tna does the meet and greet which is cool

First of all, House have been like that for ages, even if you read the report during the Attitude era, it wa spretty much the same because in that way they can train or develop things for the tapings.
Seriously The guys care but also need t take care of theirselves in order to be in good shpe for the PPV.
I have been in house show in the US and Mexico and pretty much all of them follow the same formula with a few chages here and there.
I saw Austin VS The Undertaker plenty of times and pretty much all of them had the same result during 1998 and 1999, saw Benoit Vs HHH and all of them ending pretty much the same.
In Mexico the had pretty similar cards bur never the same card on every show, I have been pretty much one or two Houseshows on every tour they had had here and even when they repeat Mexico City most of the time Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday, the card changes a little between the two shows.
So to say they just don't care is just lame, the guys do care, that they pair them together pretty much every time is a different issue.
Just clarifying, creative might not care but the wrestlers do.

Last time I have been to WWE show when Austin and Rock was still wrestling and this is before Big Boss Man died. I went to a Smackdown show. Rock was out there 15 minutes after the show ended entertaining the fans. During commercials they had some of the best matches. That where I first seen Esse Rios before he joined the roster. Then I went a house show when they came by again, It was better then the Smackdown show. They had The Rock, Stone Cold, and Undertaker vs Kurt Angle, HHH, and I think Kane but don't remember as the headliner. Most memorable is Big Boss Man driving by me while standing in the parking lot.

Off topic but related to this post, I went to a Smackdown show last summer, and wasn't really impressed size wise with anyone, except for Jack Swagger, the camera does absolutely no justice to that guy's size, he is freaking huge. I expected Big Show and Kane to be 7 feet so that wasn't a surprise at all to see them be that tall.

But they didn't repeated Cities, I mean the last show was In Monterrey with a previous night in Mexico D. F. What you were following them? The cities are very apart form each other, I mean Hermosillo, Guadalajara, Mexico City and Monterrey are not really near from each other.
In Mexico City the haven't repeated 2 cards while in The City, that was what I meant.
And like I said, it has been the same story since a long time to get used to work together.
My point to you is, the wrestlers care, even if they are facing the same opponent, wy you people say they don't is beyond me, when they don't care, they either quit or just change line of business.
When someone cares he or she goes out there and even if the put a pile of shit infront of them and go out and perform.
what, you think that Zack Ryder loved to come down here to loose to someone who none here knows? Unless you followed on the internet, none knew who the Hell Percy Watson is. But no, Zack comes because is what he wants to do it, other wise he would have quitted long itme ago.
Same goes for pretty much everyone inthe crew, even the divas, you think Eve liked to be chrushed 4 times that week when she was at the time the poster face of the Division? No but she did it because she wanted too.
Those guys do care about their job, if their are given shit to work with is a diffrernt story, but they care.

yes, but even if its in different cities its like they did the same card in all the house shows in usa just because they are different cities
but i see your point, youre right i think wrestlers do care and its more a booking problem than wrestlers problem, superstars are in house shows and live events most of the year and i appreciate that

Last house show I went to was in Salt Lake City, UT, right before HBK retired, the main event was good, as were the rest of the matches. The crowd was small and kinda sucked, but even TV tapings in SLC suffer the same TBH
That main event was HBK, HHH and Cena against Batista, Orton and Shaemus
They delivered well, played up to the fans and everyone had a good time, afterwards the only complaints I heard were from people complaining that their favorite shirt was sold out

many main eventers always works, and playing up to the fans is win/win situation
