Really good blog. I totally agree with the stuff about Wade Barrett and Tyson Kidd.

    Congrats on the degree.

Let's agree to disagree. I don't care if you agree or not, you're second to last comment is completeley unnecessary. Because you choose to express yourself that way, I conclude you're an asshole and I'm not very inclined to reason with you - but still, I live to help the ignorant masses, so I'll reply.

To me, in the current setup, the WHC is what the Intercontinental Championship was when WWE/WWF had one heavyweight championship belt. Do you claim that Del Rio, Swagger and Ziggler are carrying the company at the moment?

The workers they are, the age they are - Ambrose & Reigns 27, Rollins 26 - I can't see them not get to that point.

A Freebird-reference is a honour, so they should be glad you give it. If you don't see a DX/NWO-parallel in the mentality and attitude, you should go see an optician. You're 'established workers' argument is valid, I'll give you that.

How can you guys say these guys are all going to be world or wwe champs? Look at the framework they are working in? There is nothing that says any of these guys are going to do anything. Not one of them has completed a singles match in their time here with out some sort of interference. Its been 6 months with these guys. Ambrose can go, I will not argue that fact, but slow down man.

I also don't agree with the comparisons to DX and the NWO, but The Freebirds comparison is fair. DX and the NWO took established guys with long track records and put them into a group that could impact storylines at all levels. The Freebirds were a team and worked with a team concept. If the Shield is kept on this path, they will be in a great position down the road but right now they are, at best, ready for a run in the tag team division as the top team. None of those guys are ready for anything more at the present time. Their impact will not be felt at the top level because none of then could legitimately wear the title right now and carry the company. If you disagree with that, honestly, you don't know anything about wrestling. These guys are years away from being main eventers.

Good blog man. I really like where you went with this because I have had the same thoughts about a lot of guys on the roster, but these 3 or 4 stars you talked about are hot topics with smarks all over the internet so I'm glad you picked them.

I agree with so much of what you said about Barrett. He is where he should be right now, but I also think that is because we do not know if he can move past where he is. This guy has held the IC title two times now in recent months including through the last part of Mania season and he has exactly zero feuds over it. He has been a stepping stone for the main eventers throughout the past few months and nothing more. They have teased storylines with Sheamus and Bo Dallas, but nothing has pushed on to tv to make me think he is ready for anything more than where he is now.

The Kidd thing, to me, is smarks following the lead of stars like CM Punk saying Kidd deserves a chance. He is a fine in ring wrestler, but he doesn't bring anything more to the table right now. He isn't going to be able to work a program that will get fans excited. But again, we don't know if he is capable because anytime you see him he is being buried.

The Sheild on the other hand... I have a big problem with the Sheild. The next time I read or hear someone compare Dean Ambrose to Terry Funk I may turn the tv off. These three guys work well within the framework they have now, but there is no evidence that they will succeed outside of it. I think the three man group concept is being used to protect their flaws. They are purposely keeping Reigns from talking because he needs more work. Rollins is that guy on the playground you want to hit because he just builds on what the cool kids say. He is the Chris Bosh of the WWE. He's alright but he gets more love than he should because he is with two guys who are better. Ambrose can hold his own. He has enough in ring experience from working elsewhere that they trust him wrestling with the major stars, but again, it is all in the framework of a 3 man group. Of the three, one of them will catch on as a star. Just not sure who that one will be.

Colter actually called Ziggler "blondie", not AJ. I'm enjoying your recaps though, keep 'em coming.

    First, congratulations on school
I totally agree with Fandango. I believe it was all just. 'Right place, right time' thing and had more to do with the crowds boredom of Orton/Sheamus than any love for Fandango. I got a small kick out of Curtis on Santino's web show, but never saw much in him as a wrestler.
Barrett is an interesting subject. I don't think he should have won a WHC or anything yet, but I would rather see him as a legitimate challenge to the likes of Sheamus, Orton and others than as an IC champ.
I like Kidd, but partly because of Canadian bias and the fact he came out of the Dungeon. I thought they rushed the break-up of the Hart Legacy as didn't see Kidd as a singles star. I see his career revolving around tag teams. Perhaps one day challenging for the IC. But unfortunately that will likely be his cap.
Now the popular topic of the Shield. I do watch (and love) NXT, so had the chance to watch these guys before the Shield formation. You could see the potential back when they use to fight over the FCW championship. I hope they don't split up anytime soon as why rush things. I think that's what ruined Barrett and cause people to wonder why he hasn't had a WHC run yet. Just going on their WWE careers thus far, I personally enjoy Ambrose in and out of the ring. His feud with Regal reminded me of Foley. Watching Rollins on NXT made me think of Jeff Hardy or CM Punk in how he could be very popular if pushed that way. And we all know Reigns has that 'look' of being a WWE star. I think on 5 years they'll be feuding over the WWE title much like they use to the FCW and look forward to those matches.
So that is my 2 cents. Great blog. You are right in that everyone has their own perception on things and it's nice to see someone else look at things more logically than just 'I like this guy so he should be pushed'
