Chris Jericho is/was my favorite wrestler since ECW. As a kid, I liked his moves & his promos, but when I got older in his WCW run, I learned the art of it all & liked him even more. He was misused in WCW, as were alot of guys, but when he came to WWE, it seemed like VKM & creative were big on him. He became the 1st ever undisputed champion, beating Rock/SCSA in the same night & he was popular. His promos w/ Steph, Angle, SCSA ( calling him a whore), & several others were gr8 & promos w/ & against Rocky were all GOLD, plus his moveset was gr8. It could be argued that, back then there were alot of talented ppl, both ring & mic techs, so he got lost in the shuffle. My guess is HHH had something to do with it. (NOW, HEAR ME OUT!) No doubt, Y2J was destined for gr8ness, & today he's voted by the wrestlers at 25 on the 50 best superstars dvd? Guys from his day are 1 2 3 & 5 on that list. HHH doesn't like Jericho. I asked Y2J at Raw last year, "if HHH had something to do with you being so big, then only being upper midcard?" He replied saying, "It's quiet possible." Anyone who doesn't believe I asked him, why don't you ask him on twitter, if he'll answer a question like that in public.I know you guys weren't there, but he did tell me that & I could tell, he was serious. I talk down on HHH alot b/c of things like this. He's a gr8 worker, but his politics are well known. When Y2J returned on 11/19/2007, I read that HHH was bad mouthing him to the wrestlers in the back. I know HHH had feuds w/ Y2J,but he never really put him over. He won the belt from him, & beats Y2J 99% of the time. The Larry King WM show a few yrs ago, w/ Y2J, Cena, VKM, HHH & Show. Larry asked HHH: "If given a match w/ Chris for 20 mins, you two would go out there & wrestle & you'd defeat Chris?" & Y2J jumped in & said: "That's usually how it goes too." I know Y2J, HHH, & VKM laughed, but I think there was something behind that. Going from feuding w/ The Rock & SCSA & being 1st ever undisputed Champ. I KNOW HE'S A MULTI TIME WORLD CHAMP & 9 XS I.C. CHAMP, but he's not that celebrated. Y2J should be # 3 or 5 to ppl & his peers. He never got injured or did drugs to be held back.

THIS IS NOT A BASH HHH THREAD.

I'm also a pretty big Jericho fan myself, however the top 50 list has been debated by a lot of people (including SCSA) so I don't really take it seriously. As for HHH he hasn't put a lot of people over in the past.

Thanks Turtle, but it's not only about him being 25 on the top 50 list. It's the fact that he got over BIG, but never stayed as BIG, when all the others seem to have stayed big. Angle's in TNA now, & he was moved to ECW before he left, but that was to help the show. He was also Champion again before he left. Angle left b/c neck problems & whining from certain wrestlers, but if he'd still be there, he'd still be a Big player, just as HHH, Rock, SCSA, Taker & etc. are. Think about this. Y2J never really carried the company by himself. It went from Rock/SCSA to Brock/Angle to HHH/Cena to Cena/RKO. For yrs, he was a glorified mid carder. I LOVE Y2J, BUT IT'S TRUE, & IT'S B.S.

Made me mad that Cena was before him on the list.

I am a Jericho fan but the list is very controversial to say the least, there will always be guys who don't agree on the list but I guess if you know who's the best to you it wouldn't matter, I'm jus sayin...

I agree with this, it's no biggie if you know who you like best.

It's not about the top 50 superstars list. I only mentioned that in the bigger picture, b/c I find that Jericho has lost alot of his big name recognition. He was a huge main eventer, then a high mid carder for yrs, who gets the title once in a blue moon, & only for a short time. People like Punk who is carrying his own heavy buzz right now is among the top names & draws right now, & he is about the same level as Y2J. I see Punk being big for a long time. But, to me, Jericho seems like he slipped through the cracks, & as gr8 as he is, I'm wondering why?

I don't think he's being forgotten, it's like Y2J said he has the ability to come back and be on the same level as when he left, he's that big of a legend. I think he's just waiting for the right time and the right gimmick.

@Mr. Turtle Thanks mate, I'm jus sayin...

The thing we all have to remember is this was (1) list made by (1) person for the most part. The list is more than likely purely opinionated. This reflects only the opinion of the given individual that made the list. If it was indeed made by more than 1 person then it's simply the opinions of a select few individuals. Everyone is going to feel differently, and everyone is gonna say he should be higher or lower or what not, but again it's all based on opinion. Do I think he should be higher? Yes of course because I like Jericho, but I bet if you were to ask someone who doesn't like him, they would say he deserved to be ranked lower than 25. It's all opinion so I personally wouldn't, and don't, read too much into these type of opinionated lists.

Now if they were to do a rankings based on the opinions of all the past and present wwe and sd superstars then that might be a list I would pay attention to since it comes from the people that comprise the company, and is much more honest and while still technically opinionated it's still more about truth than opinion imo.
