The twelve man tag to kick off the show was a great way to start things off. It was fast paced and didn't drag on like some of the other standard tag team matches we've seen recently.
Tagmatches in TNA are always entertaining than those in WWE...
If I'm in Punk's place, even I might have done the same...WWE should put Punk in the main event...Punk deserves it..I guess Punk would have not gone if someone like DB is in main event. But, his only problem is with these part timers getting main event spot...Moreover, Batista is not The Rock to bring in tons of money and I don't see it as a great move...Clearly fans were rooting for Reigns more than Batista...

The second big problem with your argument is that you assume the WWE was doing Punk some kind of favor by billing him as a top guy. Lol that's not how that works. The WWE paid CM Punk to do a service, and that service in turn makes the WWE a fuck ton of money. CM Punk would be the top guy in any promotion in the world, not just WWE.
Problem is, WWE is the only place that matters as far as wrestling goes. That doesn't mean however that wrestlers should "kiss the feet" of the WWE just because they have a monopoly on wrestling. If everyone did that, then guys like CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose, etc would never see the light of day. WWE would just shove the same guys down our throats because there's no initiative on the part of the performers. Guys like CM Punk are the only reason a lot of us watch, and if you cut out those with initiative to not just eat all of WWE's shit, then I know I'll stop watching altogether, because as much as I actually do like John Cena, Randy Orton, and Sheamus, I don't watch because of them. I know people like me are in the minority on that, and that's why those guys have those spots, but it's not such a minority that our viewership doesn't matter. It's a solid chunk of their audience, and our viewership would be missed.
tldr: The WWE didn't make CM Punk a star, CM Punk made Cm Punk a star via WWE programming. Punk owes WWE nothing, and for a guy like Punk, principles hold a lot more meaning than money. Without people like that, this business will fail miserably.
We need cena/Orton/Sheamus as much as we need Punk/DB/Dolphy..we need all of them for variety...
Very good points, Wombat. I think it can be summarized as follows. The WWE is an entertainment company, not a wrestling company. They care about profits, mainstream media attention, the value of their stock, social media, movies, non-wrestling TV shows, their new network, etc. The larger they make the company, the better the profits, and the more mainstream media attention they get. However, bigger does not mean better. Quite the opposite, really. The mainstream media loves John Cena in a way they could never love Daniel Bryan or CM Punk. It's his physical look and entertaining charm, not his wrestling ability, that sells with non-wrestling fans. Since there are not enough wrestling fans in the world to make the company grow beyond a certain point, we are no longer the demographic Vince is after. He's after entertainment fans. So the wrestling product will continue to deteriorate, while the entertainment product gets bigger and bigger. Wrestling purists (the IWC) hate this. But that's the way it is, and it will never change back. Ever. Learn to like it, and you can still enjoy WWE to a degree. However, if you want professional wrestling to be the way it used to be, don't watch WWE. You'll just continue to be disappointed.

I agree with the Great One on each of his points. No way the Undertaker loses at Wrestlemania, ever. No way Cena turns heel, at least not for many more years. Very poor booking.
To begin-the fans erupted for DB at WM 28 BEFORE he was screwed and lost in seconds. The smart fans had already picked him as one of their guys. Then it continued to build no matter what HHH and Vince made him do.
Now-switch gears-WWE is always saying they keep matches short and feuds short because we fans are monkeys with no attention span.
Then there is this group like you who somehow think their master plan to to keep the belt off DB till WM 35 because it is a great story? Are you all related to HHH or Vince? Because guess what-they are just idiots. They were not planning on some big payoff. With your logic Cena should have never won a world title till WM 25 and Punk maybe could win it for the 1st time this year.
They waited 16 months to even give DB a legit title shot after he got red hot. Then they screwed him and the fans over, and over, and over again. There was no logic at all in DB not keeping the belt after that feud ended for at least a few months.
Then-all reports said DB was headed to be in a throw away match with Shemus at WM 30, and Dave getting the main event to promote a movie-and report were correct.
No-it is stupid, stupid BS. You put your top guys in the biggest WM in 5 years.
No one can deny Punk and DB clearly get the biggest reactions.
It defies logic that they are not the last match at WM.
You can join Chicago Cubs fans and wait around for things-kids who watch and adults who care are not waiting for 5 years-this assuming DB is still wrestling and can-he could be out tomorrow with a serious injury the way he wrestles.
There is no excuse for the guys who wrestle all year and are the most over to not get the rewards.
Cena, Dave, Randy, HHH, Taker all have main evented WM. Taker not enough really-but still-they all have.
Punk and DB never have-this is clearly their time. Reward them-stop punishing the fans-and have the best WM main event in years if not ever.
How hard is it to understand?
