Boys in green? Celtic? The famous hoops? Celtic have Irish roots, whereas Rangers are less fortunate.......

I was referring to the Irish national team, but yes I can see what you meant. I don't much notice of the SPL but I guess Celtic is a team close to all Irishmen's hearts.

Yes and no.

NFL is stupidly big in North America. (Mainly USA but everywhere watches it)

Everywhere else it isn't.

Whilst Rugby hasn't got that type of popularity in any country but does great over most countries (Hence why there World Cup is pretty big and NFLs is damn near non-existent)

So. It honestly depends on location and what you feel about both sports.

Rugby doesn't create as much money but has a lot of ability to become bigger whilst NFL can't get any bigger because no-one outside of there truly watches it (Excluding sport junkies such as myself)

Rugby is a more demanding sport.

No protection as well.

Sure NFL has bad injuries but Rugby has more fatal injuries (or possibility of the occurance)

Besides kickers just kick in NFL.

Kickers in rugby are still a vital member and stay on the pitch.

Not as strong but its there.

Ever since the 'Nucks lost to the Bruins i've wanted nothing more then to fuck them up and they did 6 months later.

10 hours later that's back but I just want City to win either the League Cup or the Premier League. It's not as bad as the 'Nucks 1 but this is going to be annoying.

Still. Better then having both the feelings.

Ginola suing Houllier over comments in new book as old France failure row resurfacesBy SPORTSMAIL REPORTER (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/search.html?s=&authornamef=Sportsmail+Reporter)

David Ginola is suing Gerard Houllier over allegedly offensive remarks made in a new book.

The former Newcastle and Spurs winger and the ex-Liverpool and Aston Villa boss have had a poisonous relationship since falling out over France's failed bid to reach the 1994 World Cup - and the spat appears to have reared its ugly head once again.

The book, Coaches' Secrets, is written by journalists David Riolo and Christoph Paillet and was published in France on 20 October.
Its editor, Florian Sanchez, has confirmed to the BBC that Ginola is taking action for fresh comments made by Houllier about the former's performance on the night France's qualification hopes ended, in a 2-1 defeat to Bulgaria in Paris in November 1993.

France only needed a draw to reach USA '94 and were level going into the last few minutes. But Bulgaria scored a dramatic winner through Emil Kostadinov and Houllier, then manager of Les Bleus, blamed Ginola for failing to hold onto the ball and allowing the opposition to score.

And, according to Sanchez, Houllier has again commented on Ginola's performance in the fateful game, and also made reference to Ginola's role in a split in the then French squad between players from Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain, for whom Ginola was playing at the time.

A spokesman for Ginola said: 'David is absolutely incensed. Houllier should stop talking like this. Stop singling David out.'

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/11/15/article-2061873-0C582C8C00000578-379_468x368.jpgHealth problems: Gerard Houllier left his job at Aston Villa last season

Ginola's representatives added: 'To use those words, and to have them in a book that is meant to sell and to sell heavily, this was a very heavy quote.'
The court case is due to start on December 12 in Toulon.

Sanchez said: 'For legal reasons I cannot comment on the case.' But he did add: 'Two years ago, Houllier criticised Ginola on French television. David showed him the yellow card then, and warned him not to continue. Now he is showing him the red.'
Houllier, now 64, was manager of France between 1992-3. He was forced to step down from his role as Aston Villa manager last season due to health concerns.

Ginola, who was capped for France 17 times, went on to play for Aston Villa and Everton in the Premier League and was named English football's player of the year in 1999 while at Spurs.

The former midfielder wrote in his autobiography on the subject of France's defeat to Bulgaria: 'Houllier blamed me for "murdering" France's bid to qualify for the 1994 World Cup finals.
'My "crime" was to over-hit a cross aimed for Eric Cantona during our last qualifying match against Bulgaria in Paris.'

After the defeat in 1993, Houllier, who was forced to resign, said: 'The adventure is over all too soon. With only 30 seconds remaining we were there but we got stabbed in the back and at the worst possible time.
'The referee still had his whistle to his mouth when Ginola won that free-kick near the corner flag, but then he goes and sends in a huge 60-metre cross instead of hanging on to the ball. That allowed Bulgaria to go and hit us on the counter.'

But the 1 story of the weekend I can't get over,Paul Scholes is back!Maybe when they play Liverpool,Riy Keane can come back,it's not like Henderson would give Roy Keane a workout.

Warnock is a good manager, so it's a shame.

Espanyol played well, but I still don't like Inter.

And it's not an immense surprise, he's been training with the reserves ever since he retired, he said he wanted to return about 3 weeks ago, and Fergie said sure, you just can't register players until January.

I can't understand why you would fire Warnock for mark Hughes??? Thats not exactly a massive jump up in class, like PSG have going from Kombouare to Ancelotti.Mark Hughes? He won a Carling Cup back in the day,but I don't think he's any better.maybe he can be bossed around easier than Warnock by Tony Fernandez.

Even in the backwaters of the Europa League, it seems, Liverpool can't escape reminders of the gulf that has opened up between them and the Premier League elite.
On a night of crushing dejection, they were sent crashing out of the semi final by Atletico Madrid in extra time, with a goal crafted by a former Arsenal player, and finished emphatically by an ex-Manchester United one, in a game that ultimately summed up the Reds' indifferent campaign.
10 things we learned from Liverpool 2-1 Atletico Madrid (http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/opinion/blogs/mirror-football-blog/No-Fernando-Torres-no-trophy-Yossi-Bennayouan-is-no-Rory-Delap-and-Mark-Viduka-will-do-anything-to-watch-a-free-game-of-football-10-things-we-learned-from-Liverpool-2-1-Atletico-Madrid-by-Dan-Silver-article409901.html)
It was the cruellest of knock-out blows at the end of a bitterly disappointing term, as Diego Forlan of all people - a striker deemed not good enough for Old Trafford - added the final ignominy to a season that has been a singular failure.

http://i.w55c.net/m.gif?id=8bb138bc0446417c9a4df9a0136d0caf8a9332859 2bf4d059bfc856c256fbc33&ei=APPNEXUS&euid=7195193377624405435&cver=1
Just for good measure, it was Arsenal reject Jose Antonio Reyes who provided the cross, on 103 minutes from which Forlan scored, to put his side through to a meeting in the final with Fulham on the away goal rule.
How cruel the fates are, to emphasise how far the Reds have fallen behind the other members of the elite Premier League "big four" this season, and with Chelsea awaiting to potentially offer the final nail to their Champions' League hopes this weekend, it is a stark picture indeed.
And yet there had seemed so much hope for Liverpool on a passionate European night at Anfield, where their fans believed even if they didn't, as Alberto Aquilani had given his side a first half lead to put his side level in the tie, and then, with a sickening tension gripping the game as it entered the extra period, Yossi Benayoun seemed to have put them into the final with a second on 94 minutes.
It has been one of those seasons for Liverpool though, and somehow, you knew the game had another cruel twist in keeping with their frustrating campaign - the sight of a single crippled magpie stranded on the turf unable to fly offering a portentous clue to the sorrow to come.
This morning, with this defeat fresh in the mind, questions must be asked about failure in a competition that Fulham's heroic performance in reaching the final has put into context. Realistically, Liverpool really should be dominating the Europa League, and second rate opponents like Atletico Madrid.
In particular, they should ask why their manager chose the eve of the game to express his discontent about apparently not being loved and admired enough by his employers. It was ill-timed, and it ill-served Liverpool.
Perhaps this performance was a clue to why Rafa Benitez hasn't received, of late, the backing he needs so much, because when it came to it, his team were once again lacking something, their failure to create a clear chance after Atletico scored showing up the missing ingredient in their make-up.
It was a game that summed up this dreadful season, the few highlights, and the many, many depressing moments. And perhaps it was to be expected that Forlan proved the eventual villain.
His time with United was disastrous, save for one glorious afternoon when he scored twice here to be forever remembered amongst the Old Trafford faithful as the man who "made the Scousers cry". Well, this morning, they will be coming down by the bucket load.
The fatal moment came after 103 minutes of a tense contest, and the fatal error came from Glen Johnson, who was too easily out-muscled by Reyes, who crossed brilliantly for Forlan to finish with sheer class.
What was so disappointing was that Liverpool simply failed to respond to that setback, and created nothing... their lack of spirit telling. Yet before that, they had done enough to reach the final.
Aquilani belied a terrible season as a £20million flop by finding the perfect finish to the perfect Yossi Benayoun cross just before the end of the first half, with a first time shot that nestled into the bottom corner.
The whole of the second half was terse to the point of stomach-churning as both sides created nothing, but Liverpool roused themselves four minutes into extra time, with another brilliant goal, as Lucas found a quality pass to put Benayoun clear, to finish again with distinction.
Now, there is only the faint hope of the Champions' League, but with the tiredness they showed last night, Chelsea will present a formidable hurdle to the Reds on Sunday, and it seems the inquests on a season that has not been good

Maybe for that tie,Eric Cantona can come out of retirement.......But on a serious note, there's the issue of Evra getting abused by Liverpool fans.......they should consider playing this game behind closed doors,as crap as that sounds,to prevent any incedents.

I dont think thats needed man! with the bad news around liverpool latley hopefully the fans behave! im sure Evra will get booed tho!

I'd just like to point out that if that had indoor sports.
NHL would be around 8th.

Although it majorly depends on who gets through and the furthest into the play-offs

Rogers Arena only holds around 20k whilst other hold more so Canucks technically bring the average down.

BUT they still be the Serie A!

Poor JJ.

This is pissing me off...

I wanna go watch City play this season (and actually fucking see the new stadium. Yeah I know we left Maine Road ages ago, it is a horrible stat I carry that i'm not proud of)

So I ask my Newcastle friend. (City face Toonited 2nd last game of the season on the 5th May)

"Wanna see Newcastle vs City at your stadium. I'll even not laugh at you whilst we play each other"

"Hmm maybe pal. We'll see what happens" = "Ha! No fuck off, I don't go to games Newcastle aren't favourites to win."

"We can go to the QPR match though!" (Newcastle vs QPR. That happens in a while.)

"Naa. That's not appealing whatsoever... else I would've asked you to City vs QPR on the last day of the season."

So I try to influence our other good buds in if they're up for this match and then letting our pal show us Newcastle.

NOPE.avi. 1 doesn't like football enough to go without alcohol and the other said he'd go to the showing around Newcastle but not the football match.

(BEST BUDZ EVA!)

I ask my girlfriend. Shes doing uni exams else she would. Can't blame her, she has a good reason but still no result for Vanny-poo.

I ask my United friends. I literally throw in i'll go to Old Trafford and watch them play any team they want (Yeah, that's how much I want to see City play. I'll go watch our biggest rivals play if it just lets me see Citeh!)

They're either busy or don't want too.

I ask my mother. Working and can't really afford to take time off work either.

All good reasons (excluding friends) but now leave me with either going by myself or not going at all.

I'm not confident enough to go around Manchester by myself either :(

I have more chance of seeing Vancouver Canucks play in Canada then Manchester City! :'(

You're not the only one Van! I've been attempting to round up troops to see a Liverpool game for years. I hate that I've never been to Anfield, I've considered going on my own but I'm like you there Van, I don't think I could go on my own. Also tickets are so hard to come by these days, it always says to buy a a ticket for this game you had to attend another previously.

I will try and get tickets to the Everton v Liverpool game in February. It's at Goodison but my best mate is an Everton fan (I know strange haha) And he has family so I'll try and wangle it.

Your best bet is to get All Red Membership. I had this and it allows you to buy tickets early! Even for the 'A' Tier games, where you have to have games on your card for the previous season, you still get to buy tickets earlier after the first round of sales! I did this in the past, when I started going to Anfield again and I managed to get tickets v Everton and ManU! I even managed to get a seat on the Kop v ManU!

No. Because it lacks depth.

Why do you think players, like Yohann Cabaye, traded champions league football with Lille to play for Newcastle?

Or why we have so many foreign players?

Or why Ronaldo sees it as a better league? (Hint: IT'S EASIER TO SCORE, LESS ROUGH)

And why do you think we back it? Not because we are English, but because others think it's the best league.

I think La Liga isn't even second, that honour goes to the Bundesliga. Want to know why?

Because you never know what will happen. La Liga is too predictable.

I'll back poor Dzeko's corner!

He lost form because you stopped playing him! He was in top, top Edin form, exactly what he was like at Wolfsburg, then you stuck Balotelli in for ages, and he lost confidence.

The only reason Mancini picks people over other people is because he picks the players who showed the best form in first team training.

It's true that he also stopped picking him as much which didn't help his form but he's still not looked like the guy who destroyed Spurs.

Because he's a confidence guy.

You stop playing him when on top form, what's gonna go through his head? "Oh, am I not playing well enough? Am I not trying hard enough? Thought I was in good form?"

Hence why his displays look like he's trying too hard.

He isn't a bit part player, which he will always be at City.

You could argue this is every City player though.

Whenever we drop points we have idiots post "WHY DIDN'T AGUERO PLAAAAAAY" "WHY DIDN'T BALLOTELLI PLAAAAAAAY!!!!" "wHY DIDN'T SAVIC PLAY!!!!".

Best example is Adam Johnson. He doesn't start most matches and Mancini is harsh with his play time but its to try and motivate him further.

Exactly.

Johnson is a great player, but doesn't need consistent games, hence why he is a bit part player.

Dzeko does suit the City way of spreading the play a lot and keeping the game wide and stretched.

If I have ever wanted to piss on the English FA, UEFA and FIFA. Now is the time.

I'll inb4 this.

Those 4 matches without Kompany will cost us either the League Cup or the Premier League.

Sure we have replacements like Savic. But it is hardly the same. Were going to have to score quite a few goals to stop this from fucking us up.

It seemed harsh because Nani jumped over him! two footed of the ground, you can do that anymore mate we both know it! It's the type of tackle were either side would appeal if it was them!

Yeah Lescott and Savic doesn't sound like the best partnership, Although Richards may play! I hope Kolarov has a shocker like he did against Utd.

They got plenty of strength though, they should be fine, I say they should just give up on the league cup! :p

Still never a red though! Same as Spearing against Fulham!

Wouldn't you prefer an Inter win? Give Juve some breathing space over AC! Hopefully Seedorf scores, one of my favourite players. Would of been good if one signed Tevez in time to play and he scored because they've both been after him could of caused an uproar! :p

I reckon Inter could make a late surge for the title.Realistically,I reckon come May,due to a much stronger and versatile squad,AC Milan will win the league.

Tevez must go to a team in southern Italy(thats the trashy part) and be like Edinson Cavani.Everytime he scores those white trash southerners go absolutely crazy.

But I reckon Inter suits him better(Milan don't need him),plus I'm sure Zanetti will talk some sense into him, plus he won't be disrespectful at a big club like Inter.Lets face it Man City is only a money club.

Fair play to Inter they've turned around a terrible start! I think AC will win it too even though I'd prefere Juve. (Del Piero was one of my favourite players for years, that's why Juve were my favourite Italian team)

I don't care for Tevez anyway, I just want him to leave the Prem! Zanetti will keep him in line, just give him a backhander every time he steps out of line :p

I don't think AC need him either, although Cassano is out but Ibra, Pato, Robinho and even Inzaghi are a great set of forwards!

Inter have a few but only Pazzini and maybe Zarate are worth my time.
