Hey guys. TBH this year has had some bad writing and bad promos and some general can't get any worse moments. But its also had some good times. I just want to put a list of the moments when I was reminded why I love wrestling. If it was possible to chop raw up on my sky player (like tivo for the UK) and save parts the list would be bigger but going back 52 weeks is hard from memory. Dont wanna go into detail or this blog would be a book. Check these out on youtube or other places to see if you agree. Here goes.

WWE RAW 2/14/11 The Miz vs Daniel Bryan
This one was an awesome match for me because the miz won squeeky clean.

WWE Raw 2/14/11 The Rock returns to Raw
Even tho that match was pleasant this is the reason I stayed up even tho I had work at 5am. Because I had a hunch. When his music hit I marked out. And that promo was great. Sent me to work the happiest.

WWE Raw 3/7/11 The Miz lays out John Cena
This was... Awesome. Put the peoples elbow on him and cut an awesome promo to the camera.

Monday Night Raw 6/13/11 Stone Cold Steve Austin Guest Host
I dunno what it is but when hes around the whole vibe is ass kicking. He just creates great energy with anyone. Loved it.

CM Punk Shoot On RAW 06/27/2011
I didn't watch this live. I found out the next day he was suspended. Realized shit must've went down. And as we all know. Dayum.

CM Punk vs John Cena MITB 07/17/11
For me, this was the biggest match of the year in terms of emtional investment, WWE did the whole thing well for one night. Then pooped on it by basically ignoring the immensity of what happened by creating another belt.

Summerslam 8/14/11 Rey Mysterio, Kofi Kingston & John Morrison vs Miz, R Truth & Alberto Del Rio
People will disagree with this because I saw on the forums a lot weren't keen. But really this was an exciting match, it wasn't booked but had a lot of good spots. And really this was the start of a spell of some decent decent wrestling matches imo.

Orton vs Christian No Holds Barred Summerslam 14/8/2011

R-Truth vs. John Morrison Falls count anywhere 8/15/11

Randy Orton vs. Dolph Ziggler 08/29/2011
Great match.

Triple H vs CM Punk No DQ 9/18/11
Clusterfuck but was awesome

Raw 9/26/11 Del Rio with the chair. Hell in a Cell. Del Rio locks out Cena. Miz and truth
I liked the intensity of Del Rio I thought it was a decent build to Hell in a Cell. Its a shame the amount of pay per views made this period pretty tiring. I thought it was a good match and liked how Cena was locked out meaning new champion guarantee. When the Miz and Truth got in I thought it was kind of dumb that no one could lift the cell but was just crazy especially JR

R-Truth and The Miz vs John Morrison and Rey Mysterio Tag Team Match Raw 1/8/11
Pretty dynamic match. I liked how miz and truth were a real tag team working together.

John Cena, CM Punk, Sheamus, WWE Tag Team Champions Air Boom & Mason Ryan def. WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio, Christian, Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes, U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger & David Otunga raw 10/3/11
Lots of great wrestling

SuperSmackDown 28/10/11
I just thought the whole show (minus the big show and henry) was entertaining. The matches were great

The Rock and Cena vs Miz and Truth 11/20/11
The match was good. I don't get how cena is being arrogant almost heel like while The Rock was there. It's more like he doesn't know how he should be reacting with him. The Rock was explosive. But I didn't like the time it took in between tags for the momentum to get back in the match. It was a Rock spectacle; and the long wait meant it has to be here.

Randy Orton vs Cody Rhodes (Street Fight) Smackdown 11/4/11

Thats my list! I think to summarise 2011 has put on decent matches and moments. But the writing has been so disgraceful. I haven't been as into the last couple of episodes although I have scrubbed over it. And I have zero interest in TLC. Looking at the picks I made I think that even though CM Punk made the biggest impact this year The Miz has had a great one from the very start. Dolph Ziggler has been my favourite this year. Cody Rhodes has been decent also but I feel like as he's been on smackdown until the supershow format and has no Vicky its been a lot harder for him to get a reaction and you've seen him try so hard in ppvs to get some heat. I know you've noticed there was no wrestlemania match even though I know everyone else would add Triple H vs Taker. I just thought it would be easy to add that but it had no connection with anything else that happened this year and was really just a seperate one off match from everything else that has happened. For no reason at all that bugs me. But apart from that I hope you agree or at least check out these matches to remind ourselves that even though nothing in WWE makes sense and always screws with us when we think its going to get awesome. It actually has had some gems this year.

Mr Kennedy in WWE; Hogan/Punk TNA

Hey I put this as a blog incase I rant.

I think everyone is either really enjoying, or a lot happier with the way WWE has moved forward in the last few weeks. I've enjoyed it a lot. Really tho. there are a couple changes which are significant for me and the major one is CM Punk

When I see CM Punk as he is now I do a little check over his career. He's always been a real dude and in the syfy ECW times I thought the show was built for him. But while he was a big deal then He obviously is 100x better when just allowed to ad lib. He ruined Nash on monday. He's enjoying it and I'm really loving what he's allowed to do. But I remember seeing one promo when he was incharge of the new nexus while he was on the titantron with a harness. It didnt catch me, frankly I was bored by it and I thought totally different from what I do now about him.

Its funny how Hogan went to TNA saying he is going to give more freedom to the wrestlers in scripts. And when there was meant to be a metamorphosis in the impact zone nothing really turned into super hot fire. Then in a PG world that felt a little Disney and safe CM Punk went and exploded. And i'd say for my money hes the biggest deal in wrestling right now, and mostly all down to the fact that you can tell he breathes wrestling and has the confidence on the microphone.

Now I don't watch TNA often. But i've seen Anderson be the 'asshole'. And I think He's one of these people that has taken his opportunity well. He's confident, enjoys his character and on the fly can deliver on the microphone. He has that swagger I love to see. I believe he is what Hogan thought he could achieve with most wrestlers in TNA. The title says Hogan would love Punk in TNA and I think thats a given. He symbolizes what Hogan wanted. But I'd rather talk about Ken Anderson.

Anderson/Kennedy. Whatever his name may be on WWE time I believe if he were to be given another chance he would explode right now on raw. It actually makes me excited thinking about a CM Punk who can talk so well and a Kennedy which can feud with him. I can imagine him rubbing the COO the wrong way, shaking things up. It would definitely be a great addition to the WWE picture. It's that one extra person fighting for just himself. Being able to speak his mind because we all know he has some bad blood with WWE management and talent. I think if you threw him in the equation on raw, you would get so much more attitude and tension.

I think I'll leave it there thanks for reading

Hogan and Angle: Their Legacy and Folly

Hey EWN. Been a lurker for a while and thought it was time to join the community as ive been enjoying reading the blogs and threads here more and more. Hope i'm sticking to the rules.

This is about TNA's Kurt Angle and Hulk Hogan and the image the IWC has of them now.

I typically don't watch TNA. But will stay up on monday nights til 4am to watch monday night raw live as i'm in the UK. As almost every tuesday im left disappointed and tired from what i've seen the night before; I actually want TNA to develop to a point where WWE recognises its real competition and steps up it's game. And put the brakes on wrestlmania soon becoming renamed 'entertainmentmania'

Hope thats a nice set up for me explaining what I see from Kurt Angle and Hulk Hogan when i flick to TNA during the long wait til 2am.

Kurt Angles jump to TNA I must say is the biggest shock move that way espeially as it has a reputation for a WWE graveyard. As a main eventer in WWE it was a big big deal, for me especially, and actually made me consider checking out what TNA is about. While at that time it wasn't for me, at least it got me aware of it even if i dismissed it.

Fast forward to The Hulk Hogan Press conference at MSG and the next time I opened my eyes to TNA's product. Promising to bring wrestling back to what it was in terms of natual promo's. A big but obvious statement, but the momentum he's offered TNA in terms of awareness, and in becoming a more accessible product (maybe not everyones desired direction for TNA) has been steady.

While Angles image has been tarnished by his comments and actions outside of the squared circle. His twitter 'hack', his DUI's, His wannabe storytale return to olympics. He still has been nothing but the greatest ever servant for TNA. He has gone through divorce, through to working with his ex everyweek for the good of the company. It can't be easy to be put in a situation where your personal life is being played out as if a soap opera for the world to see. But for the good of the company he has worked with it. And the feud with Jarrett has been one of the longest while still remaining watchable because of the realism it has connected to it. He has also elevated the legacy of characters like Samoa Joe and Styles. Even though right now TNA has put their involvement on the back burner. The legacy has definitely built because of Angles work with them. The aura and history these TNA developed wrestlers have has been elevated. Because their feuds have been back and forth, as Angle had professionally put his ego aside for just twitter rants to help generate more stars for the company by being able to be put over.

Rolling back to his time in WW...F, You could only see an impressive worker. A heel most of his career, booed and 'you suck, what?!' chanted to oblivion. He has always worked and worked. And i think thats why Vince was happy to release him on his request. Because of what he has selflessly given to the company. Only difference now is its a contribution to the entire sport.

Hulk Hogan is a different story but i am looking at his positive impact now. I enjoy the new free natural promo's. I enjoy the backstage filming on impact. And as a matter of personal taste i like that the gimmicky 6 sided ring is gone. It's more pure now and looks like a product. A better product is what will entice people to tune in. Like i mentioned before. The accessibility of TNA has increased and that is because of Hogans input. I don't think its questionable that he was the 'main man' to take wrestling to mainstream awareness 'brother'. So in hiring a man that helped the sport evolve the way it has you can only ask that he help develop a growing company through his experience. It shows TNA's mission was to infact become more accessible and that shows that's is why Dixie hired him. Much like a manager creates the style of play of their team. The chairman will hire the manager based on their style in the first place. The ratings may not be there yet but its content has been transformed in the way it should.... if.... you want it to be more accessible.

Maybe his ego is ridiculous. It has been for years before TNA. And his personal and family life is just nuts, but he still gets on with the job, and he still has contributed to an industry more than we wish we ever could. But in a time where the internet exposes all of the flaws of a wrestler (my first instinct was to type superstar.. oh dear) It isn't going to be uncommon for personal problems to be hot topics when they appear. All i'm saying is while Angle and Hogan may get on our nerves with their gum flapping and shoot first ask questions later personal life. They deserve our respect for what they have given, and still give, to the sport. In all walks of celebrity life we see tiger woods style affairs and slanderous off the cuff comments that are offensive, but people know to seperate the legacy from the personal character. Why in wrestling is it overly different?

Hope you enjoyed that, take care
