According to wrestlenewz.com, one person close to the situation notes that CM Punk mentioning Colt Cabana, Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar during his promo on Monday’s RAW has to do with all three of those stars possibly coming back to WWE.

Apparently Punk recently asked for his friend Colt Cabana to be re-hired and put on the main roster, as one of the points in Punk’s new deal if he should re-sign. Regarding Punk staying or going, WWE creative has been told that he’s finishing up at Money in the Bank and most feel that he is still leaving, despite Monday’s promo. WWE still does have an offer on the table to Punk for him to stay.

Heyman and Lesnar have reportedly either made a deal or are at least in very serious negotiations to have a business relationship with WWE. Regarding Lesnar, word is that he won’t be wrestling and won’t be a TV character, should he have a business relationship with WWE again. Heyman would start working with the company again under a deal similar to Lesnar, according to the report by the Wrestling Observer.

EDIT: If Heyman and Lesnar re-sign it would likely be to use their names and likelinesses in games, merchandise, action figures etc. I repeat they will NOT be returning as on air characters

that would be incredible, I would really like to see heyman back as a creative or even as a tv character (raw gm anyone??) I dont think lesnar will right now since his fights left in ufc and his current health issues.

I also think that what happened on monday was part of the new deal punk made with wwe and will stay

Colt Cabana and CM Punk vs Zack Ryder and John Cena, make it happen WWE

Brock Lesnar vs John Cena.

Heymen as head writer.

why not
could do wonders for the 'E

rather than throw money out the window on Snooki and other dead end shit
Colt would entertain
Heyman could write great storylines and take a few shots the team if need be
Lesner would attract main stream media

of course this won't happen
making this topic a bit irrelevant

but hey
i had fun ranting

I'd love to see Colt get another oppurtunity in WWE and would love to see Heyman return in some capacity. However,I don't really think Lesnar will return nor would I want him to.I don't think he can benefit WWE or himself by returning. Also,I really hope Punk dosen't leave WWE after delivering such an epic promo

ohh i see now, well with lesnar i do see it has some use, but with heyman, it would be a lot more worthy to have him on the creative staff or as on air character

yes, but having him sign that deal can make him do his Heyman Hustle and still collect a check from WWE, look at Nash he's sitting his lazy ass at home while Poppa Vince is shedding cash to keep him on the payroll

That could be very likely. Brock Lesnar might be creating a safety net in case his UFC career goes south. I hope that Paul Heyman takes over the creative team. He has a youth bug up his butt as well an he knows exactly what the fans want to see. 'Nuff said.

if colt cabana comes into wwe under the name, um ...colt cabana, then at least he can get away from being reminded by fans that he was previously scotty goldman because he's first stint with wwe was short and pretty much a joke. if he makes a big impact after re-debuting then its safe to say the majority of fans wont remember who scotty goldman really was.

while i think its great punk went to bat for his friend but punk probably wont have much say as to what wwe do with him so theres no gurantees he will be on tv as colt cabana if punk somehow got control of how they debut colt then this is a very shrewd move by punk a brock lesnar dvd would be good if lesnar cant appear on tv i do wonder what makes dvds so different because its still brock going yeah i was in wwe for about 2 years and then left after signing a 10 year battle was in a big legal dispute because he went and wrestled in japan, just the only difference is hes not on tv every monday infront 4million people on the USA network.

I only say that because if dvds are so different why dont they release a best of sting dvd and get sting to appear on the dvd without appearing on tv same princiable to me

not funny really , its more to do with the person itself than with the age, not so hard to understand.....

The only way that'll happen is if Dana White dies in a house fire with both his and Brock's copy of Brock's UFC contract in his possession.

Not true, he came close to signing with WWE for a match with Kurt Angle in 2002 for WrestleMania X8 and came close to signing for a match with Undertaker at WrestleMania earlier this year before backed out at the last minute.

What's there that Brock could offer off screen?

Future WWE DVD projects.

What's there that Brock could offer off screen?

All his WWE footage, merchandising stuff.

And even if Dana did have a say in that stuff, I don't think he'd be adverse to making an easy buck. There's a big difference in letting one of your top stars have a match where they could be potentially injured and letting him agree to a deal where a DVD of things he's already done is made.

This logic is completely flawed. And then what, after the younger guys are built up they shouldn't spend anytime on top and just immediately begin putting over the next generation?

** Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer reported yesterday that Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman have either made a deal or at least are in very serious negotiations to have a business relationship with WWE. In the case of Lesnar, it is not to wrestle, nor would he be a television character. Meltzer claims Heyman’s deal is similar to Lesnar’s.

Award-winning Canadian mixed martial arts journalist Ariel Helwani stated this afternoon on his Twitter account that Meltzer’s report is somewhat inaccurate.

He wrote, “Meltzer report on Heyman/Brock going 2 WWE, according 2 sources, is somewhat inaccurate. What is being discussed is a consumer product deal.”

**Former WWE star Colt Cabana was interviewed this week by the Miami Herald and had a lot to say about CM Punk's shoot promo from RAW. Colt says that Punk's rant was almost entirely reality-based and reflected the frustrations Punk has felt in WWE since his first days with the company.

“That whole thing has been building up forever,” Cabana said. “Personally, for almost forever, his whole time there, he is able to say this to me in the comfort of my house or his house.

“From being laughed at by the trainers in Ohio Valley Wrestling to Paul [Heyman] finally bringing him up and everybody treating him like dirt, telling him he has an attitude problem and calling him the ‘King of the Indies.’ Just looking down on him, he just felt shunned his whole time there. It was a complete struggle.”

Many are still under the impression that this angle is a storyline and that Punk will remain with WWE following his contract expiring the day after his title shot at Money In The Bank on 7/17, but Punk has been burnt out for a long time and is at the point where he just wants out.

“The power of him not really caring because he was ready to leave — I always said the power of not giving a s--- is so important,” Cabana said. “He is really at the point where he just wants to get out of there. It’s too frustrating for him. If he said anything that made anybody mad, what are they going to do to him? Not re-sign him? He doesn’t want to be there."

“So I think that idea is so powerful. He is so strong in his beliefs with the straight edge lifestyle. By being how strong headed that he is, he was able to have the power to go out on television and say what probably every other wrestler has wanted to say. He made unbelievable television. He made unbelievable history in wrestling."

Punk may be on his way out of WWE, but Colt thinks his promo from RAW has the potential to change entire industry:

“He almost has the ability to change professional wrestling as we know it. It has been so stagnant and vanilla. It kind of shook up the wrestling world because of his real life frustrations.”

Regarding the reports of Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman working with WWE in some capacity again soon, it’s said that it will be something of a mutual project with WWE on one side, Heyman-Lesnar on the other side and some sort of middle man or conduit between the two. As noted before, Heyman and Lesnar are not in talks to return to WWE TV or any kind of storylines.
