I have read this statement over and over again...a garbage statement from the IWC that really bothers me. "The Rock winning the WWE title would ruin the prestige of the championship." I have read that statement over and over in multiple different ways. And all I can think is, the IWC has really forgotten the superstars, and specifically The Rock that made the WWE title prestigious in the first place.

From Hulk Hogan to Macho Man Randy Savage, from Bret Hart to Shawn Michaels and from Stone Cold Steve Austin to The Rock...all these men had left their mark on the WWE title and made it center of the WWE Universe. Now, I won't go and argue which era was better or anything like that. I certainly won't take anything away from the champions pre attitude era. However to drive the point home on the title of my blog, They Earned it! Guy's like Stone Cold, Mick Foley, Undertaker, Shawn Michaels and The Rock ushered in the Attitude Era...more importantly during that era each of these men paid their dues and worked hard to make WWE the dominate force in sports entertainment. The Rock Earned it! Being one of the men that made sure guys like John Cena, Randy Orton and especially CM Punk still had a WWE to work for and win the prestigious WWE title. Lets face it, we all know the history of the Monday Night Wars and the Attidude Era. So I am not gonna go over all those details, we all know The Rock, Dwayne Johnson was there for all of it and became a huge reason we tuned in every week to watch Raw and Smackdown. I mean seriously, one of WWE weekly shows is named after his damn word that he invented. And one last thing that may not mean much to the IWC...but Vince Mcmahon himself said the WWE is The Rocks "toy box" and he can come and go as he pleases.

How much proof do you need to realize that The Rock winning a title he helped keep relevant would never tarnish the title itself. Especially if the IWC's only complaint as far as I can see is that Dwayne is not a full time superstar. It certainly was John Cena's only gripe during their fued. Congrats IWC, your all regurgatating Cena's complaint. Oh I almost forgot, another complaint is that it takes away from the talent that is currently on the roster. Yeah, try again...seriously, if anyone on the roster earned the right to hold the title, they would be challenging for it. Don't get me wrong, I love a lot of the guys on the roster and I know eventually some of them will earn the title. But thats just it, they still have to earn it. They are all doing what The Rock already did, paying their dues. I will even go as far as to say there are one or two guys who have already earned it. But as many of you like to point out, they are "full time" so they will get their shot.

All in all, if anyone who earned the respect and spot that the has earned came back and won the title I wouldn't have any problem with it. Stone Cold, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker and Mick Foley among some others could do this and I wouldn't flinch. In fact, between superstars like Edge and Trish Stratus have left with the title around their waste. So its actually my wish that The Rock gets this really rare occurance where he wins the WWE title and retains at WrestleMania. Just my sidenote here, I think it would be great if The Rock did that, turned heel last second leaving with the title and having occasional promos via satellite about how he still has the title. The story could go similar to CM Punks when he left only it could last longer. In the meantime, they could come up with a different looking WWE title which everyone has been screaming for and when The Rock makes another comeback, it could be another WWE champ vs WWE champ where The Rock could put over whoever had earned it by then.

So here is your chance, let me know what you think. Honestly how could anyone believe that The Rock could take away from the prestige of the WWE title when there are so many story lines that can come from him winning and putting over talent. And if you think he hasnt put over talent or put the company first...see Brock Lesnar or Goldberg during both times Dwayne Johnson left to establish his movie career.

Ok, I havent done a single blog in months...in fact its been so long I really cant remember the last one I did and yet in the span of an hour I am about to do my second blog haha!

However it should be no surprise that I am a Rock fan. I will even accept being called a Rock mark...I dont care, everyone is a mark for their favorite wrestlers or superstars or whatever you wanna call them. And as a Rock fan I have decided to compile a top ten list of the Great Ones greatest matches. Because no matter if you like the Rock or hate the Rock or even love the Rock there is no denying his talent and that he has had some of the most memorable matches in wrestling history. So here goes and I am open to all opinions...even the haters lol.

10. The Rock vs Chris Benoit (Fully Loaded 2000) WWE Championship
Chris Benoit may have become a dirty word in wrestling but you cant take away from the fact the man could go and at Fully Loaded both the Rock and Benoit put on a great match. It was classic from the stand point that Chris with all his technical skils really put up a huge challenge and suplexed the Rock all over the place and The Rock resonded in kind. Add to that all the antics Shane Mcmahon did at ringside to help the Wolverine and it was entertaining from start to finish. If you have the means I suggest you watch this match, it really is a forgotten classic.

9. The Rock vs Kurt Angle (No Way Out 2001) WWE Championship
I miss Kurt in WWE...this match was a back and forth awesome encounter. It was the Rocks chance to avenge his loss to Kurt Angle as Angel was the man who took the WWE title away from the Brahma Bull just 5 months prior. And these two were just always on fire when they got in the ring together. At steak was not only the WWE title but also the chance to headline WrestleMania 17 and both men let it all out as if they were headlining WrestleMania that night. From suplexes to ddt's and even cheating attempts from both men, this was simply awesome. It made me wish for more matches from these two.

8. Stone Cold vs The Rock (WrestleMania 17) WWE Championship No DQ
I know most would put this match higher in a countdown as this match was pure magic from the word go...I mean literally nearly every move and tactic was used in this match. It really is one of my favorites...from sharpshooters to million dollar dreams to superplexes and neck breakers and ring bells to chairs...this match was back and forth it was nearly flawless. The only thing that ruined this for me and puts it down the count in my opinion is the fact Mr. Mcmahon got involved at the end. He just didnt belong there and I just think it was a mistake for Austin and Mcmahon to align. But I digress. Still a classic.

7. The Rock vs Triple H vs Kurt Angle (SummerSlam 2000) WWE Championship Triple Threat
If there was ever a match that proved how great both Rock and Triple H are it was this match. A accident with the table as Kurt was being pedigreed knock Kurt for a loop and took him out of the match for most of it. As the story goes everyone but Rock and Trips were panicking but those two took a bad situation and turned into a great match as Rock and Triple H just did there thing and do what they always do...tell a great story in the ring. And to Kurts credit he would return and help finish off a stellar match.

6. Triple H vs The Rock (Judgement Day 2000) WWE Championship Iron Man Match
When ever these two got together it was pure gold. By this point they had nearly every match you could think of together...from 2 out 3 falls to cages to ladder matches, they did all. There was only one match left to do...Iron Man match and they did not dissapoint. For one hour they kept you glued to the screen. Unlike the Shawn Michaels vs Bret Hart match which had no falls throughout the entire match, Rock and Trips went back and forth as Rock would score the first fall and Triple H would retaliate and eventually take the lead. It is hard enough to keep the attention of a fan nowadays with 10 minute matches but the fact Rock and Triple H kept your attention for 60 straight minutes is a testament to both their talents.

5. The Rock vs Kurt Angle vs The Undertaker (Vengence 2002) WWE Championship Triple Threat
In my opinion a flawless triple threat that had it all...All men were firing on all cyclinders. It was just epic as every competetor stole one anothers finishers...from the Rock giving UT a chocke slam to UT giving Kurt the Angle Slam to The Rock applying the Ankle lock on Kurt to Kurt giving The Rock the Rock bottom the match was insane. It was back and forth and non stop. And just when you thought you knew who was gonna win, you were dead wrong. No wasted motion in this match.

4. The Rock vs Mankind (Royal Rumble 99) WWE Championship I Quit Match
Perhaps only second to Mick Foleys Hell in the Cell match with Undertaker, I would have to say this is the most brutal match that I have ever seen. This match showed The Rock to be a legit threat as he massacred Mankind with chair shot after chair shot while Mankind had his hands cuffed. From start to finish you couldnt look away though as you felt chills go down your spine watching every grueling thing these men did to each other. A must see but you will cringe at the absolute brutality.

3. The Rock vs Triple H (SummerSlam 98) WWE Intercontinental Ladder Match.
This was the match where as a fan you couldnt help yourself....after months of chanting "Rocky Sucks" this was where you started chanting "Rocky" "Rocky"...Triple H and The Rock would do what they do best and put on an unforgettable match. Where ladder matches were usually more ariel thanks to stellar performances from Shawn Michaels, The Rock and Triple H had to adapt and made the ladder match a brawl and a fight to the finish. They found new ways to use the ladder and with both men having help from Mark Henry (nation member at the time for the Rock) and Chyna (DX member for Hunter) it was an even match where you didnt know who was gonna win.

2. The Rock vs Hulk Hogan (WrestleMania 18) Icon vs Icon
Make no mistake, this was by no means a technical classic...in fact you knew from the start it wasnt going to be. But my God the amount of passion and emotion that the fans had for this match just added to what WWE is all about and that is classic moments. And you will never be able to take away from this "iconic" moment as wrestlings past met wrestlings future. You just have to watch this match to realize just how special this was.

1. The Rock vs Stone Cold Steve Austin (WrestleMania 19)
I know many will disagree with me on this and that is fine...I know I am being biased as I was actually in attendance at this WM and saw it with my own eyes. But I still argue its greatness as this match with the Brahma Bull and the Rattlesnake was a perfect ending to a feud that was without a doubt one of the greatest of all time. This match was also different from any other they ever had...no gimmics, no titles and no exscuses as there was no interference and a definitive clear winner. You just have to watch this match to see that these two just had it when they were in the ring together...pure magic. And the end of this match just shows the emotion of two men who knew their time was up in different repects. And by the time it was all said and done it just felt like there would never be anyone better than The Rock and Stone Cold as they are just in a league all their own.

I hope you enjoyed the list and I look forward to hearing your thoughts...

Honorable mentions:
Triple H vs The Rock (In your House) 2 out of 3 falls for the IC title
The Rock vs Mankind (Valentines Day Massacre) Last Man Standing Match
Team WWE (The Rock, Y2J, Big Show, Kane, Undertaker) vs Team Alliance (Shane O Mac, RVD, Booker T, Stone Cold, Kurt Angle) (Survivor Series 2001) Winner Take All Elimination Match
Any World Title Match The Rock had with Y2J, just a great feud.

There have been many WWE Superstars throughout the years that many of us believe should have been WWE or now for the past 9 years World Champion. Mr. Perfect, Ravishing Rick Rude and Million Dollar Man Teb Dibiasi come to mind right off the bat. Certainly Jake the Snake Roberts and Ricky the Dragon Steamboat should have worn the WWE Championship.

However I will talking about talent that most will disagree with. I saw someone put up a blog that had a list of superstars that deserved title reigns but never got their shot. While the list proved to be speculative he had no reasons to back up his choices. I will give you reasons why I feel these men should have been champion.

1. Matt Hardy: Title should have won would be WWE Championship and Intercontinental title.
WHY: Matt was a worker and a talented one. He was someone that lived the buisness and deserved his moment to shine. His V1 persona was hilarious and it is around this time while he was wearing the cruiserweight title that I felt he should have been wearing the Intercontinental title instead. He was a great heal and a great wrestler and had an entertaining feud with Rey Mysterio. Also throughout his career he had great matches with the likes of Chris Beniot and Eddie Guerrero that seemed to go overlooked. But still Matt had the heel heat to make people want to see him lose but yet had the talent to be successful. Also in my opinon during a time when JBL seem to come out of nowhere and win the WWE title I think Matt would have been a better choice and could have continued to hit his V2 era.
Its my opinion but Matt like Kane did should have been rewarded for his time and work in a buisness he devoted himself to.

2. Owen Hart: Should have won the WWE Championship
WHY: Simply put he was great! His talent in the ring was often overlooked. He had it all...technical wrestling, high flying, charisma, brawling and mic skills. For a guy with so much talent it seemed a shame that he never really was used right. And his tragic death makes it all the more dissapointing that he never held the title.

Those are my picks for the most deserving of WWE championship runs.

With WrestleMania coming around I wanted to take the time to go through a list of dream matches we will definitely and problably never see. To me these are the matches that should have been main events or title matches.

1. The Rock vs Shawn Michaels: Iron Man match for the WWE Championship.
With out a doubt 2 of the greates of all time. Can you imagine the match these men could have had or the rivalry that would follow. Both had incredible Iron Man matches and the way they could go there would be no telling how amazing this match would have been.

2. Bret Hart vs Kurt Angle: 2 out of 3 Falls match for the World Heavyweight Title.
In my opinion this would have been an instant classic. The Excellence of Execution vs the Wrestling Machine. Pure gold by anyones standards.

3. Randy Orton vs Macho Man Randy Savage
This would be for pure bragging rights...but the ring psychology these two possess would have made this match so intense and a great story feud to watch.

4. John Cena vs Hulk Hogan
The faces of the their respected pg eras would go down as a pure who can get the 5 moves of doom first. lol Honestly it could prove to be a disaster. But everyone would be glued to watch this.

5. Brock Lesnar vs The Undertaker: Last Man Standing Match
Yes we have seen these two go at it before but with The Undertakers streak on the line and the master of the F5 going at it at WrestleMania...this could spell greatest match of all time.

6. Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Sting
Just a personal favorite of mine that I think would be great for a WrestleMania match.

Ok...thats all I got. Let me know what you think.

In the 80's there was no bigger draw or star in wrestling than Hulk Hogan. He was a real life super hero and he never seemed to lose. He beat heal after heal and had long lasting title runs that you dont see anymore. But than after a few years something went wrong...Hulk Hogan was a real life super hero who never got beat. He had the same moves and spouted the same rhetoric and his matches always ended fairly the same. Any of this sound familiar? If it sounds like John Cena now, than you may see where I am going with this.

Everyone is talking about Cena and The Rock (or for you haters out there who seem so intent on forgetting what he has done for wrestling, Dwayne). Should Cena lose or win? Should Cena turn heel or just change his character a bit? I have my own opinions of WrestleMania 28 and just because I think The Rock has earned it, should win the match. It wont hurt Cena in any way and its literally what 90% of the fans want. But that isnt what this blog is about.

Cena is in the same predicament that Hogan faced in the 90's. Everyone was tired of the same old thing every time Hogan came out. Same wrestling moves and same speeches and no one ever seemed to beat him. Yet Hogan finally did the one thing that made him interesting again. He told the fans to kiss his ass and formed the NWO. This heel turn was so unexpected and so welcomed that the fans embraced it completely. It was such a success that WCW started kicking WWE's teeth in, in the ratings.

The surprising thing is that WWE knows this and yet they refuse to do anything about this. They could turn Cena heel and make him interesting again. This would open up so many opportunities for other stars to rise and for new story lines to form. WWE knows the formula to use and because they know how WCW screwed it up they can actually improve the formula for success and Cena is the key. John Cena is today's Hulk Hogan and there is no denying it. Its time to fix the problem.

Rivalries...where did they go?

This is gonna be a tough subject to hit upon since its true that rivalries do still exist, however they feel so lack luster nowadays that I feel like...

This is gonna be a tough subject to hit upon since its true that rivalries do still exist, however they feel so lack luster nowadays that I feel like we really dont have any real rivalries to speak of and Im gonna do my best to hit the point as best as I can with a few examples from past years. Ok here goes...

Remember Triple H vs The Rock? If your a long time wrestling fan and were around for the attitude era on forwards...you better remember it. Cause in my humble opinion, it was one of the top 5 rivalries of all time. These two guys had so many matches together that its impossible to count, yet they always put on a good match if not a great match. From their feuds over the Intercontinental Championship to their battles over the WWE title. These two were great to watch and you couldnt wait for the next match. No matter if it was a 2 out of 3 falls match, ladder match or Iron Man match, Rock and Trips didnt dissappoint.

However today, we dont have that...we dont have build ups and multiple matches with the two same guys that can carry us for months at a time. Again I know this is gonna be a hard point to drive home since we have had a few rivalries over the past few years...Edge vs Cena, Batista vs Undertaker and Triple H vs Orton. But is it just me or does that feeling of a really great feud seem to be missing though? Today we have matches that last 3 minutes if that and gimmick matches have been set for ppv themes, ie...Hell in a Cell and TLC. And it also seems that matches come and go so randomly that one week we have Shaemus vs Kofi, then next week Shaemus vs Evan Bourne for no real reason at all except to have a match to fill a time slot.

Im not totally discouraged by what we have today by any means....it wasnt that long ago we had a series of entertaining matches featuring Cena and Orton from their Hell in the Cell to the Iron Man match they had which was good. And we have potential for great rivalries now...Orton vs Punk could be classic if done right. I hope these guys give us more matches for a few more months. However it just seems to me that the feuds today go so quickly and the build up and matches so short that we dont really have any opportunity to see what two guys in the ring can do and it was evident that the WWE doesnt seemed concerned about this as they were quick to dump Shaemus vs Bryan quickly.

I dont know, you tell me what you think of todays rivalries and matches and tell me if you think Im just not seeing it. Or do you agree with me that the concept of a feud is not as evident as it used to be?

Did We As Fans Get Spoiled?

I look at many of our comments and blogs and how negative they are or how much we all feel like things need to be better or improve. We complain...

I look at many of our comments and blogs and how negative they are or how much we all feel like things need to be better or improve. We complain about current stars and reflect on old times and wish why things couldnt be the way they used to be. Are things that bad in wresting? Should some things be changed and improved? Or did we as fans simply get spoiled somewhere along the way?

Take The Rock for example...Ive heard and read it all; many are so happy to have him back but then there are those who are upset he left at all and just wish he would go back to Hollywood. The spoiled kids in us wish he never left and say he betrayed us in some way. However we know this is far from the truth. If Rock had stayed around what might have happened? We could be sitting here complaining in similar fashion the way we complained about Triple H or Undertaker. That he has been around for too long and should be helping putting over young talent. Even worse we could be complaining the way we complained about Hogan back in the 90's before he went all NWO. The truth is we just became spoiled kids...instead of appreciating that he is back for however long, we complain and throw tantrums.

The same could be said about the champions they pick now a days...The Miz, Shamus and Swagger who were all champions this past year and we just couldnt take it. We bitched and moaned and said what about someone else. How happy were those of you when Cena or Edge were champion? You wanted a change and got it but because you didnt like the change you cried anyways.

Lets face facts though...the attitude era spoiled us more than we realized. We had talented superstars that made us go this is the way wrestling should be. But when those stars started to leave for various reasons, for injury, retirement or movie stardom and the attitude era faded we were left with something less than what we were used to...PG. Now we have Cena and he is constantly forced down our throats with no one else to take his place. Orton and Punk are shadows of what the attitude era was and the midcard talent just seems to stutter step as they push and drop the stars like nothing.

Dont get me wrong though...things could improve all around as far as story lines and rivalries go in the WWE. The IC and US championships need to be seen as more important. The mid card matches should last longer than an average 3 minutes. And perhaps more consideration in who they push and make champion. We just need to see that they care more so that we care more. But overall, we just need to be less spoiled and more patient about things. Eventually even Cena will be gone and we will be looking at how different things have changed again. But will we be bitching about how Cena is better than whoever takes his place or will we be grateful that things did change? Do you think the wrestling fan has become a spoiled brat of himself or are we justified in the bitching that we partake in?

Ending the Streak!

The Undertakers streak at WrestleMania is more than legendary its mythical in proportion and no one will ever be able to repeat it or duplicate it....

The Undertakers streak at WrestleMania is more than legendary its mythical in proportion and no one will ever be able to repeat it or duplicate it. Cena was on his way to doing it but thankfully Randy Orton ended his winning ways at WrestleMania 24. But as WrestleMania approaches and Triple H will have his second opportunity to end the streak, which I dont think he willl, the question begs...Who could end the streak? Who deserves to end the streak? Should the streak end at all?

With the Undertaker trying to stay in there for another year and reach WrestleMania 28 the first qustion stands who could end the streak? Potential candidates range from Randy Orton, John Cena, Big Show, Rey Mysterio, Kane, and if he stays around and I hope he does The Rock. Each have long term and respected careers in the WWE and each have the respect of the WWE Universe. But seriously who would the WWE Universe want to end the streak? Mysterio is beloved but even the ultimate underdog would not be seen as the man to defeat the Undertaker. Kane? He already had two chances and failed twice. Big Show? Never had a shot to end the streak and honestly could pose the most potential threat.

Could end the streak doesnt mean should. After all who deserves to end the streak? Randy Orton is the resident pyscho of the WWE and has what it takes to punt the Phenom to 19-1. I realize he already tried once but he wont be the only man to try twice, just the only man who could succeed with a second try and in my opinion deserves to. No other superstar has evolved or gotten better than Orton over the years. Big Show might have the knock out punch to put the Dead Man six feet under as well. WrestleMania hasnt always been kind to Show but Show has been great to WrestleMania with his matches against Akibono (not sure if I spelled that even close to right) and Money Mayweather Show has helped WrestleMania be very successful. He may be the most deserving man to end the streak. Cena is WWEs superman and is this generations Hulk Hogan. But does he deserve to end the streak, he is a company man and the children love him. But does that give him the right to do what no other has done. The Rock? The Peoples Champ could very well end the Undertakers streak as The Great One is the only one to beat both Austin and Hogan on the Grandest stage of them all. Beating both the Icons who dominated their respected eras could very well earn The Rock the opportunity to defeat the man who dominated WrestleMania.

Should the streak end though...is it really necessary for Undertaker to lose at all? Undertaker really has no reason to pass any torch as no one will ever be able to take the place of the Undertaker. His spot in the WWE will never be able to filled by anyone else and his absence will be felt.

I have been a wrestling fan for years and have witnessed many incredible moments and I can say that without a doubt, The Rock returning was one of the most astonishing moments that I have seen in a long time...

This is my first blog, so I will do my best to get straight to the point and not ramble as I am privy too...but as I can see the majority of the wrestling universe is very excited to see The Rock return (or Dwayne Johnson if you like) it seems there also seems to have a lot of hate for The Rock returning...
I even read a blog on here that a person wrote the Dwayne doesnt desreve to be called The Rock anymore. Seriously? How does a man who along with Stone Cold Steve Austin, DX and the Undertaker changed the face of professional wrestling not deserve to be called what he earned...

Yes the The Rock has been gone for 7 years; Yes he has aske to be credited as Dwayne Johnson in his movies; Yes he may not have any desire to wrestle any more...However, he has earned the right to be called The Rock whenever he damn well pleases...In a relatively short career of 6 years no man came in and made as much an impact on the buisness than The Rock. Clearly I dont even have to name all of his accomplishments as anyone on this website should already know them. But no matter what you say or think of The Rock, you can not and will not be able to take away what Dwayne Johnson earned. And if you think its all about the payday, then name me one wrestler who isnt getting paid and does this for simply entertaining the people. No one? Yeah figured...

Here is my point...hate The Rock if you want for whatever reason you have. However, you can not take away from what Dwayne Johnson earned and that is his name and the right to return to the WWE whenever he wants. Because even a segment where he cuts a promo from the Titan Tron revealed just how good The Rock is and how much his presence elevates the level of the playing field in the WWE.

Also, one last thing...for those who think The Rocks presence in Hollywood didnt open up doors for other wrestlers, clearly your not paying attention. Yes, others like Hogan, Ventura and Piper all stepped into acting shoes before The Rock ever did, but its undeniable that a wrestler in a movie was looked at nothing more than a bad joke as to which people went to go see just to find out how bad it was going to be out of morbid curiousity. Dwayne The Rock Johnson actually gave wrestlers a chance to actually be looked at as actors with a serious out look. Sure not every movie The Rock has made was great by any means...Doom, ugh! But there is no doubt as to Dwayne Johnson being taken seriously as an actor with prominent movie rolls.

A 6 year unparralled WWE career, a credible acting career and there is no doubt that wether you call him The Rock or Dwayne Johnson, The Peoples Champion earned to be called what ever he want to be called.
