Today there was an article on this very website that recapped an interview with former WWE Tough Enough winner, Daniel Puder. One of the topics Puder discussed during the course of this interview was the incident between himself and Kurt Angle during a Tough Enough segment on an episode of Smackdown back in 2004.

Now Puder seems to be getting a lot a flack for what is said, which includes calling Angle a "wimp" and a lot of that criticism is that he took advantage of the situation by shooting on Kurt when he wasn't expecting it, but the problem with that criticism is it just isn't true because it was an unscripted environment and Kurt Angle knew exactly what he was doing; what he was doing was trying to be a big shot because he was a master Olympic wrestler and knew he could embarrass these guys while looking tough at the same time.

I don't necessarily agree with Kurt Angle being a "wimp", but there is no question he was being a bully in that situation by legitimately beating the crap out of Chris Nawrocki, the first contestant that got to face Angle, and in fact he broke some of the poor guy's ribs before making him tap out to a "neck crank". I understand that in the wrestling business all guys who are just starting almost always go through something like that so they can make sure you're tough enough (clever of me eh?) but in front of thousands of people and on national television was neither the time nor the place.

Angle even had the audacity to laugh about it while acting like some sort of tough guy for beating up a man with virtually no fighting experience before asking all the other contestants if they wanted to step in the ring with him, which is when Daniel Puder accepted.

Puder ended up getting Angle in a Kimura Lock and he couldn't tap for obvious reasons, so the referees counted Puder's shoulders down even though they weren't.

The simple fact is that Kurt Angle was seconds away from suffering a broken arm and was a victim of that old saying, "What goes around come around."

In conclusion I would like to say that I am not giving Daniel Puder a free pass on his involvement because he wasn't squeaky clean either as this wasn't an MMA fight and he should have known better than to try and brake the arm of one of the biggest stars in the company no matter how much of a bully he was being or even though he might have deserved, though he did technically follow the rules as the only thing banned were strikes.

The bottom line is Kurt Angle should have acted more professionally and Daniel Puder should have just been the bigger man.

I have probably left a few names off, but I think I did a pretty good job and I hope you can appreciate me choosing a lot of older wrestlers who would help legitimize the WWE Hall Of Fame.

Lou Thesz

When all was said and done, Lou Thesz had six NWA World Title runs during a time when the belt wasn't passed around like a hot potato, in fact he held the Championship a combined ten years, three months, and nine days.

Thesz was the glue that held the NWA together and was the original reason it was as successful as it was.

He is also credited with being the innovator of a number of wrestling maneuvers such as the original powerbomb, STF, belly to back waistlock suplex (known today as the German suplex due to its association with Karl Gotch), and the Lou Thesz press all of which are still used today.

Pat O'Connor

He is regarded as one of the premier workers of his era.

He also held the AWA World Heavyweight Championship and NWA World Heavyweight Championship simultaneously, the latter of which he held for two years.

Edouard Carpentier

Carpentier was one of the first wrestlers to regularly use acrobatic maneuvers such as the Rope-aided twisting hurricanrana and because of this was always a fan favorite.

He also headlined Madison Square Garden three during his career and was matched against numerous heels, the most well known of whom was the legendary Killer Kowalski

"Macho Man" Randy Savage

Savage was arguably as big of a star as Hulk Hogan during the "Rock N' Wrestling" era of the eighties in the WWE.

He was one of the most charismatic wrestlers in the history of the business and easily stood out from the rest of the pack.

Savage was also one of the best inside the ring and had one of the greatest matches of all time against Ricky Steamboat at Wrestlemania III.

Ed "Strangler" Lewis

Lewis led a wrestling renaissance after the attendance doldrums of World War 1.

Along with Billy Sandow and Toots Mondt, Lewis held a virtual hammerlock on wrestling during the decade, with practically every name wrestler under contract.

After retirement, he worked with Leroy McGuirk and trained Danny Hodge and Dick Hutton for the ring. Lou Thesz credits Lewis with polishing his style in the ring.

Bruno Sammartino

The first big star of what today is known as the WWE and without him there wouldn't have been a WWWF, WWF, WWE, or Vince McMahon, Jr.

He had great in-ring psychology and could make even the most callous fans feel for him.

Bob Backlund

The man practically held the the WWE championship for six years straight and even though he had some problems giving it up when the time came, he was still one of the all time great in the the ring and deserves a HOF induction.

Davey Boy Smith (British Bulldog)

He is one of the most physically impressive wrestlers in history and held every major title in the WWE except the WWE Championship, while also main eventing many PPV events in both WCW and WWE.

Smith also possessed uncanny athleticism for a man as muscular as he was.

Karl Gotch

In Japan, Gotch was known as the "God of Pro Wrestling" due to his influence in Japanese wrestling.

He also invented the Cradle Piledriver.

Jim Londos

He was the premier wrestling attraction of the dirty thirties and the first wrestler to attract large numbers of women to the arenas.

He was a credible worker, but his best attributes were his good looks and amazing physique.

Toots Mondt

He revolutionized wrestling in the 1920s by moving away from the slow-moving mat wrestling that was losing the interest of fans and instead combined features of a boxing ring, Greco-Roman, freestyle wrestling, and the old-time lumber-camp style of fighting.

He is one of the founders of the WWWF and was the one who wanted to build the company around Bruno Sammartino, while Vince McMahon Sr on the other hand thought Sammartino would be a mid-carder at best.

Some of the stars Mondt helped create from the 1920s through the 1960s include Jim Londos, Antonio Rocca, and the aforementioned Bruno Sammartino.

AJ Backstage Segment

I thought that this little segment helped put over that AJ really is a "crazy chick." I'm also loving the fact that a Diva is part of one of the top storylines in WWE, in fact she might even be the best part.

Triple-Threat Elimination Match

Interesting match to start Raw and I'm most certainly not going to complain about it because watching Daniel Bryan, Kane, and CM Punk in the ring is always a treat and this time was no different as they had a phenomenal match.

The elimination concept worked really well here because CM Punk looked strong since he pinned Kane, and also set up another WWE Championship Match between Bryan and Punk.

It looks like Kane's time in this feud is over since he is now in the WWE Title Money In Bank Match and I for one thoroughly enjoyed his involvement.

Backstage Segment

Both Alberto Del Rio and Dolph Ziggler wanted to face Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Championship, so Vickie Guerrero booked them in a... Wait for it... Contract on a pole match in which the said contract gives them a title shot.

My god, is Vince Russo back?

Brodus Clay vs. Big Show

This match was very short and in the end Big Show was left standing tall as he exploited Brodus Clay's already injured knee.

I'm liking how things are going with Brodus right now because his feud with Big Show is getting a slow build to it and to me that is a good thing as you don't get that much in WWE anymore.

My guess is that Clay is going to finally take care of Daivid Otunga in the coming weeks and than cost Big Show the Money In the Bank Match next month eventually leading to a match between the two at Summerslam where Big Show puts him over clean.

United Championship Match

Extremely random match for the US Title between Santino and Jack Swagger that didn't accomplish anything other than use up some air time.

It also looks like Swagger is going to be embarking on a losing streak storyline that guys like MVP have previously enjoyed because the announcers were really pushing that he hasn't won a lot lately.

John Cena's Historic Announcement

Well its officially folks, John Cena's next straight to DVD movie is going to be a remake of the Teletubbies!

All joking aside, I think its pretty cool that hes going to be in the Money In The Bank Match this year and I also loved the interaction between him and a returning Chris Jericho, who will also be the match.

I just hope that more people are added to the match because I think the MITB match works better with at least 6 participents.

Heath Slater vs. Phyco Sid

Nice nostalgic moment here. Not really much else to say here.

Contract On A Pole Match

This was actually a pretty good match here that really showed off Dolph Ziggler's athleticism. I also felt that this is what it would be like if Ziggler were a Babyface and I liked, in fact I've decided to write a blog about it.

The way it was announced that Ziggler and Alberto Del Rio are both going to face Sheamus for the World Title on Smackdown was a little awkward for me, but either way I'm looking forward to it because I think the match is going to be stupendous.

Chris Jericho vs. John Cena

Jericho and Cena have always had chemistry together, and this match exemplified it as they had a nice little match here.

I didn't mind Big Show coming out and decimating Cena, though I also wouldn't have minded an appearance by Kane, but that can happen next week.

Closing Thoughts

Overall, I thought Raw was just okay tonight because I feel that some of the matches should have gotten more time.

Raw Rating: 3.5/5

Opening Segment

I thought that this was a good start to Smackdown. I'm actually starting to like the Big Show as Heel because he seems to finally be showing some passion for what he does and his Promos have been fairly solid. Show just needs to start cendencing his Promos because he takes too much time to get his point across.

Brodus Clay is also finally gaining my interest because hes finally showed some fire over the last few weeks and I'm loving that he finally has an actual feud; in fact hes basically feuding with two people in Big Show and David Otunga.

Speaking of Otunga, its great that he also has a legitimate feud now and tonight he was great, especially when he mocked Clay's dance.

On a side note, I really hope WWE isn't setting up Big Show to win a Money In The Bank Briefcase because he doesn't need it.

Ryback vs. Jared Walker and Frank Valencia

I am probably one of the few who have enjoyed watching Ryback annihilate jobber after jobber, but even I'm starting to get sick of it and am ready to see how he would do in a 10-15 minute match against some that is actually a member of the WWE roster.

Personally, I would like to see Ryback feud with Tensai seeing as neither have nothing going on right now. It would also be an amazing feat to see if Ryback could get Tensai up on his shoulders for the Suplex type maneuver he does, which would also help get him more over with the audience.

Christian vs. Alberto Del Rio

These two most certainly have some chemistry together because they had a Pay-Per-View quality match on Smackdown.

I liked Alberto Del Rio getting the fairly clean victory here over someone who actually means something, but I was still perturbed as to why WWE would job out their Intercontinental Champion, though Christian did look strong in defeat as the match was back and forth with many near-falls for both men and he was distracted a little by Ricardo Rodriguez at the end.

I'm happy that Cody Rhodes and Christian are going to continue feuding over the IC Title as Rhodes viciously attacked Christian's already injured arm after the match and screamed at him "You're stealing my time, I am Smackdown."

I also have my figures cross that Rhodes and Christian's next match is a Ladder Match at Money In The Bank.

Kane vs. Daniel Bryan

A really good video package documenting the whole AJ, Kane, CM Punk, and Daniel Bryan saga was shown before the match. AJ also made her way out as the "Special Guest" Time Keeper for the match.

Daniel Bryan and Kane worked very well together tonight and were allotted enough time to pace the match nicely.

AJ continued to tease where her allegiance is as she rang the ring bell while Kane was in the Crossface even though he had not tapped out. AJ feigning innocence acted as though it was just a mistake and the match continued much to the dismay of Daniel Bryan who thought he had won. Bryan eventually lost due to a chokeslam and AJ just nonchalantly skipped away as if nothing had happened leaving Kane looking confused.

I hope that I'm not the only one still enjoying this story after all these weeks because it keeps me looking forward to what happens next.

Heath Slater vs. Zack Ryder

I'm finding Heath Slater hilarious on the mic over the past few weeks, but this match got super short and was a waste of time.

The only reason this happened was so Mick Foley could appear in front of the live crowd.

Prime Time Players vs. The Usos

Pretty good match between two Tag-Teams that actually look and act like one.

The only problem I had was that the match didn't get enough time, though I loved the brawl between Primo & Epic and the Prime Time Players/AW backstage after the match. I'm still hoping that those two teams have a match at Money In The Bank where there is a clear winner and that it isn't just wasted on a Raw or Smackdown.

Santino Marella Segment

HUMONGOUS waste of time. This never should have happened and the time that was wasted here could have been added to the Tag-Team match.

Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler and Sheamus had a match that was totally different than their previous ones and in my opinion, this match was better than the one they had at No Way Out.

I also loved the finish because it would have come out of nowhere if it weren't for the fact that this was a TV match.

I'm assuming that next week, WWE will start setting up for Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio to finally have their one on one World Heavyweight Championship match at Money In The Bank, which is something I'm going to try and stay positive about.

Closing Thoughts

I found Smackdown really enjoyable tonight because of three awesome matches that actually got a solid amount of time and a strong opening segment.

Smackdown Rating: 4/5

A lot of wrestling fans have been clamoring for Cody Rhodes to win one of the Money In The Bank Briefcases next month when a Pay-Per-View of the same name takes place.

They want this because being the owner of said Briefcase all but guarantees you are going to win a World Championship very soon, but my reply would be, whats the rush?

Cody Rhodes is going to turn twenty-seven on June Thirtieth and still has a ton of time to continue to mature both in the in the ring and on the microphone. I'm not saying Rhodes isn't good in the ring or on the mic, I am saying that he still has room to improve, which is insane because he is already extremely good and I can't wait to see how good hes going to be.

Lets not forget that over the past number of years WWE has had trouble with their patience as they have pushed numerous wrestlers to the top too fast, with Allberto Del Rio being a recent example. Del Rio is a guy that in his first year and a half on the main roster of the WWE won the 2011 Royal Rumble, 2011 Raw MITB, and WWE Championship twice. That is a very impressive resume and yet Del Rio was and still isn't over with the majority of the fans because he was shoved down their throats repeatedly.

Cody Rhodes is definitely not the same as Alberto Del Rio, but he has only found his niche in the WWE over the past year and I don't want to see the same thing that happened to Del Rio happen to him.

WWE and the fans in this case just need to show a little patience.

Lastly, the Mid-Card needs Cody Rhodes to be its face. It needs him to be there over the next few years to win and lose Intercontinental Championships and bring the best out of guys like Seth Rollins, Richy Steamboat, and Mike Dalton who are just making their way up to main roster, so that they can become the faces of the division and Rhodes can eventually ascend to the Main-Event.

Patience is an art WWE has lost and is something that needs to be found and used in the case of Cody Rhodes. It is also something fans need to find as well because its better in the long run.

So I will ask again, whats the rush?

For me its always nice to see Mrs. Foley's baby boy and it was interesting to find out from him that former General Managers will be hosting Raw and Smackdown each week over the next little while, with Foley himself doing so this week.

As for the stuff with John Laurinaitis; I am so past him and am extremly disapointed that he mainevented Raw along with John Cena, Big Show, and David Otunga once again.

Sheamus & CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan & Kane

I thought Sheamus was a really random partner for CM Punk, but moving past that this was actually a very good Tag-Team match.

AJ coming out in the middle of the match dressed as Kane was pure gold and kept Daniel Bryan along with Kane looking strong because CM Punk and Sheamus used the distraction to win.

Other then that, no storylines were advanced or started here, but WWE can begin to on Smackdown and besides I enjoyed this.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Jack Swagger

I feel like we are back to square one with Dolph Ziggler because hes already done the "lover" angle with Vickie Guerrero and he doesn't need ANYONE as his manger. Ziggler is just simply ready to be on his own, while Jack Swagger actually needs Vickie.

As for the match itself, it was way too short and to be honest I am incredibly sick of short TV matches like this.

I did like that Ziggler was put over by being able to survive the ankle lock for an extended amount of time and than win.

Paul Heyman & Triple H Segment

I didn't like the shot Triple H took at Paul Heyman about Raw not being in a Bingo Hall and I was surprised Heyman didn't have most of the New York crowd on his side, but other than that I love how this feud is progressing.

And by the way, Paul Heyman has most certainly not lost a step as he can still talk circles around the entire WWE roster and is really adding a lot of good to the Brock Lesnar/HHH rivalry.

Santino Marella vs. Alberto Del Rio

I've seen so many Alberto Del Rio squash matches exactly like this and in fact many of them have been with Santino Marella, so I was totally uninterested and not entertained by this.

Cyndi Lauper Segment

No matter how much Micheal Cole apologizes for how terrible this segment was, it will never be enough. Never...

Prime Time Players vs. Primo & Epico

I am thoroughly enjoying the fact that the Tag-Team Division finally has an actually storyline and not just two teams randomly going at it for the Titles.

I think AW is a perfect fit for Darren Young and Titus O'Neil. I can only hope that this leads to a match at Money In The Bank between these two teams and from there hopefully R-Truth will be all healed up from his broken foot so he and Kofi Kingston can start building for a Tag-Team Championship match against the Prime Time Players at Summerslam.

The only problem is that once again, a TV match was just too short.

John Cena vs. Big Show, David Otunga, & John Laurinaitis

Storyline wise this match doesn't make any sense because now that John Laurinaitis is fired, any decisions he made before that should be null and void.

Even if I get past that, this was still horrible because watching John Cena beat up out of shape non-wrestlers just isn't very entertaining to me especially for the third time in the past month and a half.

I did find it hilarious when the crowd was chanting "You can't wrestle" while David Otunga and Cena were wrestling each other because I found it to be an apt description of the two.

I'm also assuming that unfortunately Big Show will continue feuding with with Cena next week.

Closing Thoughts

Raw started off hot tonight but quickly fizzled out because of a couple of bad storylines and short matches that weren't given enough time.

Raw Rating: 6/10
World Heavyweight Championship Match

Dolph Ziggler proved in this match that he has the ability to be in a World Title match where he and the champion are the focus.

This match had a big time feel to it and rightfully so because it was great. Sheamus and Ziggler were both on top of their game and have actually developed some solid chemistry together.

I also liked that Dolph Ziggler had the majority of the crowd on his side, though it was funny when they were chanting "lets going Ziggler!" and Jerry Lawler said something along the lines of "listen to this crowd, chanting 'lets go Sheamus'.

Intercontinental Championship Match

This was an absolutely phenomenal match! Cody Rhodes and Christian had a very fast paced wrestling clinic that had counter after counter and multiple false-finishes. That DDT Christan hit on Rhodes on the floor was also beautifully done.

Best of all for the first time in a long time, it felt like the IC Title actually meant something.

Hopefully WWE keeps this up and also continues this Rhodes and Christian feud because my mouth waters at the idea of these two going at it in a Ladder Match for the IC Title.

Fatal Four-Way Tag Team Match

This was an impromptu Fatal Four-Way Tag Team Match where the winners would become the Number One Contenders for the Tag Team Championships.

The teams involved were The Usos, Prime Time Players, Epico & Primo, and Justin Gabriel & Tyson Kidd.

All I can say is that I am extremely glad this match happened because it featured some awesome in-ring action and showed what WWE has been missing the past number of years as far as Tag Team Wrestling goes.

I also loved the added wrinkle of AW turning Epico & Primo and siding with the Prime Time Players.

Divas Championship Match

The only thing I have to say about this is why in the heck is WWE not using Kharma when the people obviously want her as evidenced by a WWE crowd once again chanting "we want Kharma!".

Sin Cara vs. Hunico

I thought this was a pretty good match. I liked that it felt like an actual match and not just a showcase of Sin Cara's moves.

The lights during Sin Cara's matches do seriously have to go in my opinion, but other than that I think Cara has finally adjusted to the WWE.

Triple-Threat WWE Championship Match

I thought that the IC title match was going to be the best bout of the night until this match.

CM Punk, Kane, and Daniel Bryan all clicked in this Triple-Threat match and the added intrigue of AJ and her actions earlier in the night and in the weeks prior added some much needed suspense and unpredictability.

Obviously this whole thing isn't over given how CM Punk retained his Title and I for one am looking forward to what happens next.

Steel Cage Match

I will admit that John Cena and The Big Show had a better match than I expected them to have, but this still should not have been the Main Event without the WWE Championship.

I will say that I hope this at least means that John Laurinaitis will be off my television screen contrary to what WWE advertisements might say and that we will finally have a General Manager that can actually put a sentence together without tripping over their words and doesn't take up an hour of TV time each week.

Closing Thoughts

I thought that No Way Out was surprisingly good because of some solid wrestling matches.

No Way Out Rating: 8/10

Based on the announced matches and Triple H's segment, I am going to show you what order I would put them in from the important opening-match to the coveted main-event.

Match One: Intercontinental Championship Match
Christian (c) vs. Cody Rhodes

Match Two: Divas Championship Match
Layla (c) vs. Beth Phoenix

Match Three: World Heavyweight Championship Match
Sheamus (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler

Triple H Addresses Brock Lesnar

Match Four: Steel Cage Match
John Cena vs. The Big Show

Match Five: Non-Title Tuxedo Match
Santino Marella vs. Ricardo Rodriguez

Match Six: Triple Threat WWE Championship Match
CM Punk (c) vs. Kane vs. Daniel Bryan

I understand that its pretty much a fact that Cena vs. Big Show is going to go on last, but this is how I would order the matches and segment.

Let me know if you like or dislike this order.

X Division Title Match

This was a three way Ultimate X Match that saw Austin Aries defending his title against Zema Ion and Chris Sabin. Sounds good on paper right? Well surprisingly and unfortunately that didn't translate into real life success because this match was an absolute mess.

Some of that COULD be attributed to an apparent injury suffered by Sabin, but even before and after that the match was sloppy, the timing was off, and at times it looked like all three men had no idea what they were going to do next.

Zema Ion especially looked lost throughout the match and at one point was on the top rope for a considerable amount of time doing absolutely nothing, but again Sabin's injury probably had a lot to do with that.

Austin Aries & Hulk Hogan Segment

I liked this segment because Hogan really put Austin Aries over and also because it looks like Aries is getting the next World Title shot at Destination X as long as he relinquishes the X Division title by next weeks Impact.

The only thing I'm unhappy about is the state of the X Division because its in shambles right now and is going to be pretty much dead once Austin Aries is gone.

TV Championship Match

Seeing Hernandez dive over the top rope is always awesome and this time he did it while Devon was still making his entrance. Unfortunately that was the only thing I liked about this match.

I find Devon extremely boring in the ring as a singles wrestler and this time was no different as he and Hernandez just didn't click.

I'm also confused as to what is going on with Hernandez because at Slammiversary he worked as a Babyface, but tonight on Impact he worked as a Heel.

12-Man Gauntlet Battle Royal

The opening match in this years Bound For Glory Series is a Gauntlet Battle Royal featuring Eleven out of the Twelve participants, which Includes AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, RVD, Magnus, Bully Ray, Kurt Angle, unfortunately Robbie E, Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe, a returning D'Angelo Dinero, and of course the eventual winner of the the Battle Royal James Storm.

All in all this was a great match and an awesome way to start the BFGS. I just hope everyone is ready for a predictable next couple months of TNA because its obvious that they're setting up James Storm to win the tournament and for Bobby Roode to keep the World Title all the way to BFG so he and Storm can have their rematch.

I'm not complaining about that though because that is what I want to happen and to me I don't think there is any other way to go.

World Heavyweight Championship Match

I don't think anyone was expecting anything else other than Bobby Roode retaining his Championship against Mr. Anderson, but the two wrestlers still had a good World Title match.

I really liked that Bobby Roode won the match cleanly and by submission none the less. It makes Roode look like a legitimate champion and also draws some heat in a different way because most people hate someone who is arrogant and a jerk, but can back it up.

Sting Segment

I'm not going to lie, I want to complain about this going on last, but alas I won't.

This was short and I need to see where this is going before I decide if it was also sweet. I'm not sure what to make of the masked men, but two out of the three looked to not be in very good shape and the third didn't look very good ether.

There are reports that TNA may be starting an invasion storyline with the Mexican Wrestling Promotion Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) but it remains to be seen if this was the start of it.

Its worth noting for those of you who don't know that AAA and TNA have had a working relationship for years. Jeff Jarret is also currently working there.

Closing Thoughts

To be honest, I don't think Impact was very good tonight other than the Battle Royal, World Title Match, and tentatively the masked men attacking Sting.

Impact Rating: 2.5/5
