So this is my first post I believe but what I want to talk about is something I've been thinking I may be alone in this but when guys like Undertaker,Christian,Mysterio,Kane and all guys who have been in this business for like 10+ years are some fans going to start walking away seeing the guys they grew up gone I know there some die hard WWE fans but it questions me that some fans are going to start walking away when guys like I've said hang up there boots there going to stop watching wrestling.
What do you think?I know a lot of you are going to disagree but it's just a thought as for me I'll keep watching wrestling till the end of my days.

Edge just retired and I don't think the audience has shrunk.

I'm a big Christian fan, but as far as the other guys I won't really miss them that much.
The latest veteran wrestlers that could be getting close to retiring isn't as big a deal as when Austin and The Rock left back in the day IMO.

Edge is one man and I'm sure Edge fans didn't just watch WWE because of Edge they watched it for others like Christian,Taker,Kane and so on.I'm saying when a bunch of the veterans start hangin up there boots not just one.

For every older guy that stops watching a young kid starts watching, well basicly. For you and others the stars of 10 years ago are your childhood hero's and for today's generation Cena, Orton are their icons.

It's stupid to just quit watching Raw & SD just because your childhood wrestlers leave. Everyone has to leave eventually and you just have to move on. I mean yea I am sure some people will completely stop watching, that's a given, but I think a good majority of say like 90% or more will probably continue watching and maybe start favoring another current star, but never forget about their all time fav guy/girl know what I mean!

True true they were both big stars.

Ya defiantly cause I've been thinking this for a while since my friend told me how the ratings used to be so big back in the day and as guys stop and hanged there boots up and started not being as great as they used to the ratings went down and it defiantly made me think.

I think WWE is starting to realize that a handful of guys are nearing their time of retirement. I think that's why in my opinion have let Undertaker stay off TV. Also Kane, Big show, those guys are getting close as well. They are written off TV for now. Maybe to heal some nagging injuries, but still it's kinda like WWE is preparing the fans to see that no matter what WWE will survive without the likes of Kane, Big Show, and Undertaker.

to quote a very intelligent man....
"The reason I’m leaving is you people. Because after I’m gone, you’re still going to pour money into this company. I’m just a spoke on the wheel. The wheel is going to keep turning and I understand that." -CM Punk
That should kinda answer your question.

Absolutely man. And I think this is a good thing for WWE's future. New wrestlers will have their chance (KoW, Tyler Black). I honestly could care less if I never saw Kane, Rey Rey or Big show on tv again. I like Undertaker, but I think after next year's Maina he should be used in a backstage role.

This is the reason for the youth movement, when all these legends are gone who will fill the void in the main-event,
If WWE can get 4-5(at least) over enough to make them credible then they are doing good. Which has happened already
i.e Sheamus, Wade Barrett, A-Ry and nearly all of the NXT season 1 guys

Taker's basically gone already
Don't think anyone really cares much about Kane anymore
They can just make Epico wear a Rey Mysterio mask (see sin cara) problem solved
As much as I like Christian, WWE has rarely used him to his potential

christian has at least five more years or more left in his career, he's still fit and healthy, and will probably put over a lot of future wwe main eventers. as for undertaker, kane, and mysterio, well they should retire already and let the younger wrestlers have their moment in their spotlight. nothing will happen to the wwe, ratings didn't drop because childhood heroes went away, they dropped because it's expected, the wrestling industry has their ups and downs, the last wrestling boom was during the attitude era, then casual fans grew uninterested in wrestling, wwe monopolized the industry, people got tired of the product, and then tivo, youtube, and illegal streams came along. anyways, the wwe has managed to survive despite it's biggest stars leaving, they survived when hulk hogan, macho man randy savage, kevin nash, scott hall, and bret hart defected to wcw, they survived when stone cold retired and the rock left for hollywood. so yeah, wwe will be alright, specially right now with all this buzz about a new era and possibly a new wrestling boom coming.

Ask yourself this, is WWE the same as it was 20 years ago? Not at all, WWE and everything else in the world is always changing, and you just have to go where the flow takes you.
